So basically, cooking and cleaning in the household you both live is considered slavery while having a man that provides not only for you but takes care of yourr external family needs as well is considered normal duty of a man (This is how it works in most Nigerian marriages).

If you want to change societal or traditional belief system you must be willing to change the role of a man from such provider and speak on how boys are also raised from childhood to be providers and how their financial status determines their worthiness of a woman/wife!

You can't have the double standards of speaking against societal conditioning for the woman while ignoring the same for the man!

You have the right to choose a female gynae doesnt mean you will get one when needed. If you want to exercise that right , you might need to wait extra hours , days or month .. depending on availability. What a patient who really needs medical attention needs is a chaperone and th gender of your doctor doesnt matter .

There are many factors that could reduce jail time or sentencing. History of domestic violence, mental illness, health grounds and so on. Abroad, the charges could even be reduced to involunatry manslaughter which carries a maximum of 5 to 10 years depending on the country.
