When I was young boy up till when I had grown up to a certain age, I found it difficult to put on a smile, I found it very hard to smile, but frowned a lot, I think growing up from the home I grew up led to my way of seeing life as being very "hard", and didn't see much reason to smile.
I had a lot of people that liked me so much, many people actually wanted to friends with me, but many others not sure of what my reaction would be, should they come close, are either never coming close, or hated my gut!

Some usually wonder how the few that are close to me manages it, because any relationship or friendship I go into always feels enviable to people who looks at me, because we would be extremely close, whether a male or female.

Why? As much as some others feels I was repulsive and wouldn't even try to come near, these people I am always close to sees me like the best person on earth, regardless of my facial appearance that looks intimidating some times.

You MUST by all means stay away from people who discourage you from your ambition.

I have often hear people say, "how can you do it?", "it's not possible", "it's difficult", "where will you get help?" etc.

People are quick to discourage people who have what they perceive has great ambition, some times it not because they hate you, some times, its because the hate you, but most of the time, it's because they cannot see what you see.

Do you blame them for this? No, there is no need to blame them for not being able to see what you see. It's just like everyone going to bed to sleep at night, some have dreams in the night when they sleep, some others don't dream at all, some that dream don't have the same dream with the other person, so its the same way with ambition.

You may have the ambition to become the president of your country, just because someone else does not believe you can attain it, doesn't mean you cannot, just because they don't think it is possible, does not mean that is is not possible. You are the one with the ambition, just like the person who slept and dreamt and had a different dream from the other person, your ambition in life does not have to be the same as others.

What you should never allow, is them discouraging you and making you to lose focus to the extent that you throw that your ambition away.

While I was growing up, as little as in primary school, I discovered I had talent to writing, but even though I had parents who were educated, none of them see me becoming a writer, just because they couldn't imagine someone in their family becoming someone like Wole Soyinka, of James Hardley Chase, I believed it was impossible to achieve such a goal.

After David defeated Goliath as we studied in 1 Samuel 17, King Saul kept him in his house because he loved him, because, according to the bible, David did whatever Saul asked him to do successfully.

The bible didn’t say David whatever Saul asked him to do, the bible say, he did whatever Saul asked him to do “successfully”.

Such that Saul made him a commander over the men of war. That means he was like the commander of a battalion; you know what that means? For a man who never fought war, nor was an army to be the commander of a battalion, that is huge, that is a lot! That is success.

But there was a problem! Each time the Israelites defeated their enemies and were returning to the state, guess what the people always do! They would sing and dance in joy. Hear what their songs contains- “Saul has killed his thousands, and David his ten thousand!”

Isn’t that truly annoying? Imagine that kind of song being sang in the ears of a present-day president, a credit that should be given him, being credited to a mere appointee, an ordinary commander of a battalion.

Its not even the president that would call for his sack, it would be one of his ministers and he may not only be sacked, he may never be anything again in that country. As you know in the present world, every achievement by a country is usually credited to the commander-in-chief, the president.

Everyone always have an idea or ideas. But ideas are usually like raw egg, you cannot eat an egg in its raw form, you have to either boil it or fry it before you can eat it. That is the way it is with ideas too.

Just like Albert Einstein clearly stated in the quote we are referring to, today, when you have a problem before you, you cannot solve the problem with the way your thoughts are at that particular time.

You have to sit down, think all through again, plan properly before executing it. Don't just think of a problem and execute it without a proper planning it could be disastrous.

Be your best today

There are different challenges that people face in life, it could be financial, marital, career, and even health challenges.

In trying to resolve some of these challenges you will still meet more challenges from people who are supposed to offer a solution, advise to help you. Some of these don’t know their left from the right, so they are not in position to offer solution to your challenge, what you need is God.

Some others who are supposed to be of help are jealous of you because they know that once you are able to resolve such challenges you are going to be in a better position than they are, and so they don’t want you to get out of your predicament.

My teaching today is from the Bible’s book of 1Samuel 17. The Israelites where having a very difficult time, they were in war with the Philistines, and there was this very big man, a giant who was nine feet tall, he wore a bronze helmet, his bronze coat weighed 125 pounds, he also wore a bronze leg armor, he had a bronze javelin and his spear weighs 15 pounds, while he also had an armor bearer carrying a shield to protect him.

