A lot of people are quick to blame the devil when some things that are negative happens to them. They don't believe that anything that is not good can come from God. In Job 2:10, after God had held another meeting with 'sons of God', just like in Job chapter one where the 'sons of God' and God held meeting to give accounts of their activities to God, which Satan was also in attendance to give account of his.

Meanwhile his own(Satan) work is to go about the earth, walking up and down it. Of course, seeing activities of each person, so be sure that Satan knows and sees everyone's activities, just as God does.

God asked Satan if he had noticed His servant, Job, to be a very righteous man and did no evil.

Have you ever wondered why things are not what they should be concerning you? Why your heart has never had a rest? Why you don't seem to have had genuine peace? It is all because that part of God in you, that part of you that really matters, is not yet at home with it maker and owner!

The Bible says in Genesis 2:7, "And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and he became a living soul". Until that part that make you a living should returns home, you cannot be said to living. In 1 John 5:12, the Bible says "He that hath the Son has life, and he that hath not the Son, hath not life." Who is the Son? He is Jesus Christ, and of himself he says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me" (John 14:6). So return today, receive and have the Son, and your life will have a meaning.

Maybe you already know or you've heard about the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32. The young man strayed away from home and wasted his life in wantonness of sin. Coming to his senses, he made up his mind and returned to his father who had daily been anxiously expecting him to come back home. He was received, pardoned, and given a warm reception. You know too tht you have strayed from God and your Father (Isaiah 53:6). He expects you to return today (Psalm 95:68; 2 Corinthians 6:2; Isaiah 55:6-7). All you need to do is acknowledge your sins and repent (Psalm 51:1-3, 10). A great reception is awaiting you today if only you'll come home (Luke 22:7)

Perhaps you have already given your life to Jesus but the cares of this world are distracting you. Don't be deceived, press on and be faithful. Let God be your sufficiency! I learnt recently of two men, one a Missionary, the other, the President of a powerful nation. The Missionary was returning to his country after a 40 year work overseas. This coincided with the return of the President from a 40-hour hunting expedition . A crowd came to receive the President while no man came to welcome the Missionary. Highly discouraged and wroth within himself, the Missionary Lamented "God I have been away for 40 years and now I'm back home with no one to receive me while many had come to welcome the President from hunting spree". But God spoke to him, "My son, you're not Home yet". Brothers, press on, you're not home yet. Sisters, don't look back, you are not home yet.

But you must never eat animals from waters that does not have both fins and scales. They are detestable to you. This applies to both little creatures that live in shallow water and to all creatures that live in deep water.

“Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in Your name.’ But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws” Matthew 7:21-23

If you are disobedient to God, you break His commandments you will not enter into the kingdom of God.

It doesn’t matter how much speaking in tongues you can do, it doesn’t matter whether you are a pastor, a minister or the director of music in your church. As long as you don’t obey and keep God’s commandments you will not enter into the kingdom of God.

In fact you can be an ordinary member of a church, you may not even be going to any particular church, but you study the word of God and obey it to the letters; you evangelize and teach people the truth about God, you will go to heaven when you die, I can assure you that because that is what the word of God says.

Jesus in Matthew 7: 21-23 did not say when you go to church you will go to heaven, he said when you keep God’s commandments you will go to heaven. God’s commandments does not include going to church, it is true that it is good to fellowship with other Christians, but I tell you the truth Christians can also corrupt people by their lifestyles.

The bible says, “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter” Matthew 7:21

Doing the will of God includes keeping all of His commandments such as ‘Having Him as the only God, not committing adultery, not stealing, not fornicating, helping the widow and the less privileged and all people in need’ You can read more about God’s commandments here.

So if you have been breaking God’s laws just because you have the gift of casting out demons or that of prophecy, you now sleep with other people’s wife, steal ministry funds, then on that last day, the bible says God will tell you, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.

May we not be found guilty on that last day in Jesus name, amen.

There's been lots of controversies over church-offerings and why pastors or men of God takes part of the offering.

The offering given by an individual to the church is meant for;

1- God

2- The pastors

Since in our present day, the Lord through Jesus Christ abolished the old doctrine of sacrifice, when at the time the offering people give to God in form of animals parts are usually burnt to the Lord while the other part belongs to the priest (pastor) who took the offering for the Lord.

