since there is no error code am guessing a malfunction in the electronic throttle control.

Not at all. The throttle is free of any obstruction.

My mechanic even washed the throttle and changed the plug.

Comprehensive Insurance is far better. At 3-5% of car value, you are covered against all thoughts that could cross your mind (Theft, fire, Accident, Flood etc.)

Tracker just covers theft only (not guaranteed as well). So, go for insurance any day.

With 100k you should be able to achieve both. Some Insurance can offer you 3% (N54,000) and Tracker of N45,000 is available.

I notice that every afternoon when I'm returning from work these past few weeks, my car will be drawing back when in top motion.
When I go up 80km or above, i notice that the car behaves as if its coming to a stop, no matter how hard I throttle it down. Then after a few seconds or if I turn it off, it will start responding well again. This will repeat itself several times until I get home.

By the next morning, everything is OK. I drive to work without any issue(8km) untill when I'm coming back from work again.
If I drive at a low speed from 80km and below, I won't experience it, both to and fro.

Pls guide me on possible places to look.

Maybe bad plugs, or fuel filter is dirty.

Since you don't know when it was last done, what was put Into it and how it was used/abused

I'd recommend you do a full service and inspection using the manufacturer recommended oils and parts.

Some things like plugs may not need to be changed for now.

Keep the parts you remove from it especially if they are the original OEM parts.

Then reset the current drive odometer and start following the manufacturer schedule

If you mean buying from Dealers in Lagos, I don't recommend it to people. Some of those people do lots to maximize profit.

While I don't think its impossible getting it at that price in car stands, I believe the dealer must have cut corners with the duty and the vehicle would have been heavily accidented with 250k+ miles.

Personally, I don't recommend pre order to anyone who is not ready to spend at least 1.6m.

You are very right on that. I forgot to adjust for the fees. I think 1.4m will do a neat non-accidented and 150k-200k mileage or accidented with repairs inclusive.

If nav is the main reason u want to get an aftermarket head unit then u might want to re consider. Those nav systems on head units are always outdated and with poor graphics. Most people in the us that drive cars with nav use their phones for navigation, and those cars that come with Android auto or carplay their owners don't even bother using factory nav, they just use Google maps.

Unless u can get an Android head unit then I dont think any of those Chinese head units will ever give u a good navigation experience. With Android head unit u can use Google maps or download other nav apps. So if u are replacing ur head unit mainly because of nav, rhen better u look for a really good quality Android head unit or it won't worth it. But if what u care about is Bluetooth, reverse camera, SD and USB support for music and movies, then there are many head units that can give u that.
