Desola: Indeed, I do believe that the SW and Northern Nigeria are weakened militarily.

Has the SW ever really had military might?

Either way the cookie crumbles, it would be for the benefit of the Yorubas so long the division is peaceful and the Yorubas do not mount any opposition to the division.
Yes Yorubas are the lucky one but I don't think the north will willingly free them. gringrin
Like I've always stressed, it's important that any new estates are built to international standards; serviced with utilities (or on-going constructions done with provision made for future need/use of said utilities) like gas, broadband, underground electric cables....and other facilities like small communal parks and train/bus stations. An idea of what i have in mind can be seen in the design for the new Golf estate they're planning for Enugu.

We need to think/plan ahead for the future and not allow wealthy individuals and land speculators to buy up land, and build houses in a haphazard/higgledy-piggledy fashion!
That's where they always got it wrong or maybe they hardly think about it.
Until they start considering those things u listed above in all the modern estate built in the nigerian cities...
We are still far behind smh.

Chime is an intelligent gentle man who allows his works to speak for themselves instead of spending millions of naira to advertise a common road painting and other minor patching of roads.
This is where other governors
can spent /waste millions of naira trying to tell Abuja and other gullible nigerias what they've achieved.

You cannever know the beauty of Enugu until you mistakenly find yourself in that part of the world.

Again, when next time you ppl are discussing about eastern cities with clean and leaveable environment Abakaliki the Ebonyi state capital cannever be ignored no matter how little you have heard about the town.
It makes me sick when some ppl rate out of ignorance and emotion some little town in the East above Abakaliki.
I'm not here to derail this thread with the talk of another town order than Enugu but let me quickly ring it into ur ears that Abakaliki is the next BEST organized town after Enugu.
Its a bitter truth but we have to swallow itgrin

Enugu bu nnukwu Obodo.

Sincere 9gerian: @Chino..,Thanks for the pictures. Never mind those who are trying to diminish the whollistic development of Peter Obi in the last 7 years. We know what Anambra was like Pre-Peter Obi era and what it is now. Things can only get better from now onwards.

I only pity those who compare Peter Obi and Chime. Chime did very well in road construction mostly in the city centre but outside that, his performance in all others sectors is very poor or zero. For instance, basic public schools in Enugu are decayed. The govt has done nothing about job creation, industralization, human capital development, etc. Even in the area of health, the performance is poor. Frankly speaking, I'm not impressed with Chime. For me, road construction is good but not enough.

kama1210: MOD what's happenning that this crucial thread is not in FP? Some Eboyians in diaspora may find it helpful and it should help us get more results.....where are the nairaland's in Ebonyi, report asap.
Do you expect this thread to appear on front page? it is not possible because 1,it is kidnapping story. 2,it not rape incident. 3,it is not robbery case, and finally it is not about poverty.
Do you understand now?grin

@op, why is it that we Ebonyians is not showing our face in this forum?
Each time there is a new from the state you ppl hardly contribute anything that's why this ur post didnot see the light of the day.
Let put it you that, you guys from the southern part of the state are too proud to be indenfied with the state. Most of you are denying of being an Ebonyians.
My prayer is that "anyone who deny his state both in good or in bad terms will not rip the benefit of the state"
Politics › Re: Ebonyi State Hold' Local Governments Elections Today...let's Have Your Report by achi4u(m): 4:28pm On Oct 05, 2013
@op you are right to an extend, but same thing is applicable to the whole country. So,you shouldn't narrow it down to Ebonyi state alone.
Yes,so many of the candidates were already hand-picked by their godfathers before this election just like any other elections/selections elsewhere but there's still other strong contenders from other parties like APUGA,AC and the rest...so some strong oppositions might still win the election.

I think you are not closer to some developmental stride going on in the state which are to numerous to mention ..Mind you I'm not in anywhere near govt contract or being an opportunist to those in power but I tell the truth whenever I see one.
The old is trying compare to his counterparts with mega resources.

@election post.
I'm not moving from ward to ward in order to know what is going on,election in this country is too backward to my liking ...so I stay at the fence and watch grin

Why is it that some people are afraid of this sovereign national conference (SNC)?
Whatever be the president Goodluck Jonathan's ambition towards this conference ,SS,SE and SW is solidly behind him.
We cannt afford to see GEJ lose 2015 election, instead let the country go their separate ways with no blood shed.

Anything will speed up the separation is highly well come.
Politics › Re: Ebonyi State Hold' Local Governments Elections Today...let's Have Your Report by achi4u(m): 12:31pm On Oct 05, 2013
Your right on the imposition of some candidate before the election.
Ezza south LGA chairman for instance celebrated his "none oppose" two months ago before this election.

Same with other areas of the state, the truth is that the state is running a one party system which means if ur not in the wining party you are. automatically out.

Accreditation has stop by 12pm and normal voting were in process.

I'm here live in the state capital Abakaliki and watching how security personal were harassing ppl moving about the streets.

In fact,They just stop ppl from going out of their normal businesses knowing fully well their already political maneuvering.

B2 mario: nice contribution. With due respect, many 4storeys, 3 and 2 were knocked down in orlu even filling stations and reputable resturants in places like owus avenue, amaigbo road, bank road, owerri road etc to pave way for dual carriage roads. They wanted to extend the amaigbo road from orlu main city to adjunct like nkwerre and amaifeke but nkwerre people rejected it because they dont want their houses to be demolished. And dont forget that El' Rufai did it in Abuja where big hotels were also affected. So nothing is impossible!
Yea! nothing is impossible but Nnewi case mighty be a serious case.

Let them maintain the one they have now. That town is too congested and densly populated.
