sikowitz17: anybody that says they have military past questions in general wan scam you bro.. except if it’s NDA compendium and that one is for regulars.. just read your general knowledge and current affairs.. doe me I’ve not written navy’s exam before so I don’t know how it usually is.. I only applied once in 2016, and I’ve never applied again for navy.
sikowitz17: The exam won’t be useless bro... a lot of people would be selected because of how they wrote the exam.. even previous enlistments I met a lot of guys at the screening that didn’t know anybody and they are officers now.. I know people from here that were heartbroken for navy today.. some with even some connections sef.. they didn’t see their name meanwhile my friend that casually applied and didn’t even bother checking the list since morning.. she just got a text from navy informing her that she was shortlisted for the test just now sef.. so connections Dey.. merit Dey
Same with me. But does anyone here have the list? And what about past questions?
IamDavid: Well, there are very tenable excuses but they don't even count. The thing is, I'm ready to start afresh, I just want to be sure it's the right thing to do (and the only way out). I actually know a lot of lecturers with 2.2 and even third class, it's just the stiff competition and current unemployment rate that is bothering me.
With the way Nigeria is going, please don't even think of lecturing in Nigeria. If you are so passionate about it, please look for a legit means to leave the country and go and lecture overseas. Lecturing in Nigeria is not worth it.
There are dozens of things out there that can fetch you real money. But if you are so passionate about lecturing, please don't do it in this country.
IamDavid: Hi people, I just graduated with a 2.2 in one of the sciences. (CGPA 3.3). I admit that was due to my carelessness. Recently, I have this strong ambition to become a university lecturer and rise to the peak of my career.
Now, these are my concerns. What are the chances of getting a lecturing job (after I might have gotten my PhD) considering the 2.2 Bsc result? Or it doesn't matter once there are higher qualifications?
Is it worthwhile to sit for JAMB again and start all afresh? I'm still in my mid twenties and the drive is high. I know I can do it, but is it necessary / worth it?
Make sure your masters or PhD is from a school abroad. If you can get this, you are good to go. If not, you might struggle a bit.
Possibly, the only reason she didn't call the cops is cos she's there as an illegal immigrant. If she were a legal immigrant, a simple act of recording the said guy would have sufficed.
What the heck is immoral about an adult wearing a mini-skirt? Some Africans are just plain stupid.
lalasticlala: "....but If it is your husband, wetin you go there go do...?" - Anita Joseph
Curvy actress, Anita Joseph-Olagunju and her younger husband, MC Fish have sparked controversy after their video talking about marital rape went viral.
Anita Joseph shared the controversial video on her Instagram Page, where she and her husband discussed the sensitive subject.
She said a friend of hers told her that she was raped by her husband and she wants to report him to the police or other agencies that handle such matters. She wanted to seek Anita's opinion and advice.
Anita Joseph's response suggests that there is nothing like 'marital rape' or rape in marriage.
This has sparked outrage online as many are dragging the couple on social media while others are supporting the actress.
But what if the woman is tired or not in the mood for sex and the husband forces himself on her by taking it by force?
Forget all the analysis you hear from people. The only reason sexual intercourse between a couple without the consent of either isn't rape is cos the law says so. Rape is purely a legal issue. Anything out of the law is simply off point.
Donald95: For me, I concluded my schooling (Caritas Private University) and service when i was 22 years. I stayed with my widowed mother till i became 24. That 2 years was full time war because I battled within myself over my non- educated friends that are mostly into tanker and Container motor drivers flourishing while me that much is expected from had nothing but "thank you" whenever i finish eating my mums food ( not jealousy though)
Mid of my 24 years, i moved in to stay with my sister in Enugu. Away from home, i was more free to engage my self no matter how humiliating the work look.
I started with Teaching. I was paid 15k per month, after 5 or 6 months of saving, i rented my own apartment, Used the remaining money to buy rice, tomato paste and beans in large quantities. I made good savings before the year ran out.
The next year, i opened a phone charging place and employed a girl while I was still teaching . Money started flowing in small small. I had about 300k few months later so, I opened Firstmonie outlet.
I started massive saving. I was targeting to open an iron company where i will sell building materials last 2 years, but the required capital is too much so, I went into rice.
I am Thankful to God for where i am today.
You can still make it if you don't have a job. Just start as small as possible.
Move away from home and squat with your sibling or good friend if you are too ashamed or not free to engage yourself.
What's the start-up capital for building materials business?
AmIaYahooGirl: Hello Nls, I'm not really someone who listens to what people say but I just want to share this so that y'all can air your views.
I'm a young girl, 23 and an orphan, dropped out of school and came to Lagos to make ends meet. When I first came to Lagos, I stayed with a married female cousin of mine, along the line, the husband started making advances to me which I politely declined. He got angry and told his wife to throw me out of the house, and yes she did.
I was thrown out of the house without anywhere to go and as someone who has survived losing both parents at such a young age, I literally lived and survived in the streets. Did all sorts of menial jobs, hawked purewater, soft drinks, worked in a bar and all that before I finally got an apartment.
The story isn't quite necessary but when I get talking with people and I tell them that I stay alone, next thing I'll hear is "you're too young to stay alone... it's not a good idea...blah blah blah. Some older woman even told me to go back to my cousin's house and beg them so I can continue staying with them, another told me that it's better I stay with my boyfriend than staying alone.
I really don't understand all these talks, like despite all I've been through, isn't staying alone the best option? Or is there something wrong with staying alone as a single young lady?
pompeiimagnus: Ambitious idea, but how do you pump it back into the economy? That's the major problem, and this leads to inflation where everyone is "rich" but the money can't buy anything at the market because prices of goods and services will be very high.
Printing reasonably NOT over-printing. 50k into everyone's account isn't a bad idea.
softset: $2600 is not a lot of money if you live in Canada. How long will it take you to spend that?
If you will no longer return to Nigeria because of that amount, I sympathize with your situation.
I agree it ain't a lot of money. But remember when the whole thing first started, the Canadian government asked them not to bother themselves about rent. And I learnt the people got foodstuff delivered to them.
Canada's budget this year is $355 billion for 24 million people.
Nigeria's budget this year is $26 billion for 200 million people.
And you expect Nigeria to give palliative of N626000 naira per person or per family?
Nigeria is a mess, but we are not up to Canada's level. Vote for governments who would make us an industrial nation, then we can talk.
To all those people cursing Nigeria up-thread...yes, we have had corrupt governments. But there is no way our government can afford to give stimulus of N626,000 naira to everyone. Not on our budget, without taking even more mega loans.
Modified
Even giving 100million Nigerians N50000 each a month would involve spending the equivalent of our budget for the year in one month.($26 Billion)
What if they did it the MONEY HEIST style by asking the CBN to keep printing notes.
ochampions: Hello house. Please I'm new here and I will appreciate your support. I want to know if I can write IELTS before proceeding for WES.
Start your evaluation first, please. That way, you have ample time to prepare for IELTS.
If your certificate is from a Nigerian university esp. the state and Federal, your evaluation would take about 3 months. Use two months to prepare for IELTS and sit!. Hopefully, you max it on your first attempt.
