fairheart: NOTICE TO STUDENT VISA HOLDERS: As at last night, @ Georgia Atlanta, a student visa holder (a Nigerian and cousin to my friend's friend) was turned back home after his visa was cancelled. The reason is that he did not leave Nigeria at the date stated on his I-20 that he should resume. He had waited more more months; that is, he should have left few months back. So when he got to the port of entry, he was sent back. This information is coming directly from Texas, US. Emmanuel. Those in charge of his case are the best in the business. He deserves a life-term ban sef |

Coloniel5000: Hello to everyone. Have been a silent follower for over a year now, went off for a while when I was considering changing the country I wnt to pursue my masters from USA to TURKEY, but even with the admissions given by turkey universities my family has been adamant that it's either USA or never so am faced with my fears and am ready to just face it with the help of GOD and. Nairalanders cos have heard and read a lot about u guys.
Please here are my fears, I applied to some US schools Western Illinois University, Central Michigan University and ETSU, but am just to fascinated to WIU because of a Professor have been in contact with, but the problem is I have a cgpa of 3.19/5.0 and that is the only area am lacking in my program requirements for admission and he told me with my GPA I will be given admission on CONDITION. The status alone is making me unsettled and will that not affect my VISA interview as have been always scared of the interview part right from time and the fear of denial made me opted for turkey in the first place.
Please help a JJC who needs to be put through and please pardon my long note. First of all, have you tried evaluating your transcript? Secondly, do u intend to write any test? Let's start from there. |

If you can take your time to go tru part 4,5 and 6, I can recall there are 1 or 2cases like yours on there, u can learn from them. djpope: if the VO asks what have been doing from 2008 till 2017. is it safe to say i have done a degree and served.... but i want to a new degree owing to the fact that the world is evolving and there are new opportunities being forecasted for professionals in the new field i'm trying to travel for and since its the US and the school i will get the best education and hands-on practical experience bla bla bla....give am correct apako.
will that work? Not bad but just try and fine tune it so that it doesn't sound like you crammed it all from somewhere. Just my 2cents |

ngozionefeli: it does not talk about the MS fee on their site(tuition fee) Then the best thing to do in this case is to buy 1000naira recharge card and call the school international office to ask your questions or better still send them an email to express all your concern. I bet they will give you all the first hand information that you require. Another option is to go through their international student page and connect with students there to ask your questions. |

so whats the best answer i can give when asked? Of course you can mention it to the VO if you have a good reason for taking another degree but this will only be more convincing if it's an MSc |

Classic90: My visa was denied on the 29th of June,2017. I was previously denied in January for B1 visa cgpa; 3.2 course: Vet medicine GRE: 292
V.O, a lady granted the guy before me; I stepped forward and she kept typing for about a minute and half before requesting for my intl passport.
me: Goodmorning v.o : no response. Passport please me : I passed it to her v.o ; what are you going to do in the united states me: I am going for my MBA with health mgt specialization v.o : asks for my i20, checked it then asks why Ashland university me : Ashland university is ranked in the top 200 schools in the US, they have a student: faculty ratio of 9:1 which makes students closer to the professors, it is affordable . Then I stopped v.o ; * types * then hands me the blue paper.
pls I intend to reapply and will need suggestions and also please how can I reach Mr Taxrem to assist me with a mock ? The bolded has been outdated since like 5years ago...... U didn't sound like a real student who who knows what he/she is going into. You could have mentioned something that is of personal interest to you and not some dumb internet answers. Sorry am a bit harsh but if I may ask, is this BSc/Msc? Cos a masters student should know better than this. I will advise you to read part 5 of this thread and re-apply. By then you should know better |

worry357: Sorry to have to say this but sometimes advice is not what you want to hear. If you have struggled to collect as little as $100-00 Then how will you pay for all the other things required? There will be many things to pay for not least air ticket, visa, school fees and accomodation.
If your finances are not strong then perhaps USA school is not for you. It would be a crime to wast what little money you have starting an application that you can not finish. Exactly what I was thinking..... No offence |

femi321: When i see people say, suggest schools, i assume you are just looking for an escape route and not really passionate about getting that masters. The school that works for A might not work for B because we all have different dreams and aspirations. What if someone gives you a school you cant afford or a school that cant give you funding? So get to work and search for schools that meet your dreams et al. To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a) www.google.com b)www.gradschools.com c)www.msinus.com d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl, its good to do all this exam to at least have a chance at funding. 4) register for standardize exam and take it 5) Send your application and back it up with prayers. While checking schools, shortlist them according to cost of living in that city, opportunity for Funding, your research interest etc. funding depends on your GPA,LORS, SOP,GRE/TOEFL SCORE.. Cheers I guess every future applicant should screen grab this. This is all you need for a successful application. Thanks bro |

kokoboy4life: Hello There, A great job you people are doing on here by July this year will make it 10years that have applied for US Student visa and I was denied on two occasions. I need answers on these questions below
1. Staying 10years to reapply for another student visa hope that won't shorten my chances of been successful in my visa interview.
2. And I have no travel experience hope this won't hinder my chances in getting the visa this period. Well there is nothing that assures your visa application like been real and truthful. Once you are able to prove to the VO this time the genuinity of your visa application, I see no reason why you should be rejected. Also there is no law that says you must have travel experience before been issued a US visa. Seen a lot of virgin passport holders on this thread getting their visas straight up. So good luck in your application. |

LagosNIV: Many applicants are still failing to upload their visa photos as part of the application process, creating delays and bottlenecks in Consulate processing on the day of interview. Effective immediately, visa applicants who do not upload their photos when submitting their visa application will be turned away and advised to complete their application by uploading a proper photo.
This will usually require the rescheduling of their appointment. The process for uploading photos is easy and is thoroughly explained in our on-line application. Avoid disappointment and delay—upload your photo as part of your visa application! But boss. That upload thing is not easy ooo. It will just be rejecting the photograph anyhow. I have tried to be successful so many times with it but all to no avail. Maybe the security feature on it should be relaxed a lil bit. Thanks |
