In the Book of Jonah, God sent Jonah to Nineveh to preach to the people about the dangers of not honoring Him and keeping His commandments.

Jonah instead of going to Nineveh ran away in the opposite direction to Tarshish.

While in the ship going to Tarshish, the ship encountered great turbulence due to harsh storm that took over the sea.

The sailors later discovered that Jonah was responsible for this turbulence and storm on the sea.
And so they cast him out of the ship into the sea where God allowed a fish to swallow him.

While in the belly of the fish, Jonah repented and asked God for forgiveness.

God forgave Jonah and still sent him to Nineveh, when Jonah preached to the people of Nineveh they repented of their sins and God forgave them and did not destroy the city of Nineveh.

Praise God! Endeavor to tell someone about God today, it may help them to stay alive if they repent.

Many of us murmur and complain too much and too often.

Instead of thanking God for our situations we would stay and grumble and complain all the much that we can.

God hates our complaining and grumbling. He is displeased with our continuous ingratitude.

In Exodus He punished the Israelites severally for their complaining and grumbling in the wilderness and they spent 40 years traveling for a journey that should last only 40 days. How awesome!

In the book of Jonah 3 and 4. After Jonah had preached to the people of Nineveh and they repented, God decided not to punish and destroy them has He initially planned to.

This annoyed Jonah and he was very upset, “This change of plans greatly upset Jonah, and he became very angry. So complained to the Lord about it. “Didn’t I say before I left home that you would do this, Lord? That is why I ran away to Tarhsish! I knew that You are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people. Just kill me now, Lord! I’d rather be dead than alive if what I predicted will not happen” Jonah 4:1-3

Malicious witnesses testify against me. They accuse me of crimes I know nothing about. They repay me evil for good. I am sick with despair. Yet when they were ill, I grieved for them. I denied myself by fasting for them, but my prayers returned unanswered.

How long, O Lord, will you look on and do nothing? Rescue me from their fierce attacks. Protect my life from these lions!Then I will thank You before all the people. Don’t let my treacherous enemies rejoice over my defeat.

I was sad as though they were my friends or family, as if I were grieving for my own mother. But they are glad now that I am in trouble; they gleefully join together against me.

After oppressing the poor and crushing those in need, people still have the heart to go to the house of God to give offerings and offer sacrifices. Isn’t that a waste of precious time and resources?

Okay, you want to know if it is a waste of time or not, then read Amos 4: 4-5 (NLT)

Go ahead and offer sacrifices at Gilgal (at your church, your places of worship). Offer sacrifices each morning and bring your tithes every three days- present your bread made with yeast as an offering of thanksgiving. Then give your extra voluntary offerings so you can brag about it everywhere! This is the kind of thing you Israelites (you Christians) love to do, “says the Sovereign Lord”

“Don’t say such things”, the people respond. “Don’t prophesy like that. Such disaster will never come our way!”

When you preach the true word of God to them, telling them the curses of God on prostitutes, God’s judgment on wicked people, murderers and other sinners, they will tell you that it is not true, that such cannot happen to them even though they continue in their evil ways and deeds.

God is asking, “Should you take talk that way, family of Israel? Will the Lord’s Spirit have patience with such behavior? If you would do what is right, you would find my words comforting” Micah 2:7

Yes if you are doing the right thing and I preach to you about pending disasters that God is warning you of, you won’t be afraid and you won’t feel offended but you will be glad at receiving the message of God. But if you are doing evil you will be displeased when the message of God is brought to you. You will argue that is not for you even when you are as guilty as guilt!

Your sins that God is talking about includes, opposing the commandments of the Most High God, stealing from and oppressing the poor, people who puts their trust in you, people who entrusted you with their resources, widows, orphans and others. And you prefer the prophets that are full of lies that will tell you contrary things to the word of God (Read Micah 3:8-11)

God is telling you to desist from these behaviors today. Don’t think because you have been doing it for years, decades and nothing has happened then you believe nothing will happen. Sorry, God is only delaying your judgment day with the hope that you will repent. But if you refuse to repent and continue your murderous acts, God’s punishment will come upon you sooner than you can imagine!

Many rich and wealthy people are wicked and insincere in their dealings with people particularly the poor and needy.

I have seen neighbors that just because they bought a second-hand car become very arrogant to the extent that they oppress their other neighbors who have no car.