In our present day the offering giving, the larger part just like in the old testament should go to God, which will be used in building/developing the house of God, like evangelism, social welfare etc.

Leviticus 7:1

"These are the instructions for the guilt (sin, cheating etc) offering, it is most holy. (So your offering is not a waste, it is holy and should be treated as such).

Leviticus 7: 2-6, The animal sacrifices as a guilt offering must be slaughtered at the place where the burnt offerings are slaughtered, and it's blood must be splattered against all sides of the altar, including the fat of the broad tail, the fat around the internal organs, the two kidneys and the fat around them near the loins, and the two kidneys and the long lobe of the liver. These are to be removed with the kidneys, and the priests will burn them on the altar as special gift presented to the Lord.

Now let me explain this verse 2 to 6; When you give an offering, remember it is holy, when it is holy, then it must be the best you can give God.

If you are used to buying diary products you will notice that the kidneys, liver, and those inner parts of the animals that God instructed that be given to Him when you give your offering are usually more expensive in the market and are more nutritious in fact when you eat them.

So, when you have to give to God, give good offering, it's not a sin to give.

Now let me tell you, when you are returning the stolen things (money, goods, goodwill, etc), you must return everything, not half, not quarter.

If you stole N25 milling, you must return N25 million and not N1 million, if you dupe a relationship partner N5million, you must return in full and not N50K

In fact as required by the laws of the Bible in Leviticus given by Moses to the people of Israel.

Read Leviticus 6:5

You must make restitution by paying the full price plus an additional twenty percent to the person you have cheated or harmed (Stolen from, duped, cheated).

So if you stole N25B, you will pay back N25B, plus 25% of N25B, let me tell you why?

Because if you had put that money in fixed deposit, it would have yielded some interest of if you have invested into business, then you would have been expected to make profits.

So you even still have to give thanks and offering to God for forgiveness, then you will be purified (no long story). Its a forgiveness of sin that is attainable.

Anything other than this, is a waste of time.

You will be forgiven for any of these sins you have committed after you have gone through the process of discovering you were wrong, confessing it and then paying back all these monies, and including even a 20% of it , then give thanks to God for the forgiveness of sin and you will be purified.

If you pay half the money, you wont be forgiven, no matter how much you pretend to have repented.

Luke 4:5

This bible portion shows that Satan has power and can also give riches, in fact the way God is in charge of, and owner of heaven, you can also say Satan owns the earth.

In verse 5-6 of Luke Chapter 4, "then devil took him up and reveled to him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. "I will give it all to you if you will worship me"

For Satan to be able to give glory and authority to someone, that means he has power.

But just like the same way God gives power, but only to those who serves and worship him, it's the same way that the devil gives power to those who worship him.

But always remember - you must worship only your God, you know why? God created you, God created the devil. So who are you to serve?

One has power over the other, but people seem to feel the presence of the other more, because he stays here on the earth, he has been given the authority and power to rule the world itself- the Almighty God also has power over the devil because He, in the first place, put him there. The reason is this, when God created the heaven and earth, he wanted the earth to be perfect place where man can stay.

"As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. Someone told Jesus, "Your mother and brothers are outside, and they want to speak to you"

Jesus asked, "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers? Then he pointed to his disciples and said, "Look, these are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!" Matthew 12:46-50 (NLT)

So you are a family of Jesus if you please God and do His wills, you are a brother to Jesus if you keep the commandments of God by adhering to the teachings of Jesus.

Evil is something that is very bad or harmful. An evil spirit is a bad spirit, harmful to the person it possesses.

When an evil spirit enters into the soul of a man, the man tends to behave in ways he normally wouldn’t have.

An evil spirit when it possesses the body of man can make the man commit adultery, fornication, lesbianism, murder and all sorts of bad things.

In the Book of Samuel in the Old Testament of the Bible, Saul was usually possessed by an evil spirit; at such times he becomes angry, fierce and moody and was willing to do anything evil.

Evil spirits operates in the inside of man, it cannot be seen nor touched, but its effects can be felt, even physically.

It takes the power of God, the Holy Spirit to cast out the evil spirit that dwells inside a man.

