It’s unrealistic for Accounting discipline especially the offshore applicants. There are Australian graduates of Accounting that have been hanging for more than 4yrs even when they were able to do professional year and even onshore experiences.
ifemazi247:
Good evening to the ogas at the top. Thanks for taking your time to respond to newbies like us. Have gone through the thread from the very first one initiated by Oga Bellong. I was very hopeful and enthusiastic that my husband can be the primary applicant as the process for pharmacist is no so direct but the recent information I gathered from here is that accountant (General) is very competitive. Now am confused, I'ld really appreciate it if someone can help guide me on the best way to go about getting PR for OZ.

My husband:
Age: 36
Qualification: Bsc banking and finance from Anambra state University.
Experience: 6 years working in general account. Has all documents to back it up.
English test: yet to write but we hope to target scores to give us 20 points.

Me:
Age: 34
Qualification: PharmD from university of Benin
Experience: more than 4 years. don't have payslips or tax clearance just offer letters and bank statements
English: yet to write.
I can make hair and fix nails but no certificate or trade test to back it up. ( skills we develop growing up).

I was hoping my husband could be the primary applicant with 189 visa as it doesn't require much funds but now am confused.

We were considering starting Canada process towards the tail end of 2021 but with recent increase in CRS scores I don't know what it will be like by next year. (Huge proof of funds for family of 5 is what's delaying us)

Please ogas come to my rescues on any possible route we could take to PR so we can make hay while the sun is still out. Thanks in advance.

You can assess as Electrical Engineering Draftperson even without experience provided that you can furnish your CDR with 3 projects you executed independently during your school days. Make sure it’s not plagiarized projects and the 1yr experience isn’t useful as you need minimum of 3yrs for 5points

Baba you lost me here o!
For someone who has Diploma in Elect-Elect, I believe one year should be Sufficient for anything electrical Level-2 related?
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 7:18am On Jun 01, 2020
ACT sponsorship is more on the matrix points. If you like have 200 points and you don’t meet the matrix cutoffs, you will queue until the EOI expires
tunlex01:
I'm glad you said the people you know. I know over 6 people who are not on Nairaland who have gotten ITA from TAS and ACT with 65 and 70 points since December till May, 2020. Please note that not everyone running this migration is on Nairaland. A very fresh one I can remember got ITA as a Cabinet maker with 65 from TAS within 12 days. Another got with 65 from SA - ICT Customer Support officer before the occupation moved to 75 and then special condition.

491 Family sponsored visa also gives you the 15 points.

Ways to get nomination faster is to assess for occupations like technicians roles with TRA. We hope July will bring forth good tidings
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 5:09am On Nov 02, 2019
Federal uni like Ui, Oau, Lag can be a Tier 1. Don’t get me wrong, if your occupation is not Level 1, you stand a chance. Research on what matches your experience and qualification then send copy of your cert with transcript to assessing body for a review before going ahead with your assessment.

Even if my course is 4 years course all over the institutions in Nigeria? I studied Mass Communication and has been working as a News Editor for 8 years now anyways thanks for the response. No need assessing since its a negative outcome from onset
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 4:17pm On Nov 01, 2019
This is a long way and it would cost you a fortune than any other assessment with less probability of getting positive assessment outcome as it involves technical interview which is not held in West Africa. Pastry Chef or Commercial cookery with the need to have prior education from recognized institution on that discipline and at least 3yrs of experience that are verifiable with tax, payslips, bank statements or pension.

TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 4:12pm On Nov 01, 2019
That’s Tier 2. It’s a 4yrs at your institution. Only if it’s from a recognized Fed Uni or a 5yrs course.
Themhydahyoh:
Please house, can someone actually help me with this tier 1or tier 2 Universities. Is it only peculiar to Nigeria? I graduated from AAUA and my Anzsco code is 212412 with 8 years experience.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 2:18pm On Oct 27, 2019
491 owns the point as it is designed to push those who can’t reach the basic 65 to the regional areas. If the point apply across others, the general point would change from 65. There are several people within that are hanging on student visa at 60points, so they are trying to make it easier for them while they move to the regions
Mcslize:
Before now, people claim partner points for all the visa types 189, 190 and 489. So, why will claiming point for being single only be for visa 491? It is a across board. It can't be for only 491 alone. If you can claim partner point for 491, a single person now has the opportunity to do same across all the visa types. They are trying to give equal playing field for everyone. I know that's where your doubt is. Claiming point based on your marital status can't be for just one visa type. Partner points had always been claimed for all the visa types right from time. It is that same opportunity they are about to give single individuals so they won't be left off. And it is across board.