The bible has this to say about such people, “What sorrow awaits you who lie awake at night, thinking up evil plans. You rise at dawn and hurry to carry them out, simply because you have the power to do so” Micah 2:1

This wickedness of the wealthy people have been existing from time, that is why we have it stated in the bible several times, God warning the rich that oppresses the poor to be careful because he is the creator of all, both the poor and the rich.

Look at the illustration Jesus Christ gave in the New Testament about the Rich man and Lazarus the beggar. It is a typical example of the kind of way that the rich oppresses the poor.

Some people go through sleepless nights not planning positive things but planning the evil and hurts they will commit against another man; maybe their neighbor, colleague in the office or a relative.

The bible says; the rich oppressors like our political leaders are fond of cheating the poor, seizing their lands when they want it. When they want someone’s house, they take it by fraud and violence. They cheat a man of his property, stealing his family’s inheritance, (Read Micah 2:2)

As a child of God you get to sin at one time or the other. The Bible in the Book of Ecclesiastes 7: 20 say “Not a single person on earth is always good and never sins”. So no man should claim to be a saint. As long as God does not permit deliberate sinning, He is also aware that as human we will sin but what is expected of us when we sin is to quickly repent and ask God for forgiveness.

Jonah sinned against God by not obeying His command to go to Nineveh to preach to the people. After realizing his sin of disobedience to the Almighty God, Jonah repented and prayed this prayer:

“I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and He answered me. I called to You from the land of the dead (when I was sick and distressed), and Lord, You heard me! You threw me into the ocean (problems) depths and I sank down to the heart of the sea. The mighty waters engulfed me. I was buried beneath Your wild and stormy waves (trails, tribulations).

“Then I said, ‘O Lord, You have driven me from Your presence. Yet I will look once more toward Your holy Temple’. I sank beneath the waves, and the waters closed over me. Seaweed wrapped itself around my head. I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth, whose gates lock shut forever. But You, O Lord my God, snatched me from the jaws of death!”

“As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to You in Your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to You with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone”

According to the Word of God, after this prayer God ordered the fish which had swallowed Jonah to spit him out onto the beach. He was in the belly of the fish when he prayed this prayer to God and God forgave him.

Why a Woman Should Not Disrespect Her Husband

“Listen to me, you fat cows living in Samaria, you women who oppress the poor and crush the needy, and who are always calling to your husbands, “Bring us another drink!” The Sovereign Lord has sworn this by His holiness: “The time will come when you will be led away with hooks in your noses. Every last one of you will be dragged away like a fish on a hook!” Amos 4: 1-2 (NLT)

Women, listen and obey the voice of the Lord. Your women liberation has blinded most of you. I truly don’t know anyway what this “women liberation” thing is all about, as if you were slaves before! Now because of your so-called liberation, your husbands have become your servants and houseboys because you earn more.

Yet you go to church, pay tithe and claim to know God. Yet you don’t even know what the laws of the Lord nor what the Lord Almighty is saying.

If you refuse to change your dishonoring ways, just because you have amass to yourself some wealth, God says he will take away your prosperity!

Be careful; don’t allow the wrath of God on you. Respect your husband, your husband is not to be treated like your servant or like you would treat your brother or a colleague in the office or better still your servant. Your husband is your head, so says the word of God. Inasmuch as you remain his wife, if he places a curse on you, the curse will follow you all the days of your life.

And even when your husband does not curse you, God already has curses for you. Read Amos 4: 3 (NLT), “You will be led out through the ruins of the wall; you will be thrown from your fortresses,” says the Lord.

Search for an easy to read bible that you can read with understanding. I pray that God will open your eyes to understand what He is saying to you.

This is what the Lord says: “you false prophets are leading my people astray! You promise peace for those who give you food, but you declare war on those who refuse to feed you” Micah 3:5

Yes you Nigerian pastors are leading the people astray, you confuse the people with your false prophesy, they are not following God’s commandment because of your vague promises you make to them.

Have you noticed that anywhere in the bible where God is warning leaders, He also warns the pastors and false prophets? Sometimes I wonder if these pastors and Bible researchers notice this parts of the bible at all or if they do and just ignore it.

You pray and prophesy when people buy cars, houses for you and give you large amounts of money but you treat others like piece of trash and of no significance.

Listen to the warnings of the Lord: “Now the night will close around you, cutting off all your visions. Darkness will cover you, putting an end to your predictions. The sun will set for you prophets, and your day will come to an end” Micah 3:6

God is going to embarrass you and bring disgrace on you because you have failed in your duties and responsibilities to Him; your duties of telling the people the truth about the word of God, warning them of the impending dangers of refusing to obey the commandments of God.