When such evil spirits have been cast out, the body where it is cast out from needs to be continually active in the things of God and desist from things that attracts the evil spirit.

If you allow things that attract the evil spirit into your life, before you know it, they will multiply; bringing in more dangerous members and before long you will be doing things worse than you are already doing now.

That is why someone who lies before begins to steal and fornicate and even commit murder.

It is like having friends and associates, when you are a social-club kind of person, you attract such kind of people, they are your friends, they visit you and you go to places with them, they introduce you to their other friends and the chain keeps building up.

Hear what Jesus said, “When an evil spirit leaves a person, it goes into the desert, seeking rest but finding none. Then it says, ‘I will return to the person I came from’ so it returns and finds it’s former home empty, swept and in order. Then the spirit finds seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they all enter the person and live there. And so that person is worse off than before” Matthew 12: 43-45A

That is why association matters, what you do with your body matters!

This why from fornication, you want to sleep with more than one partner at a time, from sleeping with multiple partner you become unsatisfied and want to sleep with a prostitute, then you want to try rape, from rape, you want something more and you go into homo sexual practice.

Evil spirits attracts more evil spirits; just like friends brings more friends!


Don’t allow evil spirit into your life so that you don’t get exposed, they are dangerous and can weigh your life down.


Do the right things now, ask God to forgive you all your sins. He always forgive, he will cleanse you and make you whole, please continue to serve God and do the things that will attract the Holy Spirit into your life.

Once the Holy spirit takes possession of your body, the evil spirit cannot come in again, when the evil spirit runs into the desert and does not find rest, if he tries to come back, he won’t meet an empty house because the Holy Spirit will be right there, the evil spirit runs away and never come back as long as the Holy Spirit remains there.

Year after year this man went up from his town to worship and sacrifice to the Lord Almighty at Shiloh, where Hophni and Phinehas, the two sons of Eli, were priests of the Lord- 1 Samuel 1:3.

The prerequisite to success is worship and sacrifice.

Having grieved in sorrow and bitterness, pray fervently to God Almighty. Then make a vow to the Lord Almighty.

This vow should be in connection with your request.

For instance, Hannah made a vow based on her desire which is to have a male child.

And she vowed to God Almighty, that if she is given a son, the son will be dedicated ll his life to the Lord Almighty.

So! What I'm I in pain for? What is making me to grief?

Money
Wealth
Peace
Good home

So how do I make a vow concerning these things to the Lord?

Money:

Give tithes to God for every money made going forward.
Help the poor and needy
Give good offerings

Note: Pray that God show you where to tithe and give your offerings and read more studies about tithing.

Wealth: Use the wealth to honor God and do his work.

Peace: In peace never forget to praise God and do his will and hos work. Not to ignore God because you now have peace.

Good Home: When my home becomes good/favored, de voided of issues, never forget to give honor to God for this new home and always ensure that every members of the home honors God, Almighty with their body, their soul, their money and their talents

1 Samuel 1:13, so we can now also pray in our hearts like Hannah did.

So after praying to God Almighty, remove all those sadness and all unnecessary distractions from your heart and leave everything for the Lord to handle. Stop being sad, be happy, eat etc.

Therefore if the bible refers to you a Christian as salt of the earth, it connotes that you are created to make the earth a better place or to help preserve the earth.

As salt of the earth you have the responsibility of making the earth a better place by teaching people to live worthy lives. You teach people how to do good and ignore evil. You help propagate the gospel by telling people about God.

Your duties as a child of God who is also the salt of the earth is to ensure that the earth meets the standards of God by always doing what is right; helping people adds sweetness to their life, helping the poor and the needy add life to them.

And that is the way of any Christian who is wicked to his brother, who refuses to give help to those in need of help. The bible says such persons will be trampled upon after being thrown away because he or she has become a worthless salt (Read Matthew 5:13)

The salt of the earth is someone who is ordinary but good and honest. Therefore any salt that loses its flavor becomes worthless because you cannot make it salty again!

Stop your wicked ways today; stop treating the next man like a rubbish dump because you are truly worthless in the presence of God if you are not adding value to anyone’s life.