This man’s appearance alone is terrifying, I don’t think anyone in the present world has this kind of build, he was a terrorist to the people of Israel, he even went out of conventional war style, challenging them to present someone who can face him to fight him, so that if he defeats such a person, then the whole Israel would become slaves to Philistines, and if Israel should by chance defeat him, they Philistines, would become slaves to Israel, rather than the everyday fight they were doing.

He was pompous, arrogant, and even insulted God. Israelites were like rats before a cat any time this man appears. Even the king, Saul who was a great soldier himself didn’t know what to do about this man, but he placed a bounty on the head of Goliath, the giant. And this bounty was being discussed all the time by the Israel soldiers.

And on this day when little David was sent by his dad to go give some food and other items to his elder brothers who were fighting at war with the Philistine soldiers, he overheard this discussion about the bounty placed on this giant.

Before this time in reference, God had given the Israelites, leaders in form of prophets that had been leading them, right from the time of Moses- Joshua - Esther- Ruth and lots of others.

These leaders had the ability to hear from God, spend time with God, receive visits from angels who carried messages from God to them for the nation.

These leaders did not just have administrative powers but also had spiritual powers, they led the people physically and also performed spiritual miracles. They combined both the duties of pastors(men of God0 and political office duties.

It was so much that, a lot of times when they go the holy of the holiness, where sometimes they commune with God for weeks, months, they has no successors that overlooked the affairs of the nation, like what happened when Moses went the first time to Mount Sanai to receive the ten commandments which was written in the finger of God, but Moses broke it because on his return the people had already gone astray and were already worshiping idols because there was no presence of a leader.

If you are passionate about being close to nature, and to God, if you desire to be able to hear from God and get answers to your prayers speedily, then you must urgently create an altar for yourself in your house.

You altar size depends on how your house is, it depends on how much space you have in your home. Some people have very large rooms in their homes that they use as their prayer altar. Others have a small dedicated place for their praying altar.

Your altar should be a place of communication between you and Your creator. This place should be devoid of anything that can be termed unholy.

For instance, your prayer altar should not be a place where you can have sex, it doesn't matter whether the person you are having the sex with is a spouse or not. Your prayer altar should be free of furniture, unless you just want to have a small table where you can place your bible, your dedication books, pen for writing the things you hear while communicating with God, and possibly a few other things that will help you focus while you are praying and communing with God.

As for me I have a very large room which I set aside as my praying altar, in the room I have written psalms and other bible verses splashed on the wall, a times when I am weak to pray, I use those psalms and other bible verses to pray.

I have no problem with what happened at Oba last weekend, nothing wrong, but my greatest fear is the misery we have sold the coming generation (The highway generation).

I want to beg you, church, come out of that highway. The highway will lead you to accident. Take your lane. Have discipline to know where you are and to know what you ought to do.

If E-Money sprayed N5million during that Cubana burial night, he has not touched nothing of his wealth, you that the small money you have is for the continuous effort, you are now under pressure.

I know where you will end!

Give the next two to three years, evil will increase. Young boys will delve into ritual killings more than ever before, believe me!

Some people's threshold of waiting is over.

Where people spend livelihood in one bottle- somebody told me that one bottle of alcohol in N2.5million and they gave to everyone.

Let me tell you this- when your spirit goes sick, your mother will stop making sense. The day your spirit will go poisoned your younger brother will look like cockroach, donating him for money will not make any difference- and that's where are coming!

Even the Bible which most “Prosperity Preaching pastors” use often for their messages to lure people into their congregation says “Narrow is the way to success” “Narrow is the way to life not wide”. Any way that is narrow is difficult to pass through, it normally takes patience, determination, and strength to pass through a road that is narrow. And the Bible says the way to success is not only narrow but also difficult.

Therefore any success that must be a true success, that will earn applauds from various fields of life cannot be achieved through a one-day work! It must pass through process, must and can only be achieved through a stage after stage progress.

The success story of any successful person are not the same, different people have different story to their success in life.

