PoliticsRe: Opon Imo Launched By Osun Today by abes(m): 9:41am On Jun 03, 2013
Q
DOES THE DEVICE HAVE INTERNET?

A
The current version of Opón Ìmò has Internet deactivated to prevent the distraction this may cause to students at this level of education.

In addition, the Internet does not drive Opón Ìmò content, because of the unstable nature of current data networks in our country and the huge data requiremenst the device would have had.

As such, content is domiciled strictly on the Tablet.
This approach Is a Nigerian adaptation, that is believed to be suitable for developing Nations where internet connectivity can still be a challenge.

PoliticsRe: Newly Constructed Mokola Fly-over In Ibadan For Opening Today (pictures) by abes(m):
I don't think that bridge is narrow judging by the white 18-feet truck packed across under it in the picture below.

NB: Picture was taken when the bridge was still under construction.

This model can cater for that roundabout perfectly.
That bridge is only achievable if there are no buildings around (developed environment), I mean bushes like in Akwa-Ibom can still construct that kind of bridge in their town center. I can count 14 lanes from your proposed bridge, how do you intend to create enough space for it in an environment like Mokola?

A-ZeD:
1) Where in my post did i say a bullet train can be built in 2 years?
2) You say we should compare GEJ government with his predecessors: Lets take the YarÁdua government as an example:
Would you classify YarAdua as a good president? If your answer is yes, then feel free to compare but if your answer is no then saying GEJ government is better than YarÁdua's is not saying much.(E.g my sister scores 150 in Jamb and i score 180, obviously i did better than my sister but you can't say i passed jamb.)
3) I'd never judge the GEJ government on power because i know its not possible for GEJ to fix the power situation in 4 years(You can go through all my post and you'll i've stated GEJ can't fix power in 4 years)
4) Why can't GEJ and his supporters take criticism? You might be happy with mediocre things but please don't judge people based on your low standards.
That's what I call 'comparing failure with failure'

DerideGull: Why do Nigerians bent on creating irrelevance in the domain of stupidity? What is the essence of the wasteful and so-called Governor’s forum? Nigeria has State and National Assemblies lying furlough yet some goons are yarning about governor's forum. Maybe, Nigerians should request for the formation of deputy governor’s forum, first lady’s forum, swindler’s forum and kidnapper’s forum. What of dolt’s forum.

I was going to point that out, the governor of Gombe state was not present there, how come his name was on Akpabio's list?
Akpabio should be arrested, seriously, he is a real fraudster.

PoliticsRe: Michael Oluwatobi Adebowale Is The 2nd Woolwich Suspect by abes(m): 12:27pm On May 24, 2013
alexis: You keep repeating yourself. In law - we look at the MOTIVE of why a crime was committed. We are interested in the REASON why something happened. Based on that, we know how to pass judgement.
I am repeating the same questions because you refuse to answer them.
It is a fact that there is a REASON/MOTIVE for every action. Now based on the REASONS/MOTIVES of both cases, answer these questions:

Does the fact that 'Allah' was not shouted in one case make it a less severe murder case than the other where 'Allah' was shouted? (mind the victims in both cases)

Does the "LAW" defines crime with preference to religious or ethnic background?

Why do you label one a terrorist and the other not a terrorist? (Answered)

alexis: You are narrowly missing my point. Did you watch the youtube videos? Both are terrorism, the cause of concern is the MOTIVE AND INTENT. With one, it's criminal, with another, it is RELIGIOUS. That is the difference.

A thief goes to steal and when he is caught, we judge him by the motivation not his religion.

A white guy shot a black kid in Florida, it was a race issue and not a religious one

A muslims man kills an unarmed soldier and tells us he is doing it because of this faith.

Clearly, you can see the difference!

alexis: I must have pressed the wrong button huh. Please show me where the man that killed the female officers did so shouting Allah or in Allahs name? Your confusion is the difference when something is religious than when it is criminal.

Here is a video showing Michael Adebolajo with Anjem Choudary

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VNftQwvsjgw

Digest that, then turn around and re-post

The same muslim cleric refused to condemn the attack and tried to rationalized it and said the act was as a result of British foreign policy - NONSENSE.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=SXCw9X3vRTs
You still don't get it, do you?
In both cases, murder was committed and all men involved are British. In one of the cases, two men shouted 'Allah' and killed one army officer, in the other case, one man did not shout anything but killed two female police officers.

alexis: Try and show some brain work when you post online. Stop gearing off topic and don't turn this thread into a ethic clash. The denominator here is the man religious leanings, not his cultural lineage.
You and the lunatic poster you quoted have something in common, and that is 'hate' for a set of people, the lunatic poster has hate for people not from his ethnic background, and you have hate for people not from your religious background.

I present this case to you about a man in Manchester that shot and killed two female police officers last year September.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-19635239

My questions to you are:
1. Tell me how his religion influenced his action.
2. Why did you and the media not tag him terrorist.
3. Which crime in more severe, 'one' man kills two 'female' police officers, and 'two men' kill one army officer.

I just want you to know that the moment you start painting a case with ethnic or religion brush, you have lost it. It's either a man is good or bad.

Delafruita: its not their duty.the police is controlled and paid by the federal goverment.state government's arent supposed to compensate.the NPF has life insurance schemes for their officers
So they actually have the life insurance scheme. So why is the state government paying such money,do they have a budget for that? These acts prove that the governments have unrestricted access to the state money, this is really bad for democracy.
PoliticsRe: Nasarawa Gives N1m Cheque Each To Widows Of Slain Policemen by abes(m): 1:08pm On May 14, 2013
Do our government have uncounted special funds they spend on compensations?
Why is it a rocket science to make it compulsory for anyone joining the police or army to have a life insurance.
I think getting a life insurance is the way forward, because the government use this kind of gesture to gain sympathy and support, these should not be politicized.