I pray that God opens your eyes to see the danger of not being a salt that sweetens the earth. Remember any salt that loses its flavor (any Christian that refuses to add value to other people’s life) will be thrown away and trampled underfoot as worthless.

What To Do When You Are Persecuted

“God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the kingdom of Heaven is theirs” Matthew 5:9 (NLT)

Persecution is being treated cruelly or unfairly over a period of time especially because of your religious or political beliefs.

Another definition of persecution is to deliberately cause difficulties for someone by annoying them often.

My point therefore is; persecution is not only when you take a man and hang him on the cross for a sin he did not commit, persecution is also deliberately making someone go through a difficult situation or difficulties by making them get angry all the time.

So when you do things deliberately too often to people that gets them angry you are persecuting them.

Again I have often heard people misquote this verse of the bible to mean that God will bless those that are persecuted when they get to heaven.

Some people interpret this to mean that, when people persecute you it is criteria for you to get to heaven.

This is why you hear some Christians sing sorrowful songs to make people feel sympathy for their situations.

Stop False Doctrines!

Many times I have said again and again that people make mistake of thinking that because Jesus Christ came and died on the cross of Calvary then Christians are save and so a Christian girl can prostitute or a Christian man can embezzle money and it won’t be sin.

Very funny, isn’t it? I have had arguments with prostitutes who believe that the preaching and warnings of Prophet Hosea is for the people of that time.

So when they take up prostituting as a profession, it is okay as long as they go to church and pay their tithes.

Listen to what Jesus said here in Matthew 5:17-20, “Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the Law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. So if you ignore the least commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be called the least in the kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s laws and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven”.

“But I warn you- unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven!”

Therefore it is hypocrisy to believe that the laws of the prophets that condemn some bad things are not meant for Christians of today. But you believe that the prophesies of the same old prophets concerning wealth, health and prosperity are for you because you are of Abraham’s lineage.

Dear friend, let me tell you this, no one is above temptation.

1 Corinthians 10:12-13 says, "If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure" (NLT)

Don’t say I have overcome this or I am above that; rather say by God’s grace I overcome temptations.

If Jesus Christ can be tempted no one is above temptation.

Matthew 4:12 says, “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.”

So devil can tempt anyone, in fact he tempts the righteous people more because he needs more followers. By the way why would he tempt someone who is already is follower? So the devil tempts the righteous people.

“During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread”

“But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures says, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” Matthew 4:3 (NLT)

Imagine yourself being in the place of Jesus after fasting for forty days and forty nights and very hungry. You would have easily fallen for the suggestions of the devil to turn stones into bread to eat!

For a tree to bear fruits it must have first been planted as a small seed in the ground that germinates into a small tree that grows into a big tree and then starts bearing fruits.

A child is formed with the sperm of the father that fertilizes the egg of the mother forming the embryo that develops into a fetus that is later delivered as baby after nine months.

The baby starts by sucking the mother’s breasts, later takes milk, with time foods like pap, Golden Mourn and solid foods like rice etc. , he begins to crawl before he starts walking and then running. Many people want to come into millions within the very first month or year they start their business. Some don’t even want to work but want to become millionaires through magic and fraudulent practices.

Even Jesus’ mission on earth was not carried out without following due-process.

In Matthew 3:13-14, “Then Jesus went from Galilee to the Jordan river to be baptized by John. But John tried to talk him out of it. “I am the one who needs to be baptized by you,” he said,

“So why are you coming to me?”

By right, John was speaking the truth, he knew that Jesus is the Messiah and that Jesus is from God, therefore Jesus should not be baptized by him, rather Jesus should be the one to baptize him, John.

But Jesus could have jumped down from heaven in the first place, didn’t he have the power? But God only permits due-process!

Because God likes order, He allows everything to follow a process and thus made Jesus to come in form of man as little child that was given birth to by a woman through a normal natural process except that the mother was a virgin!

Even when Jesus Christ had been born, though He is aware of his power and that he is from God he still ensures that he followed the due process by allowing himself to be baptized by John.

“But Jesus said, “It should be done, for we must carry out all that God requires (due process)” So John agreed to baptize him”(Yes after fulfilling all the required due process) Matthew 3:15

Due process that is what Jesus is talking about there. Don’t jump the queue, follow due process and you will get that thing you are looking for.