Lots of young people want to become millionaires overnight, because they say, “I am destined to be rich and not poor” but they won’t do what it takes to become successful, they want to cut corners!

Be it any successful musician, writer or a business entrepreneur or even an enterprise, success is never a day’s work, it is a continuous process. It is not earned in a day or a week, not in a year!

What many people call success is not what success really is, getting millions of money through dubious means and lavished within a few days or week and start looking for N100 to get to a destination or to eat is not success.That is what I noticed about most "Yahoo Boys".

And to earn true success, it is not an overnight deal like an armed robber who goes out in the night to rob people and come back in the morning a millionaire, buying cars when before the night he wasn’t even having a bike!

Ask any true successful person, I mean true businessmen, true entertainers and celebrities in the world today, they will tell you that becoming a billionaire was not a one year job, it was continuous work of years turning into decades that brought them their billions and fame!

Success takes process, true billionaires we have in the world like Paul Allen- Co-founder of Microsoft, Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO, and even Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft spent years of work, pains, rejections and lots of sacrifices to bring their name and personality to what it is today.

Have you ever wondered why things are not what they should be concerning you? Why your heart has never had a rest? Why you don't seem to have had genuine peace? It is all because that part of God in you, that part of you that really matters, is not yet at home with it maker and owner!

The Bible says in Genesis 2:7, "And the Lord God formed man out of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and he became a living soul". Until that part that make you a living should returns home, you cannot be said to living. In 1 John 5:12, the Bible says "He that hath the Son has life, and he that hath not the Son, hath not life." Who is the Son? He is Jesus Christ, and of himself he says "I am the Way, the Truth, and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me" (John 14:6). So return today, receive and have the Son, and your life will have a meaning.

Maybe you already know or you've heard about the story of the Prodigal Son in Luke 15:11-32. The young man strayed away from home and wasted his life in wantonness of sin. Coming to his senses, he made up his mind and returned to his father who had daily been anxiously expecting him to come back home. He was received, pardoned, and given a warm reception. You know too tht you have strayed from God and your Father (Isaiah 53:6). He expects you to return today (Psalm 95:68; 2 Corinthians 6:2; Isaiah 55:6-7). All you need to do is acknowledge your sins and repent (Psalm 51:1-3, 10). A great reception is awaiting you today if only you'll come home (Luke 22:7)

Perhaps you have already given your life to Jesus but the cares of this world are distracting you. Don't be deceived, press on and be faithful. Let God be your sufficiency! I learnt recently of two men, one a Missionary, the other, the President of a powerful nation. The Missionary was returning to his country after a 40 year work overseas. This coincided with the return of the President from a 40-hour hunting expedition . A crowd came to receive the President while no man came to welcome the Missionary. Highly discouraged and wroth within himself, the Missionary Lamented "God I have been away for 40 years and now I'm back home with no one to receive me while many had come to welcome the President from hunting spree". But God spoke to him, "My son, you're not Home yet". Brothers, press on, you're not home yet. Sisters, don't look back, you are not home yet.

A lot of people are quick to blame the devil when some things that are negative happens to them. They don't believe that anything that is not good can come from God. In Job 2:10, after God had held another meeting with 'sons of God', just like in Job chapter one where the 'sons of God' and God held meeting to give accounts of their activities to God, which Satan was also in attendance to give account of his.

Meanwhile his own(Satan) work is to go about the earth, walking up and down it. Of course, seeing activities of each person, so be sure that Satan knows and sees everyone's activities, just as God does.

God asked Satan if he had noticed His servant, Job, to be a very righteous man and did no evil.

But Satan replied to God that, Job had remained faithful and righteous, all because God had blessed him all round.

Note that, at this time in the world, Job was one of the richest people in the East (Eastern part of the world today could be the Arabs, Eastern Europe).

Imagine someone being one of the richest in this part of the current world. That must be one of the richest in the world too. So that time, Job was very rich and famous in the world.

And so, Satan believed that it was because of his comfort, his wealth, and large family, he had ten children, including males and females that made him to remain faithful to God.

Satan told God that he could only judge that Job was a righteous man if he doesn't have all these riches, if he suddenly becomes poor and wretched, he would sin against God. If all he cherished, his children, properties, monies are taken away from him, he would sin like others.

