What do you do in Cyprus? Are you a permanent resident in Cyprus or have any legal status that authorized your living/schooling/work? Who is sponsoring you? Why are you just going for bachelors at 24? Do you have any degree? ghettonews: |

Jona48: For clarification, Community College is the same thing as going to Polytechnic for OND! My Advise, since you already have a BSc, why not look for masters program that suits you and look for ways you can get scholarships/funding. If Philly is your choice, there are couple Universities in there you can check out to see if they have opportunities for scholarship. Then take your time to find ways to qualify for the scholarship (Refer to my earlier post about getting scholarship), that way your financial burden is cut down by a huge percentage. All you need to achieve this is determination and dedication. If you can dedicate time to it, you can achieve it. Dedicate your time to making research and looking for ways (it is always worth it) The problem for most people is they dont want to put in work, they just want wuruwuru to the answer which does not work for everybody. Put in work and whenever you are in doubt or have questions, ask and people will answer. 4 Likes |

princefemo01: The best way to get funding is to: Take a look into the department you are trying to study from in any school and see the kind of projects or programs the Professors in that department have going on and reach out to the one that you have interest in. Let the professor know that you are interested in his work and how you can contribute. Let him understand your background, what you have done in the past, your undergraduate project and how it aligns with what he/she is doing (even if you have to lie but not advisable if you cannot structure it well enough to convince yourself) Ask to know if there is any allocated funding available to sponsor grad students for the program Let him/her give you the requirements and what you need to do in order to secure a spot Look for viable person(s) in your undergrad school to write recommendation letter(s) for you And follow the school/department procedure as well. You never know, you might just be lucky that way!!!! 3 Likes |

Jay5mie: Everyone's story is different and so is everyone's luck (if there is anything like that). I will advise you take some time to read through this thread and get an understanding of how different people go through their individual processes. That way you will obtain all the knowledge you need to also get a fully funded admission. If you now have any difficulty understanding anything, ask specific questions and folks with experience will definitely come to your aid and help out. |

greenskittles: There is no cause for alarm here.... Every organization in the world knows what is going on. The school is also motioning the situation of things and if at all they see it will not be possible for you to join during the semester you applied for, they will advice you to defer to the next semester. Also there is no indication from anywhere that the US would be allowing anyone from risky countries to come into the US anytime soon (especially with the low testing rate currently going on in Naija). Your best bet is to cross your harms till the embassy announce it is opening back for operation. For others who are still pursuing admissions, keep it going and follow all the necessary instructions laid out by your prospective schools. 1 Like |

Please House, I need help! I just submitted an application for my Parent and my sister for vacation in the UK and they have an appointment by the end of the month. -I will be the sole sponsor of everything -I live and work in the US, I also have a business in Nigeria that I run from the US. -Last year I sponsored my parents to the US and my sister to Dubai cos she was refused a US vis. -Now I want them to go and celebrate my Dads birthday in the UK and also my parents wedding anniversary. -I have paid their visa fee and all. But I need an advise on what are the appropriate documents I need to put together so their application can be approved. FYI - I am using my Nigerian personal account for my business. But the flow is very funny (if 50m enter there today, I will transfer it out within 1weeek because I have to convert it to dollar to be able to use in the US for my business), so I dont know if this will be a red flag! -Also I earn 6figures in the US which is evidence with my paycheck and account statement (Is this sufficient to prove or I should add my Naija Acct? The point is everytime money leaves my Nigerian account, it can be evidenced in my US account) So please, what does the right documentation looks like for me. What should my cover letter look like? Please I need help. Thanks Gurus |

ZinoDaniels: Actually there is no age limit to anything, but the lower your age the better your chances. If i may ask, what has your cousin been doing since 2010 that he graduated. |

Jonat2rule: Uncle it is best to jejely go take another 2*2 passport and fill another ds160, then login into your application page and edit your ds160. Don't go to the embassy with that ds160 with no picture ooo... Or else you might suffer a heart break and/lose about 5k to those embassy touts. 1 Like |

alayomini: From these transcript, my instinct is you are not really prepared. These your responses seem muffled to me and am not convince i will approve your visa either if i am a VO. My Advise Suspend going for interview at the moment Email your school to see if they can hold your admission till Spring 2019 If yes, ask them to include your $4000 funding in your new I-20 whenever they issue another one. Take your time to study and and write atleast one standardized test if you have never done any before Try to read through at least 2 parts of these USA education thread Read through peoples transcripts, both approvals and deniers Come back and ask questions on anything that seems unclear to you here and am sure folks will help you out. All these seems too much and probably not of interest to you, but they can work for you if you give it a try. Just My 2cents |

kfrosh: Yes I still think that is possible, but your visa will not be approved without paying the SEVIS fee. Also i will advise you pay your sevis fee at least 5days before your interview for it to reflect on the embassy's system. |

Mervyn98: Dear Aunty or Uncle, I dont think you need to go to any Abuja or Lagos for now. What i think you should do is, stay back at home, think about what you really want and research how to go about it. I understand we are all trying to run away from the shit hole country according to Donald Trump but we need to be smart about it. How about you just dont rush anything for now and stop wasting money, Just start afresh and ask the right questions..... My 2cent 8 Likes |