Be patient, follow the requirements, don’t jump the process, the end is not always good when you jump the process.

Imagine, if Jesus Christ who is Lord, who came from heaven could allow John to baptize him so that we can learn the importance of following due- diligence, who are we mere people not to follow due-diligence?

When you have done all that is required of you, you will definitely get what you desire.

In Matthew 3:16-17, the bible says, “After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my dearly loved son, who brings me great joy” (NLT)

I have seen some drivers over-speeding and when you caution them they are often quick to say, “It’s only God that saves those who drives slowly and those who over-speeds”

Very true, it’s God that saves everyone in all situations but do not test the Lord your God by doing things anyhow and expects Him to save you.

Jesus Christ was tempted by devil to test God and break the law of gravity. He was standing at the highest point of the temple and devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scripture says, ‘He will order His angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone” Matthew 4:5-6 (NLT)

Pride makes people do irrational things, I mean why would anyone want to jump down a cliff or from the top of a building, breaking the law of gravity deliberately just to prove that they are children of God.

Large crowd followed Jesus as he came down the mountainside. Suddenly a man with leprosy approached him and knelt before him. “Lord” the man said, “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean” Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said, “Be healed!” And instantly the leprosy disappeared.” Matthew 8:1-3

The man with the leprosy was not ashamed to come out in the public where there were thousands of people following Jesus, I am sure within those crowd will be many more sick people who did not ask to be healed either because of shame or because of fear.

What does this tell you- that going to church is not the solution to your problem, but digesting the word of God and communing with Him is the solution to your problem. Many go to church but don’t receive anything from God because they have gone there as spectators and not to receive the word of God.

Just like the crowd that followed Jesus many of them were just spectators who wanted to see what the man of God is capable of doing, they have heard many stories of His miracles and wanted to see for themselves.

But this man with the leprosy stood out and asked Jesus, “Lord if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean”

God is Doing Something New Today!

When you pray to God concerning a thing, particularly if you are praying with conviction and faith that what you are asking God for will be granted you, God answers your prayer that instant you asked.

The fact that what you prayed for a thing and you haven’t seen the manifestation yet does not mean that God has not answered your prayer what it means is that you should be calm and patient to see the manifestation.

If you look at the wind or the things happening around you at a particular time, the chances is that you will doubt and when you doubt like that, it’s like altering what you have prayed for. God is not a man that He should lie and there is nothing He says that will not come to pass. Rather than focus on the negative circumstances, be focused on the promises.

In Habakkuk, the man of God complained to God, asking God how long it would take Him to answer his prayers, he said, “How long, O Lord, must I call for help? But you do not listen! “Violence is everywhere!” I cry, but you do not come to save” Habakkuk 1:2

The writer had been praying to God concerning the violence in his nation. But for long he got no answer from God. After a long time of praying, the Lord answered him saying;

“Look around at the nations, look and be amazed! For I am doing something in your own day, something you wouldn’t believe even if someone told you about it” Habakkuk 1:5

So this is what God is saying pertaining to that prayer request you have been praying to Him for so long. He is saying you will be amazed at what He is going to do for you. He says what He will do; you wouldn’t believe it because of how great it will be. Your mind will not be able to comprehend it because of how awesome it will be.


Have you been praying for long for the fruit of the womb, He says He will bless you with twins.

Are you praying for a breakthrough in your finance and business or career, He says you will receive a financial breakthrough beyond what you have ever imagined. He says you will receive a double promotion at your place of work and your business will begin to flourish.

I pray this morning that God’s words concerning you will begin to manifest in your life from today in Jesus name.

That thing you are trusting God for, you will receive it before the end of this year in Jesus name, amen.

“What sorrow awaits you who make your neighbors drunk? You force your cup on them so you can gloat over their shameful unclothedness” Habakkuk 2: 15

I know many people will not understand this verse. It is not necessarily making your neighbor drunk with alcohol or any strong wine. No, it is about the way you treat your neighbor by oppressing them, by setting them up, by plotting evil for them or plotting their downfall.

This bible verse is talking about jealous and wicked neighbors, aiming at disgracing and embarrassing another neighbor.

