Jobs/VacanciesWhat KQR Means And How To Use It For Your Job Application by AbdulAkpan(op): 3:52pm On Sep 04, 2020
It is commonplace to see that a lot of professionals do not still understand that using KQR will give them a solid backing while applying to jobs. This article, we will explain the meaning of KQR and how job applicants can use it to strengthen their chances with their job applications.

What does KQR stand for? It simply refers to keywords, qualities and requirements.

Your KQR for every job you apply to, requires your full attention. Why? For your application to be go through the applicant tracking system (ATS) as well as appeal to the recruiter(s) in charge of that role, you need to tailor your application to the specified keywords, qualities and requirements.

We once had a client who told us that she never really paid attention to the KQR of each job she applied to, instead, she was always in a hurry to send in her CV. Well, she never received any interview invite or even an acknowledgement until she started reading everything and using what she saw to tailor her application, each and every time.

Why should you pay attention to KQR for every job application?

If you do not know the finer details of the job you are applying for, how are you supposed to know what the recruiter wants? Applying for civil service jobs through connections is different from applying to jobs in the private sector. If a recruiter has specific needs to fill that role and you do not calm down to read through all the listed details, how will you sell yourself? And if you haven’t sold yourself to the recruiter enough for him/her to invite you for an interview, haven’t you wasted your time?

Yes, the employment pool is a shallow one, this is why as a job applicant, you must make extra efforts to put yourself ahead for every job application you submit. Please, understand that applying for a job goes beyond just rushing to send your CV/resume for every job application you see/receive.

In fact, if you take the KQR for every job application seriously, you will not apply for every job, you will become intentional about your applications. It is the same thing with applying for scholarships.

If you want a scholarship, you know the exact type that will help you. You will not apply to every scholarship you find. Jobs also come with their terms – keywords, qualities and requirements. Isn’t it better to read the KQRs and figure out of that particular job is a good fit for you, instead of randomly sending your CV, without reading the KQR?

Of course, every professional who is yet to land a job, has bills to pay. But, not every job is for you. It is better to start a side hustle while waiting for an ideal job. The best way to do this, is to provide a service that people are willing to pay for in your immediate environment and get paid for it.

Good luck!