You wicked leaders the only time you remember God is when you are seeking elections into political offices. Then, you run after men of God seeking their prayers to God to help you win.

The truth is that an anointed man of God can pray for anyone and they will receive answer from God what he asks for, but what will sustain that blessing is you keeping the commandments of God. Obeying His instructions and doing what is right.

God says, “Listen you leaders of Israel! (Nigerian leaders) you are supposed to know right from wrong, but you are the very ones who hate good and love evil. You skin my people alive and tear the flesh from their bones” Micah 3: 1-2

So many people deliberately refuse to acknowledge God, they respect the devil and his antiques because of the fear of the evil he can do to them. They fail to realize that devil is unable to do anything to a child of God except if God permits it.

As it is, devil is unable to act independently on a child of God without the knowledge of God. Sometimes, God permits the devil to tempt His child to test him to see if he would deny Him, backslide and follow the devil.

Take a look at Job in the bible, look at Christ and others that were tempted by the devil. God permitted the devil to tempt them. Look at all the bad things that happened to Job (he lost all his children in one day, lost his business empire and properties in one day). The bible described Job as a blameless man who pleased God in all his doings. And yet God permitted all these to happen to him.

You must know that devil is always angry at the privileges that God has given us as His children; he sought permission from God to make bad things happen to Job and see if Job would not curse God. Job knowing the tricks of the devil did not submit himself to the will of the devil but to the will of the Almighty God.

So God is aware of all things happening to you and He is watching you. But we humans are so foolish in our thinking, we prefer to believe the devil rather than take the words of God and act upon them. Amos 3:5 says, “When the ram’s horn blows a warning, shouldn’t the people be alarmed? Does disaster come to a city unless the Lord has planned?

So God is aware of whatever is happening to you, He knows what will happen and when it will happen. However He reveals it to some of His prophets so that they can warn the people beforehand. He used several prophets in the bible like Noah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Joel to warn the people of impending dangers, just like I am saying to you today; God is angry about your continuous sins, He is angry with the country and the church for many sins committed by the people and the leaders.

“Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until He reveals His plan to His servants the prophets. The lion has roared- so who isn’t frightened? The Sovereign Lord has spoken- so can refuse to proclaim His message?” Amos 3:7-8

This is the message from God: “My people have forgotten how to do right, says the Lord. “Their fortresses (bank accounts) are filled with wealth taken by theft and violence (wealth gotten through stealing, corruption, money-rituals, armed robbery etc) Amos 3:10

His punishment for these murderous sinners is in Amos 3:11-12C, “Therefore,” says the Sovereign Lord, “an enemy is coming! He will surround them and shatter their defenses. Then He will plunder all their fortresses” (God is sending disaster upon all ill-gotten monies, whether in the bank or invested in businesses and properties)

No matter how much you try to make the money clean through laundering and investment, God will trace all ill-gotten money and those who tries to get it or save it will be able to get maybe just a percentage of the ill-gotten wealth by the time God finish dealing with them.

Beware of The Company You Keep

The companies we keep can either help us through life to achieve success or can put us in serious troubles and danger and can set us back in life.


Places we go to and people we interact with can put us in serious problems both spiritually and physically.

Let me tell you a little story before I continue the subject of this message: In the Old Testament God used several prophets and ordinary people to carry out His work. Some of these people and prophets went through great ordeals to deliver the work of God.

For instance, Jeremiah was severally arrested by the people and sometimes thrown into well and jail because he was sent by God to deliver His judgment to the people of Israel. Attempt was made severally on His life but he obeyed God all through.
Ezekiel was tied down in his room for days because God did not want him to speak a word to anyone. There was also an instance where he ate excrete because God told him.

Hosea was made to marry a prostitute because God wanted to make Israel understand the curse of prostituting and idolatry. The man suffered the pains of marrying a famous prostitute and partakes in what he did not directly cause.

Many others went through ordeals just to serve God and deliver His judgment and message to the people.

Maybe this is why Jonah became afraid to do the work of God when he was sent by God to deliver His message to the people of Nineveh. In the Book of Jonah 1; God sent Jonah to the city of Nineveh, He said, “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh. Announce my judgment against it because I have seen how wicked its people are” Jonah 1:2 (NLT)

“But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He went down to port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish” Jonah 1:3 (NLT)

The same way we meet our friends we hadn’t seen in years, we don’t know if he is running away from the law. We don’t know if he had committed a crime somewhere and he is running away. We don’t know if he just killed a man and police is looking for him. That is why you need to be careful of the company you keep.