You plot all kinds of devices just to bring your neighbor down. But listen to what the word of God is saying,

“But soon it will be your turn to be disgraced. Come, drink and be exposed. Drink from the cup of the Lord’s judgment, and all your glory will be turned to shame” Habakkuk 2:16

So don’t rejoice over that big car you just bought, don’t be happy about the disgrace you caused a fellow brother, friend or neighbor because your turn is just around the corner. It is the word of God and it must come to pass. And since it is God Himself that will bring the punishment, then be ready for a fatal injury because when God hits you, it cannot be like the hit of a mere man.

This should be a relief for the people crying to God every day to bring corrupt leaders to book. The cry of the people for punishment of the wicked and corrupt leaders has been received by God and from now on those who have stolen away the wealth of this country will begin to meet their downfall in Jesus name.

God says these thieves, embezzlers, killers and cheats will not go unpunished. They have hitherto trusted in their ill-gotten wealth to the extent that they value no one. Their pride has taken over their mind and no one means anything to them.

That is why they can talk down on people anyhow, the same people whose joint wealth were embezzled, are looked down on, by these same people who steals their common wealth, because they were placed in places of position and power where they have access to these wealth belonging to the ordinary.

They leave a whole nation in debt and pains, people are hungry, no work, no food. Monies meant for security are being taken away by a few, kept in secret houses, some inside bank accounts, both in their countries and in foreign countries.

People are dying by the day of hunger and starvation, the hospitals and in bad states, roads are completely dilapidated, and yet some few people steal as much as monies running into trillions without minding what happens to the majority of others.

But never mind, this will not be for ever, hear what the bible says;

Why do you claim to own the world, why are you comparing yourself to God because you have some material resources?

God says He is the owner of everything, praise be His name forever, amen!

So what should you do when you have a lack? You tell the owner of everything, the owner of silver and gold to provide whatever you need and He surely will do it for you!

He said the future glory of this Temple (you) will be greater than it’s past glory, says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. (Your future will be better and greater than your past). And in this place (in you) I will bring peace. I, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!” Haggai 1:8

When Zerubabel son of Shealtiel and Jesua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of God’s people began to obey the message from the Lord their God. When they heard the words of prophet Haggai, whom the Lord their God had sent, the people feared the Lord. Then Haggai, the Lord’s messenger gave the people this message from the Lord. “I am with you says the Lord!”

God delights in the repentance of a sinner. It doesn’t matter the kind of sin you have committed in the past, it could have been “Advanced Fee Fraud (419)”, stealing, murder, etc.). Once you realize you have sinned, you call upon the name of the Lord, He is willing to forgive, but if you refuse to repent of your sins, continuous stagnation is inherent.

In Haggai chapter One, God sent Prophet Haggai to the Israelites to tell them the reasons why they were experiencing stagnation in various aspects of their lives. He said they have not been taking the things of God seriously and God is punishing them for not obeying His commandments. He said they were acquiring wealth for themselves and their family members but are not doing anything for the house of the Lord Almighty.

Heaven is Real, Hell is Real

At a time I use to think heaven isn't real, even though I have always known that death is real but then, I thought once dead, the remains or soul of the dead, just stay somewhere in that dark, cold grave forever where the flesh will rot and decay!

Don't blame me for thinking like this, prior to this time, no preacher or teacher has ever been able to teach the subject of heaven clearly to me in the manner that I will have a good understanding of what it is. Heaven to them is a place full of enjoyment, where born again Christians will go to when they die here on earth.

Well, there’s heaven but before you can understand the concept of heaven, you must first understand the concept of creation and recreation that is only when you can understand the true existence of heaven!

Let me take you back to some stories you might already known. What we have as account of creation in Genesis 1 of the bible as also recorded by some other religious books like the Quran and others is actually an account of recreation.

You know the scientific version of creation, how man evolved from some so-called tiny cells which developed into apes and later human being.

You have also probably read or heard the Christians account of the Old earth, a very beautiful earth with dinosaurs, and all those wild animals that went into extinction. At that time there was no human on earth. It was just beautiful environment with wild animals, smaller animals, apes, fishes and birds.

Idols are carved from woods, metals, clay, etc. made by man or the user or the worshiper. How funny and foolish that is. Longman describes idol as a picture or statue that is worshiped as a god.

