Renewable0216: Hi folks.... quick one... As advised, I plan on applying for a straight to PhD for fall 2017. I'm preparing for GRE presently, and should be writing it latest November.
So, I'm I to start reaching out to Schools now or I should chill till the results are out? Won't it be too late by then Especially considering the fact that I'd need funding..?
Thanks Yea while you are preparing for your test. It will be in your best interest to start reaching out to schools too, cos I believe you will be required to add school names to your gre applications so that they can forward your results to the when it's ready. |

gunther6: I promised to give out a free GRE( It has been received by Adazlolly/Priceless200 a travelander) and subsidize 2-3 peoples TOEFL/GRE. The remaining 30% subsidy was booked by some NL'DERS but I keep hearing I need it next month, next year... We do not know what next month or year holds neither are my co-facilitators comfortable with hogging of opportunities, so I am throwing it open, It is strictly on a first come basis and I will not be keeping nor reserving a slot for anyone. I will be contributing to plauses subsidy scheme at the end of the month by Gods grace Thought I was on a preference list for this offer.... |

NairaSea23: Pls to those in US already... As an F1 student visa holder with family in the US on F2, is my wife entitled to Medicare should she get pregnant and want to deliver in the US? We will both be on health insurance and I will probably be paying tax with a SSN. Pls those that have experience either first hand or second hand should pls advice to enable me plan ahead of time . Thank you. Medicare is another health plan on its own which am not sure u r qualified for as an F1 holder. But for insurance, in as much as you and your wife are both fully covered, they have no choice than to pay for her hospital bills no matter the condition. But be careful with the kind of insurance you sign up with and know about your policy very well so that you wont be played. |

oluwafemikolade: Emergency booking is no longer available for F1 visa. It can only be done for those going for medical. Leetwho: Hello Peeps, Please i want to find out if it is possible to book an emergency visa appointment with the US consulate here in Nigeria for student visa. I just got my i-20 form last Friday and my school expects me to report for orientation on August 9, 2016. The appointment dates available now are end of August or September which will be too late for me. Please whoever knows how to book the emergency appointment should please put me through. Thanks y'all. Yes as much as there is no emergency booking it is very possible that u could get am earlier date cos the embassy creates more date for F1 visas during this period. All you have to do is keep checking on the appointment page for new date probably every 4-6hrs. And u might be lucky to get one in less than a week. Also we have people who cancel appointments or reschedule which might open up a space for you. Just keep checking and be hopeful. |

biikeys: You obviously don't understand my point. I'll leave it at that Biikeys, lamlam I actually have a misconception about the F2 rule but I got my facts quickly by visiting the dhs website. F2 cannot only be for either a spouse or unmarried children under the age of 21. Any other person out this box will b on b1/B2. I have edited my post on the matter since if you noticed. Good morning |

Mekurexx: It is 6. For my school it is 6. If still in doubt I can give you a link/screenshot According to DHS an intl student must complete 9 credit hours so as to be in status on F1. But I dont know if your school is given a special privilege. One thing I know is nothing is impossible in America. |

LagosismyHome: She can come back but within reason ....She allowed 6months max at a time and then when she in naija you look for a backup maybe daycare . She stays in naija for some months and then come back .
So yes if she goes to naija and come back a week time POE no go like am but if she back in say 4months and say the reason for return is to help my daughter who schooling . They will pull ur records and if in status hopefully let her in . Nobody can predict the POE head but usually after some months in naija they usually let you in . .....On her day of entry have your phone close by and if they call you , makesure you tell them how you are almost running depressed by yourself. They wont like that word depressed To the best of my knowledge, Grandma does not need to exit and waste ticket money after 5.5month. All she need to do is apply for an extention of stay which can be done by contacting DHS. I have done this for someone before and it works perfectly fine. Since she is in status and can get a letter of support from her Intl office and present all required doc as required by dhs, she is good to go. Note: there are lot of mom's over here looking for whom to leave their kids with so that they can go to work, sch etc. So grandma can make some cash for herself taking in more kids to look after with yours. I know peeps who also allow their grandma to do this as well. So just be prepared and u r good to go. |
