Ashirioluwa: A trade certificate proves that a person is qualified to work in a certain skilled trade.
It means that the person has passed a certification exam and meets all the requirements to practice their trade.
Depending on your trade, you might still need to go through certain procedures to become licensed in Canada. Thank you. |

Could anyone throw more light on the subject? |

Summerbutterfly: This is what I sent
Dear VO My name is ……… , with date of birth…… and passport number ……. , currently residing at…….., Nigeria.
I am writing this appeal with a heavy heart as I find myself caught in an overwhelming state. I wish to appeal the recent rejection of my tourist visa application which I received on the 4th of May 2023 after waiting for over 11 months for a decision.
To begin, let me emphasize that my intentions of visiting Canada are solely for the purpose of visiting my brother who is currently in Canada for the purpose of studies. My stay will be short as I intend to immediately return to my Husband and 8 month old daughter whom will not be traveling with me. (I made sure to add this, to show them that I have strong family ties in Nigeria)
Regrettably, my wish to visit my brother whom I have not seen in over 18 months has been put on hold as my visa application was rejected. I submitted my application with the utmost sincerity, ensuring that every document and requirement was fulfilled to the best of my ability.
My Canada tourist visa refusal letter was received via the IRCC website stating [I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA. Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful: Your declared history of previously refused visa application(s) to Canada or any other country]. I have to make an appeal against this justification as I do not have any history of visa rejection which is what I truthfully declared in my application.
I have applied for over 10 visas in the last 15- 20 years and I’ve been to over 20 countries. I have never overstayed in any country. The timeline of all my applications and travels are noted down below, including the reason for travel and duration of stay.
(I went on to list my most recent travels and I attached visas issued by other countries) Gracias |

rittyben: I just noticed that booking Qatar Airways with waķa now is cheaper than booking directly from Qatar Airways app! I thought booking from the airline directly is usually cheaper? Have you looked at the ticket composition? - 2 check-in bags vs 1 - stop over/layover - Refundable/Non-refundable - Same date? |

Summerbutterfly: Hello everyone,
Some of you may remember when I posted here in May. I mentioned that I had robust travel history (I’ve been to over 20 countries but my visa application was denied)
Update on my case: so I appealed the visa denial that I got in May and I just received my PPR
I submitted along with my parents and my father received his PPR last month… his passport has been stamped with a 10 year visa (he renewed his passport before submitting)
Still waiting for an update on my mom’s case.
I got the idea to appeal from this page. Thank you everyone Could you share with us how you appealed the decision? |

Ashirioluwa: Yes, the child will need it since he or she will be traveling as a visitor.
Although I entered Canada this Monday and wasn’t asked to show a return ticket, I still believe those traveling with visitor visas need to have one in hand in case they need to show it.
Some airlines will not even allow you to check in if you don't have a return ticket. How was your trip? May the land favour you - Asę Oya gist us!!! |

[sub][/sub] mulberry: From my GCMS notes, the Visa Officer thought that we wanted to "Japa" as we applied that we were also travelling with our kids who were US citizens. This time we just told them we were going alone and leaving our kids behind then we opened a joint account and put our savings in the joint account. I would say that different VO different vices. This time around a friend just wrote a letter and we didn't add anything like his PR card or work document like the previous application. and after that denial, i have also travelled to the uk, US and some African countries. So who knows what worked this time! Thanks for sharing. |

mulberry: Good morning All,Silent reader.
my first application was in 2018 and i was denied. It pained me because i thought it was easy peasy as i had a valid Us visa in my passport and my friend in Canada wrote me an invitation and added all her legal documents.
Fast-forward to April this year, i thought to try again.
Just checked the tracker this morning and say Visa expiry date and Visitor Visa Document number My Timeline Application April 12 2023 Bvl 23rd June 2023
Tracker update 27 June 2023
On God waiting for PPR and update for my husbands application. Hi. Congrats on your PPR. Could you state why your first application was denied? Even with an invitation letter? Wow! Please state reasons for refusal so we can learn. |

SweetJJ: Please guys, I want to ask. With this naira decline wahala, people that applied 2020, 2021, 2022 even early 2023, do you guys have to send an updated statement of account? Like you applied with 5mil when it is equivalent to 20kcad and now that amount is just about 9kcad. Do you need to send an updated statement of account?
To be precise, my mom applied for her visit visa with 5mil, when it was about 14kcad and explained she planned to use 10kcad for the travel. Now the whole 5mil is not even upto 10kcad again. Any need for updated statement of account? What's the best way to deal with this. It's worrisome how naira keeps falling They don’t use black market rate though. |

I sent passport to Lagos. Will the passport be sent to Lagos or I have to contact Abuja CVO for onward transmission?