And so, God permitted Satan to take away all the wealth that Job had, including his children, this was in chapter one of Job.

But even with all these, Job refused to dishonor God, he did not sin, this continued into chapter two of Job, where there was another meeting, and Satan now suggested that if Job's health was suddenly taken from him and he becomes sick with different ailments and diseases, he would sin against God and be like others.

Again, God permitted Satan to inflict diseases and sicknesses on Job.

*Did you notice that from both chapters one and two, God actually permitted poverty and diseases/sicknesses on Job?

To buttress my point that it's not only good things that comes from God- in Job 2:10, after Job had been inflicted with sicknesses, diseases, with all his children and wealth taken away from him, his wife mocked him.

She asked if he wasn't tired of trusting God, after losing all he had, including his children. She told him to just curse God and sin and die, instead of wasting his time, trusting God in his hopeless condition, in a situation that looked irredeemable. Just 'curse God and die', she told him.

Who are the "sons of God" in the bible?

The phrase “sons of God” is found eleven times in the King James Version: twice in Genesis, three times in Job, and six times in the New Testament. Other than its usage in Job, the term refers to those who follow after God and keep His Word.

Almost every reference in the Bible to “sons of God” refers to men who live in harmony with the will of God. However, three instances of the sons of God found in Job (Job 1:6; Job 2;1; Job 38:7) refer to angels. This I believe so, because in the Job 1:6 description, there was a "kind of meeting" usually held between God and "sons of God" which most often, Satan who actually was a part of God's kingdom before he was thrown off, also attends.

I therefore believe that sons of God referred to in Job, has to be spirit beings like angels for them to be in attendance at such meetings with God! If you also look at the description of Job in Job Chapter One, you will know that, by all means, if humans were the ones being referred to in this Chapter, then Job obviously should have qualified to in such meetings.

So I had like to believe, based on Job 1:6, that "sons of God" in that verse of the bible were spirit beings(angels).

If you have once squandered an opportunity in a place of privilege, go back to your roots for restitution and seek repentance and true forgiveness. Grace is always available to give you another chance to flourish.

The challenge for the prodigal son did not start when he was feeding with the swine. Don't make that mistake, sometimes you are concentrating on the problem at hand. That doesn't resolve it. You trace where it started from!

Because if you look at feeding with the swine, you'll start thinking I should get a job after losing that job, and that may not be the problem. You will think, feeding with swine is not good, let me feed with chicken!

Chicken at least is better than swine, right? But that doesn't resolve the problem, that is just a symptom. There might be other symptoms, you nee to trace the problem to the root.

The prodigal son said- "I will go back"- he realized that it was when he left home that the problem started.

Where did your own problem start? is it a strife with someone? Sometimes you make mistakes, a misbehavior and when you are praying about where your problem started from, the Holy Ghost will flash on your mind, something you did to someone, maybe your boss or your pastor somewhere.

It will just flash and if your are sincere to ask, they will tell you its from that day their heart shifted from you.

So you need to seek repentance and forgiveness.

Here are ten good points on why women cheat;

Pre-marital affairs; if a woman was very close to a man but they never got married for whatever reason, and she continues to fantasize about him, she's likely to be vulnerable to that man, more-so if her expectations in marriage were never met.

Husband's absence; a lot of ladies who leave their husbands in the name of work or further studies are left with an emotional loophole that someone can exploit who is closer to her.

Revenge; a lot of women do claim these days that the reason they cheated on their husband is because he had an affair or because he is either verbally or physically abusive. The reason/motive behind their cheating is just vengeance.

Boredom; you get two love birds becoming two wheels of a cart known as family. They get mechanical, they no longer have romance in their marriage or bliss, it's routine and duties. The talk is mechanical in that house. And a cunning outsider full of life penetrates through the emotional backdoor.

Adultery is on the rise, immorality is on the rise. Affairs are now being normalized, what used to be detested in our traditions. So we have made affairs look normal. We have made them casual.

Lust; there are some women, they just admire a certain celebrity and they just desire to sleep with the person, they desire a higher achiever or a star for the sake of it

Biblicaly It is primarily God's dwelling place in the biblical tradition: a parallel realm where everything operates according to God's will. Heaven is a place of peace, love, community, and worship, where God is surrounded by a heavenly court and other heavenly beings.