Most people think as soon as they confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and savior everything instantly changes physically for them, even if they had been hired assassins, armed robbers and prostitutes.

Unfortunately, God doesn’t work like that. Now that you are Born-again, God has truly forgiven you and He will bless you because He says, He will bless those who follow Him and obeys His commandments.

But let me disappoint you a little so that when you become Born-again and haven’t don’t receive immediate miracle you won’t backslide like many so-called Christians today

Believe it or not there is reward for being arrogant and proud. The Lord says to Edom, “I will cut you down to size among the nations; you will be greatly despised. You have been deceived by your own pride because you live in a rock fortress and make your home high in the mountains. ‘Who can ever reach us way up here?’ you ask boastfully” Obadiah 2 (NLT)

So many people are often too proud because of their material possession, position and influence that they see themselves as extra-ordinary people and become very boastful. They say they are untouchable, they are invincible, and they in fact almost compare themselves to God Almighty in their boastful and arrogance pride!

There are too many hypocritical Christians and religious people in the world today. Truly hypocrites have been in existence since the time of the old. Amos a farmer was sent by God Almighty to warn hypocrites to change their ways. Even Jesus Christ our Lord and savior warned against hypocrites in the New Testament.

A lot of Christians are pretenders and hypocrites, they are saints when they are in church but check them out when they get to their homes, they are something else. They know how to give millions as offerings in the church but cannot give hundred naira to a beggar on the street.

They know how to sing songs of praise and worship on Sundays but Bob Marley and Kayane West are their favorites on the other days of the week, what a pity!

Can you keep on sinning and expect grace to abound? Can you keep on cheating people and expect that things will continually be good for you? Repent of your sins now, God is calling you to repentance that is the only way out for you.

The real enemies of your dream are not those you perceive s your enemies, your real enemies are those that you think that they love you but are the indirect or direct cause of your life issues.

Some examples of real enemies re parents who prefer one child to the other, like Jacob, he preferred his son Joseph to the others, even bought him coats of many colors to show that he was preferred above his other brethren.

you simply cooperating with people to achieve greatness or collaborating with them? If you are striving for excellence and higher-level thinking, collaboration is the way to go. The difference—cooperation is working well together while collaboration is “wanting” to work together. In the great words of John Maxwell, "... completing one another is more important than competing with one another."

There is a great difference between collaboration and cooperation.

When you cooperate with a partner or a team, it means you and partner or team sits down together and work together.

When you collaborate with a partner or a team, you sit down with the partner or team and you want to work together to achieve a common goal.

There is a difference between just getting together to work and cooperating- That's good though! It is however different from wanting to cooperate together individually.


That's what makes collaboration such an higher level word than just cooperation.

Those enemies who God have allowed to oppress you over a period of time because of your sins will receive their punishments from God as you repent of your sins in this month of September.
Hear what the word of God says in the Book of Joel chapter 3 from verse 1 to 3 says:

Less than an hour after Dino Melaye the presidential spokesman for the PDP posted photos of him and some PDP members which he captioned "At Atiku's country home in Dubai", the senator has taken off the post.

He has since replaced the post with another caption, "At Atiku's country home in Jada, Adamawa State" but using the same photo he had earlier posted captioned, "At Atiku's country home in Dubai".

However, some fans who had seen the earlier post, still came for him under the comment section, questioning the integrity of the former senator, who obviously realized the flaws in posting photos of a Nigerian presidential candidate being visited in his country-home in Dubai.

Some Nigerian fans of Senator Dino Melaye have blasted him after he posted a photo of himself, Atiku Abubakar, PDP presidential candidate for the Nigeria's 2023 presidential election in what he captioned "At Atiku's country home in Dubai".

Dino Melaye who is the official spokesman for the presidential candidate, was one of the delegates who visited Abubakar in his Dubai home.

The picture displays a mansion home sitting room in Dubai, and some of the former senator's fans on his Facebook page have blasted him, saying the post was tantamount to campaigning against his political party.

The problem with many people particularly young people is not that they don’t have ideas or they are not talented, the problem is that many young talented people are not patient and therefore cannot persevere to succeed in their chosen field, business and creativity.