Moreso, my occupation is not available for 489 that is about to be substituted with the 491. Mine is skill level 1. It's only available for 189 and 190. It is even only NSW that's nominating it for now.

The new changes were posted here by a member sometime ago. I think it was gotten from the immigration website. You can read it on their site.

Have you actually taken time to go through the new changes that will take effect from November? You are still very much in doubt I understand.

I once doubted until I went straight to the immigration website to read it up. They just can't put up something like that if they won't implement it. Will they really do that? That's my thought. So you see, that 10 points is not borrowed. It is what immigration put on their website. That's the right source you can confirm it from.

It should be a good news to everyone, so that those whose occupations may not be on the 491, will still have something to fall back on. Definitely, if my occupation appears on 491, I will apply for it as well. Any one that comes quicker will be the one I will go for. But even at that, not all occupations will show in the 491 list.

Look for Skill level 2 occupation that relates to your hnd and experience then do the assessment

TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 8:14am On Oct 14, 2019
It’s not about priority only. It’s much easier to get good points as much as 20 in pte which could have been 10points at the same effort. Those others are fine if you might be thinking of using it for other countries like Canada or huh
Superted01:
Thank you so much @tunex01 I feel writing TOEFL will be much easier to achieve.
What's the difference between normal and priority processing please.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 8:03am On Oct 14, 2019
HND minimum for technicians or Draftperson. Because your ND transcript would not be enough for skill level 2. Do this, email EA your transcript and cert and also state your experience. They will evaluate it before telling you to put it in.

HND is associate degree and Technoloist requires minimum of 5yr Bachelors

Civil engineering technologist
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 2:51pm On Jul 14, 2019
Let your partner assess with NTI if there’s 1yr teaching practice which must be verifiable. Also, anything in skill level 1 cannot give positive outcome using HND and ND even if it sums up to 5 yrs. Bsc for engineering for skill level 1 needs 5yrs program.
Laheelow:
God bless @oga belong.
Actually, she presently works as a Process Support Technologist in a service/ contrat company (in contract with a cement company) in charge of some quality control/assurance/laboratory stuffs. Prior to this, she has also work for 4 years as a chemistry teacher/laboratory coordinator in a private school. That's why she had to obtained a PGD(Edu) in 2015 from NTI in case she may want to go back to teaching. Her work experience has always revolve around laboratory. Is it advisable to add her PGDE to her qualification in other to make it equivalent to bachelor degree for this purpose or we should just proceed writing her CDR and see out it turns out as suggested by you. This is because there seems to be no skill level 2 job that is matching her profile. Thanks in anticipation.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 3:42pm On Jun 11, 2019
Both IT occupations won’t fly for experience points but the Engineering discipline can give good assessment outcome if it is a 5yrs program using your placement projects or final yr projects for CDR provided that you perfect it from what plagiarism checker can match. Also, do pte if you can learn to read and speak fast and clear like a rapper. Good luck

You can assess with EA using three of the projects you did in sch and thesis.

EA can be assessed without you experience

ACS can assess certifications in as much as there’s transcript for it or it’s a recognized certificate like Cisco or Microsoft. However, send copy of your certificates with transcript to ACS email and they will tell you. It has worked for people
Lifted0902:
ICT Project Manager is exactly what I have been doing for the 8-years and still doing. I also have 2 certifications (PMP - Project Management Professional and ITIL - Information Technology Infrastructure Library) in that space as well, but I read somewhere on this thread that ACS doesn't grade professional certifications hence the decision not to list them on the previous post.

A few occupations I think are close to what also do are ICT Managers nec (135199), ICT Business Analyst (261111) both of which seems very competitive as well.
TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 7:40pm On Jan 23, 2019
ACS recognizes NIIT as Diploma but that must follow a compulsory 2yesrs experience that relates to the field and sometimes they might cut 4yrs to be equal to their 2 yrs basic requirements. Cisco Certificates also can be regarded as equivalent to Diploma.

TravelRe: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by aaffluent: 8:10pm On Jan 09, 2019
The IT would work but might ACS might cut a lot of his experiences. He should look at the list for the best possible occupation that relates to the Data Administration

Engineering Technologist needs Bachelors Degree not HND or Diploma
BetterPerson007:
Bellong, may God bless you for starting this thread. To all the gurus in the house, more power to your elbow.
Gurus, please I need guidance. These are my current details:
Age: 37
Ed: I have an HND in Mechanical Engineering (I graduated in 2009)
Work experience: I completed my ND (Mechanical Engineering) in 2002, and got a job as an engineering technician in a Manufacturing firm since 2004. So, my current working years is 14 years.
I have gone through the list of eligible skilled occupations, and intend to apply as an engineering technologist. I intend to apply under visa subclass 189. Currently, I am married with 3 children. Wifey is 29 years, and is a business woman.

