Nigerian filmmaker and President of the Association of Nollywood Core Producers (ANCOP), Mr. Alex Eyengho has been elected as the Vice President of the International Federation of Film Producers Associations (FIAPF). With his election, Mr. Eyengho made history as the first African to occupy the high office in FIAPF.
Created in 1933, FIAPF is the only existing global trade organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of the legal, economic and creative interests of film producers throughout the world. FIAPF is to film producing at global level what Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) is to the game of football.
The election of Eyengho came during the General Assembly of FIAPF held in Cannes, France on May 18, 2013. It would be recalled that through the efforts and platform of ANCOP, Nigeria was in May 2011 officially admitted into the membership of FIAPF during the Cannes International Film Festival in France.
While addressing international journalists shortly after his election, Mr. Eyengho who thanked FIAPF members from over 28 countries of the world for the confidence reposed in him with the election, stated that his victory was not for ANCOP alone but for Nigeria and Africa as a whole.

Former Big Brother Africa Winner,Wendall Parson has been arrested by the Zimbabwean police on Fraud allegations involving $25,000 in car insurance.
“I can confirm that we have arrested Wendall Parson on allegation of lodging a false insurance claim with Alliance Insurance Company,” Supt Phiri said.
Police suspect that the car was not insured when it crashed while Parson was travelling from the city of Bulawayo to the capital Harare.“On 16 March this year the accused, travelling in a Ford Ranger from Bulawayo, had an accident, he then insured the same vehicle on 18 March and tried to claim an amount of $25, 000 as insurance for the vehicle.
“Alliance then got suspicious and launched an investigation which led to his arrest.”
The BBA star will appear in court soon, Police spokesperson Superintendent Phil confirmed on Sunday.
He was arrested on Friday.
Wendall was given $50, 000 cash by President Robert Mugabe in addition to the $200, 000 prize money he received for winning the popular television reality show two years ago in which Karen Igho also won.

Nigerian music superstar,Wizkid, yesterday won big at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2013.
He won the African Artiste of the year for 2013.
Earlier on, he made his much anticipated entry onto the stage. He brought his game on proving to Ghanaians why he is currently hottest act on the African continent. He thrilled his audience to some of his smash hits including Baddest Boy, The Matter and Samba.

A Federal High Court in Lagos has ruled that the manufacturers of "My pikin teething syrup",Barewu Manufacturers should be permanently closed down while the company looses its assets to the federal government.Also,Justice Okechukwu Okeke also sentenced Adeyemo Abiodun and Ebele Eromosele, two employees of the company, to seven years imprisonment.
It would be recalled that My Pikin Teething Syrup was alleged to have killed over 80 children in the country and it was dragged to court by NAFDAC.

The biggest reality show in Africa, Big Brother Africa is back for the 8th season, and this year’s edition is titled The Chase.
