Both work hand in hand, but its best to talk to the school about your interest in getting funded while submitting application to the school. Anyway, you can still get funded after the admission offer. Some schools can even give you funding after enrolling into the school based on availability but the earlier the better. Talk to professors in your department and Admission coordinators in your school.

All US visa is 2years but your stay is valid as long as your SEVIS record is valid!

This question is best answered if you can spend a little change on data and research different schools through google and individual school websites. there you can compare and contract and arrive at an average.

Your chances are as high as you can account for. Can you give a convincing account of what you have been doing in the past 6years? Does those 6years have an effect on this course you are about to study? Someone with such gap has gotten visa on this thread before, so yours is not the first and will not be the last.

Gud day gurus in the ous. I got admission into ETSU last yr Fall including my Visa, bt due to the chance of getting a GA I differed to this yr fall which is still not sure yet. yl looking for a backup, A friend introduce me to Maharishi University of Management which am currently processing their admission and dey are affordable nd am very likely to be admitted. Bt now they asking for the scanned copy of my Visa cos i stated dt i av an F1 visa already. My questions now are:
1. is it advisable to send the Visa page to them nw
2. Hope Dey wont compel me to transfer my sevis to their school, thereby not giving me chance to look for GA in ETSU.
3. Any other suggestions are welcome.

This schools has so many bad feeling about International students trying to lie their way in, so I think the school only need your visa page for confirmation of your statement. No one can compel you to transfer your sevis unless you want to. Go ahead and sent it to the and see if they can offer you what you need.

My Advise; do not send it to a public domain email, make sure the email is xyz@theschooladdress.com.

I am afraid of what kind of advise I can give you at the moment because you already denied yourself the VISA as you are the VO yourself. There is nothing like the power of the mind, until you can convince yourself that you will get it, It will be hard for anybody to convince you otherwise.

Re-assess yourself and find a valid reason why you know you can get it. Then come back for assistance.

No one will help until you decide to help yourself. Why not start with some personal research on what you want and then come back for clarification when u encounter any problem on the way

My visa was delayed a couple of days back.
I am applying for a PhD program.
The VO said that all PhD program in the US are fully funded or have at least a GTA.
But mine doesn't. I explained and explained to her that mine has only a tuition waiver.
Then she gave me the Blue paper. Now am at crossroads as to whether to apply or not.
My classes start in 10 days time.
Please advice...........

The VO was damn right, All PhD I have seen or known so far are fully funded with some kind of assistantship. So your story of tuition waiver is not convincing

My Advise
Take another GRE (if u have not written any before or you have a low score) and package another application now to another school or if u wish the same school and get all the benefits involved. My2cents

It would be best if you tag him/her as your Uncle/Aunt and be ready to explain why he/she will be spending so much on you and what your relationship is like. My 2cent

A friend of mine applied last year for spring and got denied. Now she has gotten a new i20 for fall. Her problem is that she has forgotten the login she used for the interview the first time. Should she fill a new ds 160 or shoyld she work on retriving th first one How should she go about it. Thanks in advance

DS160 does not require any login whatsoever, moreso, she needs a new DS160 for a new interview. And if you are referring to appointment page she can do the forget password thingy or better still just use another email address to create a new account. My 2cents

Why not go for a BSC conversion programme at Bells University for just 180k and then come back and apply for MSc in the US? My 2cents

please gurus in the house, I kinda need your help and clarification badly.

My issue is, I once complained about the fact that my DS-160 has some missing question such as departure date from US, TRAVEL HISTORY, UNIVERSITY EDUCATION, LANGUAGES.... I was able to find out that this were missing in my own cos a friend of mine who we are both going to same school has those question in his own.

Walspring adviced i use another browser or prolly fill another DS 160 form since I havent submitted. So after much attempt i filled another DS-160 form but still same issue and eventually i submitted like that. It was afterwards I knew i was suppose to pay my visa fees before filling the DS 160 form.

Please my question is can it be because I didnt pay my visa fees initially before filling the DS-160 form was the reason for those missing questions? Now that I have submitted, I know i cannot do anythig about it again. However can the gurus in the house please advise me on the next step I can take to remedy the mistake. I am thinking of making payment tomorrow. Please can I be advised accordingly?

Making visa payment has nothing to do with your ds160. Your visa fee payment only affects your appointment booking. Mind you, you can fill as many ds160 as possible if there is need to, but you can only use ONE to book your appointment.

So if you are not satisfied with your DS160, always try to fill another one to use in booking your appointment. I can remember I only generated my DS160 code to book my appointment then, but I did not submit the DS160 until a day to my interview just to make sure I am satisfied with what I filled in there, though I don't think that's possible anymore.

So do not panic about ds160 expect you have used it in booking your appointment, Otherwise just chill and fill another one but don't abuse it. My 2cents

I've written gre and toefl with scores of Q155 V 153 and 96/120 respectively. However, I was denied admission into LSU and Texas A&M for fall 2017 admission. I felt the reason is because my gre score is low and have decided to write another but I need advice on safe schools to apply to as I don't want to be disappointed again. I have a Cgpa of 4.13/5.00 in BSc Chemical engineering and would like to go for master's in chemical engineering too. Thanks as I await a speedy response

I KNOW B4 YOU CALL MAIL THE EMBASSY TELL THEM ABOUT THIS MISTAKE BY FILLING ANOTHER DS160 AND ASK THEM TO CHANGE IT FOR YOU BUT I AM NOT SURE IF THIS OPTION IS STILL AVAILABLE

MY ADVISE WILL BE, FILL ANOTHER DS160 AND THEN MAIL THE EMBASSY WITH THE NEW CODE REQUESTING THAT THEY REPLACE IT WITH THE OLD ONE.

I don't think you should be having issue once you can convince the VO why you are sponsoring yourself and how you have been able to get the funds. but it would be nice if you can also present a joint sponsor as well..

2) Desist from making posts that will cause tension or make applicants to be scared unneccesarily. Again, POE IS NOT A WARFRONT!
3) Dont feel important, if you and I dont comment, there are 1001 people that will comment and help future applicants, so get over yourself.

I don't understand why he is just posting irrelevant things sef. He is just activating panic button for people unnecessarily. I got to the POE one week after the date on my I-20 and I was so confident nothing was gonna happen cos I already informed my International Student Advisor about the delay..... Even the CBP officer never asked me anything, I just strolled in like say na me get the POE.

I don't understand why someone who is obeying the rule should now panic!!!!! Mr @fairheart enough of this ur rant jare. Next!!!

The best thing to do is buy a wac scratch card and send to the school with a copy of your printed result. That's all they need... next!