Worshiping something you created or carved with your own hands is not only foolish but also senseless. My thinking is that you should serve something or being that is stronger or greater than you and not the other way. What you created is what should be serving you and not you worshiping or serving what you created.

That means your idol can be the car you bought which you treat like a god or that thing you have that is taking the place of god. It could be money, beauty, jewelry, anything at all that has taken the place of God in your life is an idol.

During the time of Prophet Haggai, God Almighty sent the prophet to the Israelites to warn them of their sins and the need for them to repent, the same way He is sending me to you today to warn you about your sins.

He told the prophet that the Israelites are sinning and because of their sins, He has caused them so much hardship.

The same way the Lord is telling us, Nigerians today that He is punishing us because of our sins, sins of adultery, fornication, and stealing, cheating, lying and fraudulent transactions.

He is telling us as a nation, then as individuals that the stagnation we are experiencing is due to our sins. You are suffering because you have cheated too many people that is why you are not making progress in your career, in your businesses. You have lied to too many people; you have cheated too many girls, that is why your marriage is not working out. You have committed too many abortions, that is why you are not getting pregnant again!

The prophet asked the Israelites this question: “If one of you is carrying some meat for a holy sacrifice in his robes and his robe happens to brush against some bread or stew, wine or olive oil, or any other kind of food, will it also become holy” And the Israelites said, No!

Take for instance, an anointed man of God, a miracle working child of God who mistakenly brushes his body on that of a prostitute in a large crowd. Does that make the prostitute holy, or does that defile the prophet? The answer is No!

“What can we bring to the Lord? What kind of offerings should we give Him? Should we bow before God with offerings of yearling calves? Should we offer Him thousands of rams and ten thousand rivers of olive oil? Should we sacrifice our firstborn children to pay for our sins?” Micah 6:6-7

Some people are quick to think they can go to church on Sunday and bribe God with their offerings of money and gifts to take away their sins. They see God like a being who is happy when gifts are brought before Him. How funny, because God is the maker of all things so He can as well get whatever He needs if He needs them.

“No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God” Micah 6: 8

Be humble before the Lord Almighty. Do what is good, shun what is evil. He says that is the only offering He requires of you- doing good and shunning evil.

“Fear the Lord if you are wise! His voice calls to everyone in Jerusalem (Nigeria) “The armies of destruction are coming; the Lord is sending them. What shall I say about the homes of the wicked filled with treasures gained by cheating? What about the disgusting practice of measuring grain with dishonest measures?” Micah 6:9-10

So God is aware of your cheating, you businessmen, politicians and civil servants. God sees you when you steal money belonging to pensioners, when you make many homeless and make many people jobless. God sees you when you siphon the resources belonging to the entire nation as if it were meant for you and your family alone! God sees you.

Like many of us, I have been miserable a lot of time. I have been miserable at countless number of times in my life. I have been sorrowful, sad, despair and thought life was meaningless. Just like the writer of Micah who said in Micah 7:1

“How miserable I am! I feel like the fruit picker after the harvest who can find nothing to eat. Not a cluster of grapes or a single early fig can be found to satisfy my hunger” Micah 7:1

What can be as bad as what Micah describes in this verse? It’s a total hopeless situation and yet he puts his trust in God that after all is said and done, God will come to his rescue and save him.

He said in Micah 7:7-10, “As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me. Do not gloat over me, my enemies! For though I fall, I will rise again. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light. I will be patient as the Lord punishes me, for I have sinned against Him. But after that, He will take up my case and give me justice for all I have suffered from my enemies. The Lord will bring me into the light, and I will see His righteousness”

So instead of continuously sorrowing and feeling rejected and dejected, always allow God’s word to stand firm instead. He says, God will bring you into light, and you will see his righteousness (Read Micah 7:8-9)

“Then my enemies will see that the Lord is on my side. They will be ashamed that they taunted me, saying, “So where is the Lord- that God of yours?” With my own eyes I will see their downfall; they will be trampled like mud in the streets” Micah 7: 10

So shall it be for all your enemies from today in Jesus name. You will no longer know sorrow and hardship in your life but you will rejoice in the Lord your God in Jesus name, amen.