In the Christian tradition, heaven and paradise have been conflated as an answer to the question “where do I go when I die?” The idea of the dead being in heaven or enjoying paradise often brings enormous comfort to the bereaved and hope to those suffering or dying. Yet heaven and paradise were originally more about where God lived, not about us or our ultimate destination.

You are joking with Christ, everybody is preaching, everybody is warning you- "Repent- repent" you can't repent, something is behind you.

Something is coming- you think you have money? Your money will not safe you that day! You think you know people- people will not safe you that day. You think you are intelligent? - It will not safe you that day.

Rapture is coming- and this rapture that is coming, I fear because even the church will miss the rapture. Repent of your sins.

Do you see the number of weddings going on? Do you see the number of people getting married every Saturdays? Bible talks about it, it says when you see men giving out their children into marriage, its a sign, it will come suddenly like the days of Lot.

Everybody is preaching- you are still pompous, you are still bragging.

Scientists just discovered that something- a danger is approaching the earth from another planet (READ IT HERE)- I prophesied about it in the church.

I saw it- I said something is coming. This your eyes will melt inside. People will dry up on the street. If you can't hear the voice of the prophet, there's nobody you will hear again.

How many hours do you give to God? If Jesus comes now, what have you done for Him? What will be your achievement on earth?

You have one more chance before God and that chance is the preachers available today.

Don't trust your fame, don't trust your riches, don't trust your education. Don't trust who you know- run after Jesus Christ. Some of you still play politics with the things of God- run for your life.

That day, no man will safe you, that day no pastor , no prophet, no evangelist will safe you. You have only one chance and that chance is to repent.

Listen church- prepare yourselves for the rapture. I had a terrible vision about the church- people that I know- they missed rapture. I was watching how people missed rapture; pastors, choir!

Repent- repent- this is what the Lord has sent me to tell you.

Danger is coming to the earth, will you be before God or before man? Those of you insulting other denominations, you will shocked that those people will go to heaven and you will not. God and prepare your house.

A day will come that you will long to come to church but you will not be able to because the antichrist will stop you, now you are being begged to come to church.

How many of you have not touched your phones today? Now if the antichrist comes and safe if you don't have the antichrist number, you cannot use your phone, how many of you can forfeit it?

You should now know that the number 666 is already at hand, don't think they will give this number later, they will this number presently now in our world.

People of this church that I saw who missed the rapture, I'm so sorry, they were people who were serious in the beginning but now are ordinary men! "

Former Nigerian senator, Dino Melaye disclosed to BBC Pidgin how he made his money through an investment he made in a Mac Donald Franchise he bought for Three hundred and fifty thousand dollar, $350,000.

The former senator who represented the Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi state has been credited with lots of online videos, particularly displaying affluence; large mansion, very expensive cars, jewelries, wrist watches and even Jacuzzi.

A lot of people are not thankful, many people are ungrateful, some people don't even know that is by the grace of God that we wake up everyday. What many are after is how to make money, how to be famous and have all the good things of life.

Is it bad to have the goodies of life? No! It is very good to have the good things of life, as a matter of fact, God is good and everything about him his good. So everyone is suppose to be at least be comfortable in life .

But the problem I have here is many people don't even know that waking up everyday is a privilege and not a right! You don't know that? You don't know that some people sleep and die in their sleep? You don't know that some people out of no fault of theirs lost their lives to accident. Whatever they had desired or working had to achieve before that last minute when the clock ticked, is forever and ever forgotten.

Do you want to start being famous after your death? I can hear someone saying- "I reject it"- Yes you have every right to reject it, but are you being thankful for being alive, and seeing the light of another day, Everyday?

You may not have all what you desire, or all the things you want to have , or be the things you want to be, but you are still alive!

Being alive means you can still make it. God can change anything within a minute. But that can only happen if you put your trust in Him, if you thankful everyday for being alive.

But you want to be famous, you are not remembering God, you are not thanking HIM. You want to become very rich, you want to become a billionaire, because of that you forget to give the due acknowledgment to God.

