Ayoola03: The choice is yours my dear, it depends on your scale of preference, wht country do you prefer, is it malaysia or canada. this decision will guide you right. no one can advice you to choose one country over the other wht of if the house decides and at the end of the day it doesn't favour you, how will you feel? make the decision 1st and lets no how to tackle your question. i hope this will help. Please see to what I quote below; " "Also i applied to some Canadian universities and my application is under processing but the Malaysian university is asking me to apply for Visa because visa processing normally take 2-3 months, in your opinion what can I do? What if I get admission at the Canadian universities and my Malaysia visa has been granted?" Please from your experience if i have Malaysia visa won't it prevent from being able to apply for Canadian visa. I already secure Malaysian admission but am trying to delay the visa because I am expecting Canadian admission but so as to be on the safer side I want to start applying for Malaysian visa, i hope securing the study permit for Malaysia won't prevent securing Canadian visa. I await prompt response. Thanks |

Osemigho: 1st: Relax. This pressure is best before applying. But since yours came after, you need to relax. Pressure won't solve it.
2. Since you have sent email, hope for the best from Manitoba. Hope is why we are living. If not, many would have committed ed suicide.
3. Restart and follow the guidance of masters of the game. You already have one sharing his story. Follow it and prepare for another application. This time, don't apply without a supervisor, if one is needed.
I was once rejected by all schools for fall 2016. So I know how you are felling. Relax, review and follow the procedure you missed.
All the best, Osemigho. Thanks bro. It's just that i don't want the same thing to happen to me again bro. I just want to know that secrets behind Canadian admission, am getting tired and frustrated. I have sent more than 50 letter of introduction to potential supervisors but no positive response except for like two of them asking me if I have received funding or scholarship from my home country. I wish to pursue Msc in Microbiology or Biotechnology... All help, advice and ideas is highly welcome. Thanks |

jnyuwa02: Try and read the resume of prospective research advisors and tailor your thesis proposal according to their area of interests. And applying to only three schools? You need to apply to the most competitive schools. No problem shooting for the stars. But be prepared at the prospect of rejection with them. Thus the need to apply second tier and lower tier schools as well. Just incase you don't reach the stars, at least you will end up somewhere. That is what I did too. I applied to a total of nine schools, McGill and Toronto included. I got rejected, but ended up at my second tier schools: Saskatchewan, Queens, Regina, Calgary and almost all my lower tier choices-- with full scholarships. I had no problem finding thesis advisors. At Saskatchewan, in fact I was offered an admission before the school looked at my Thesis/research proposal and used that to find me a supervisor. My advisor/supervisor interviewed me via Skype to make sure I was gonna be a right fit. Once he determined that, in fact he was eager to have me--especially given the fact that he found out I have been accepted at other schools and given scholarships. He even showed me around his office and the beautiful campus during the interview. My advice is for you to take a hot cup of coffee and take a deep breathe and think well and write a compelling research proposal. You should have no troubles with a powerfully written proposal. Good luck. I have sent you mail (abdullahijamiu45@gmail.com), i would need your help especially regarding introduction letter, SOP and getting research supervisor. Thanks |

Good afternoon gurus, I have some issues here which needs immediate response, Please kindly advice me on what to do please: I applied for admission at UBC, McGill and Manitoba, already rejected at UBC and McGill but Manitoba is telling me that I would be rejected if i don't get a supervisor by July 3rd, my program coordinator says he has passed my application to all faculty staffs and that I should also still continue with my search via sending the potential supervisors email, which i have sent tire with no positive response. In your own opinion sirs and mas what do you think i can do best at this moment I don't want to get rejected here again I think i have made a very big mistake for applying to only the top ranked and highly competitive university in Canada but nevertheless which university do you think i can put in for prior to Winter 2018 admission, less competitive ones and that easily accept Nigerians with good grades. I would like to pursue Msc in either Microbiology or Biotechnology. Getting a research supervisor at University of Dalhousie and Regina have been like hell, i have sent introduction letter tire but no positive response. Advise please?? I await your magnanimous response Pls. Thanks |

Osemigho: Yes ma.
Thank you for the diagnosis doc.
McGill is also competitive. Apply to less competitive ones if you can.
Interesting SOP or research interest is one that include something I shared before plus how your proposed research is very different from recent researches in your proposed field. Very technical I must say and I didn't get it at first try.
It will end with praises. Could you please suggest the less competitive ones, i would like to pursue Msc in Microbiology, Biotechnology or Immunology From your response what did you say you shared before, could you please send it to my email: abdullahijamiu45@gmail.com |

Osemigho: Forget about GRE and other exams, if your department doesn't require it. Your person probably is a US-knowledge person. About funding, you should have an idea before applying, by browsing your program website well. Now that you went for McGill- Big Gun, what's your CGPA? Hope your SOP is interesting? Did you get letter of recommendation from your UG project supervisor? My advise: apply to 2 more schools. To avoid story that touches bumbum. I also applied to McGill University, what do you mean by interesting SOP, how has is it to get admitted the? |

yemdogg: I am not in any position to determine which entry you should apply for... You are in a better position to determine that.
Pending spot remaining simply means....They have limited slots/seats available for the program and as such, when the slots are taken your chances of admission will diminish. Thanks Boss. What I meant was that which one can i go for now based on the fact i want to start the application late |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 11 by abdullahi45: 5:56pm On Jan 20, 2017 |
yemdogg: Fall is September, Summer is April/May and Winter is January.
2017 Winter is belated already.
February 1 is for entry into for September 2017.
July 31 is for entry into September 2017 (pending spot remaining)
March 31 for entry into May/June 2017.
November 1 for winter 2018.
I think. Not sure though. Which do think i should apply for? September 2017 or January 2018? And please what do they mean by Pending spot remaining? Anyone to advice on schools that offer Microbiology or Medical MCB, that require no supervisor? |

Osemigho: 40k cad for all masters or professional masters? If all, there own pass UofToronto. Anyway, at Aboki rate, a chairman calculated 378 per cad or something close to that. At form A rate, it is less than 250 per cad. You can join the prayer group asking for change of policy that will favour form A soon.
Use Access bank card for anything higher than 100 USD. Use GTB for 100 USD and lower. I used the GTB own recently and was charged around 240 per cad. I have never tried the access bank card.
I hope you have secure all other requirements like supervisor if needed. Otherwise, you are 90% about to throway some money in the air.
Shalom! THANKS BOSS |