I have never seen nor heard of any successful person who made it overnight! If you have read about most great business people, entrepreneur and inventors whether presently or in the past, none of them succeeded overnight.

Success can only be achieved through continuous practicing, devotion, perseverance, hope and believe in what you are doing.

There is no business that does not have it’s own ups and downs syndrome, sometimes you may even need to change what you are doing to something different but what you should never do is to give up.

If you give up, you are as good as dead, as long as you are alive you must continue to do what you are doing, as long as what you are doing is legal and you have the talent for it, if you don’t stop doing it, you will eventually succeed.

It is not enough to be doing something legal, it must also be something that you have the creativity and talent for. People have varied talents, what you are gifted in is different from what I am gifted in, if I leave my gift and pursue yours I may never be successful, but if I identify my own talent and follow it up diligently, success is surely guaranteed.

As a gifted writer, I have been writing since 1995 but the first time I earned money through writing was in 2010 that was fifteen years after I started writing. But ever since then, my writing skills, ideas and how to use it to make money as continually improved and increased. At least on a daily basis now, I make a little amount of money through my writing, no matter how little it is.

The simple response to this is; Muslims have no conditions for their prayers to be answered while Christians have conditions for their prayers to be answered.

In the book of Genesis 17:19-20; Then God said, “Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation.(NIV)

There was a covenant that Isaac MUST keep for his kingdom to be established, but Ishmael was not given any condition for his kingdom to be established. No covenant, no condition for him to be blessed.

But there was a condition for Isaac to be blessed, see it here in, Genesis 17:21 "But my covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you by this time next year." (NIV)

Therefore, every lineage of Abraham, for your prayers to be granted, you MUST work with a covenant seed.

God Can Use Your Enemy's Friend To HELP You: 1 Samuel 20.

Now David had become very popular in Israel, like many young political appointees in today's world can become popular, even more than their principals, to the extent that are being groomed for the leaders' position.

David became a threat to King Saul's position, as it seemed that the people of Israel preferred him over Saul, because of his war records.

Just like in the present day where an appointee becomes a preferred candidate than the one who appointed him, most of the time, the incumbent usually have a way of leading such a preferred candidate to their death.

It always like, if he didn't appoint him, he would never have been know, come to think of it, if David didn't meet Saul, and Saul didn't appoint him, he would never have been known, not to talk of becoming the preferred leader.

Most times, these leaders have all the state resources at their disposals, (soldiers, police and other security forces) and they have so much money and power to even employ the service of a hired killer.

They always have a means to put away a perceived enemy, especially someone who has become a threat to their position, particularly if such a person has become the preferred choice of the people.

This is the situation that David had found himself at this particular time we are talking about. Saul was seeking all means to exterminate him, so would no longer be a threat to his position.

David ran away from the city, just like many oppositions today would go on exile, when there is threat to their lives.

He met Jonathan, close son of Saul and the heir to his throne. Jonathan was very close to his father, Saul, he was a "real friend" of Saul.

In some modern quotes you would often hear; "the friend of your enemy is your enemy". What they are trying to say, is that anyone close to your enemy can be the instrument to be used to destroy, as the enemy may not have chance to come close to you. So, most often, people keep away from anyone that is close to their perceived enemies.

But in this case, because of the blessings and favor David received from God, as close as Jonathan was to his father, and even though he was the one Saul was projecting as the next king after himself, Jonathan still preferred David to his father, that can only be God.

Because Jonathan stands to lose so much, for one he was going after his father, and secondly he would be losing his throne to David, should he defeat his father, all that didn't deter him. That can only God!

Jonathan promised to help David escape his father's trap, and he did.

He was ready to betray his own father, in 1 Samuel 20:2, he told David, "You're not going to die. He(Saul) always tells me everything he's going to do, even the little things. I know my father wouldn't hide something like this from me..."

They both had an agreement that Jonathan would find out what his father was planning against David. Jonathan was able to find out from his dad, that he was going to kill David. He found a way of informing David and helped him escape out of the country.

God can use the friend of your enemy to help you.

Yes- very true, it may not even be a case of life and death like this one of David. It could be an enemy who had sworn that you will not achieve your goals in life, that you will not get that job you are looking for, or that contract you earnestly strive for.

God can use the friends of your enemy to change the story, because there is nothing that God is not capable of doing- Luke 1:37 "For with God Nothing Shall be Impossible"