Please, is visa subclass 189 the right one for me?
Is applying as an engineering technologist the right application?
Please give an other advice. Thanks ahead.

Hello, does the wife need to also assess her qualification with assessment body or it doesn’t matter ? a
tunlex01:
To claim Partner points, your spouse must score a minimum of 6 in each band of IELTS or 50 in PTE.

In addition to the above, your spouse must satisfy the following:
My partner is aged under 45
My partner can obtain a suitable skills assessment (that is not for a Subclass 485 visa)
My partner has a skilled occupation on the same skilled occupation list as you.
Goodluck.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by aaffluent: 4:18pm On Feb 18, 2018
@trastar

The 190 list preferred. The points are not going to be enough to fight for 189 as I know it is very competitive these days.
trastar:
It's more about the occupation being nominated really. Not all occupations are available on both list.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by aaffluent: 1:35pm On Feb 15, 2018
Please what are the least competitive to nominate for that would be good for 189 or 190 ?

HND Business Admin and Management 2008 10 Points
Age 25 Points
Experience 15points
English at least 10 points

Please house, I need suggestions
trastar:
You have already reached the age limit.
If you have a partner who is younger, maybe they can apply.
TravelRe: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by aaffluent: 1:02am On Feb 15, 2018
Please house, what are the best to nominate for that won't be too competitive ?

BSc Economics
MSc Economics

Career: About 10yrs experience as Lecturer and Supervision Position in the institution
Age: 45

Also have BSc in Business Admin.

I would really appreciate your replies.

Hi @catchdwind4rmkd

I want to clarify something concerning your # 2 cirteria. Engineering graduate of 2013 with experience as IT Sales Consultant (not claiming experience) is not eligible ?

catchdwind4rmkd:
To simplify what HSIM has said, and made add a little:

After getting the right IELTS SCORE (at least 6.0), you need to meet all the criteria summarised below,
1. You're younger than 31yrs old as at the time of application
2. You're a recent (within the last 2yrs) ENGINEERING graduate.
3. Your degree was obtained from a recognised university (Australian, Washington Accord, Sydney Accord). If you graduated from UK or Australian University, you're likely to meet this criterion.

To ensure you receive a grant;

1. You need to submit an online application to be considered. This is only certain once you've paid the application fee.
2. You need to upload all required documents, viz
* scanned copies of;
I. evidence of degree qualification (certificate and/or transcript)
II. Evidence of age (birth certificate or affidavit)
III. Valid Identification (Passport and/or Drivers Licence)
IV. Valid Travel document (Passport )
V. Recent passport photo (must meet the stated size or dimension 45H x 35W)
VI. Completed "FORM 80" (This is a duplicate of the online form you've already filled. So, you must save or print out a copy of your online application and use same to fill your form 80 to avoid contradictions.
VII. Medical Clearance (You can only be able to upload your polio vaccination certificate. Your completed medical statement will be uploaded directly to your file by àny of the assigned panel physicians you choose to use. You can only do your medical clearance at selected medical centres which are listed on the application website. You're, however, required to complete an online self-medical assessment)
VIII. Evidence of Good Character (Police Character Certificate from all countries you've lived in for at least 12 months in the past 10yrs. This too can only be gotten from selected Police offices in the country)
IX. Evidence of English Competency (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE)
X. Proof of Address (bank statement, utility bills, etc)

You don't have to upload all these at the point of submission of application. You have time to do this after you've submitted your application, but the earlier the better.

A case officer will be assigned to you possibly within 2 months from the date of submission of your application. Your case officer may contact you about the status of or decision on your visa application if you've provided all the required evidence. He may also contact you to request for additional documents or evidence if you're yet to submit them.

If you meet all the requirements and have provided all the proofs, you'll definitely be granted the Visa. It takes between 1 to 6 months to know the outcome of your application. No proof of fund is required for this visa. I hope I have been able to help. Others can enlighten you more in areas that I've not been detailed enough.

Best wishes.

zorani:
that should be ur own ID cos it's only generated when the visa application has been successfully submitted unlike the dependant who is still applying