You want to achieve all these after death? Okay, you don't know some people actually became famous/popular after their death?

Why? It's a question I may not be able to answer.

But why not always pray to God for safety, for preservation of life and be thankful everyday to the Creator for keeping you alive, because you still have the chance to make it.

Yes, success can be achieved within a twinkle of an eye, because you have been working for it, and especially because you are still alive.

So finally I have been hacked! Yes, I'm shocked. In spite of everything I thought I know about Facebook and internet security, someone successfully hacked my Facebook account.

This is how it all started; I saw on friend's Facebook page..."How to Reduce Belle Fat, drop you Whatsapp Number to be added to group"

I didn't see this any issue, since I felt if at all I was going to be hacked, it would be an attempt on my Whatsapp and not my Facebook. For one fact, my Whatsapp is secure, I had my "Two-step verification" and password for all my Whatsapp account. Also my Facebook is secure( at least so I thought), because I use Authenticator, such that each time my Facebook account is logged from any device, I am first sent verification codes to my registered phone number(which was the same number I dropped on that Facebook post- "How to Reduce Belle Fat, drop you Whatsapp Number to be added to group"

I think this must have been where I missed it!

Patience is a spiritual force that keeps you from jumping out ahead of God even when you’ve seen something in the spirit. If you jump out ahead, you will be on your own. All your own abilities and strengths will have to be used to get the job done. You’ll work yourself into a burnout because you attempted a spiritual mission in the flesh. Then you get mad at God because what you saw isn’t working.

Impatience is deadly. The greatest mistakes in our lives will be due to impatience. God promised Abraham a child through Sarah but it wasn’t forthcoming and Sarah disbelieved. Abraham was cajoled into sleeping with Hagar, and Ishmael was born. That was the birthing of an unending problem. Impatience is deadly. We act foolishly when we make haste. Many examples remain in Scriptures of them that disbelieved and made haste. Their end was unprofitable. God works with time and He dictates when to carry out His majestic plans. There is no shame to them that wait for Him. I always remember the story of Chinese bamboo. After planting, for up to four years, it remains dormant, not much of encouraging growth. Then suddenly, during the fifth year, with the same process, it grows up to 90 feet. Actually, that is how God operates. When He gives a dream, He allows enough time of isolation and preparation.

Time spent preparing is never wasted. It was said of John the Baptist that he was “in the wilderness until the time of showing forth”. Time for preparation is not equal to the time of manifestation. We must respect our time of isolation. The difference between a ripe mango and an unripe mango is time. Unripe fruits can be devastating, but given time, it becomes sweet to the soul. He makes all things beautiful in His time. When it is your season, your shining can never be stopped. Wait, wait and wait! There is no shame to them that wait for Him.

Impatience is the driving force for most robbers, for they have refused to wait for the due process. The ‘get rich quick’ syndrome is a product of impatience; it has plunged many into hurtful deals. Seed, time and harvest will not cease; your seed is your future. Cultivate it until a fruitful tree is produced. But remember, this takes time and that time is the season of preparation. Until you hear the whistle, don’t play. Wait.

At about that time Jesus was walking through some grain fields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry, so they began breaking off some heads of grain and eating them. But some Pharisees saw them do it and protested, “Look, your disciples are breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath”




Jesus said to them, “Haven’t you read in the scriptures what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He went into the house of God, and they broke the law by eating the sacred loaves of bread that only the priests are allowed to eat. And haven’t you read in the law of Moses that the priests on duty in the Temple may work on the Sabbath? I tell you, there is one here who is even greater than the Temple! But you would not have condemned my innocent disciples if you knew the meaning of this scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices. For the Son of Man is Lord, even over the Sabbath.



We must therefore know that the teaching of the Bible as explained by Jesus in Matthew 12: 1-8 is for people to show mercy one to another. Your Sabbath day sacrifice is not the offering that you go to church to give but the mercy which you show to others on all other days especially on the Sabbath day.


Moses in his Ten Commandments number four, said people should observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, by not doing any kind of work that gives you profit on the day, but you can render free service to mankind.

The reason for this is because, God worked for six days and rested on the seventh day, He expects every man to do same, unless you are a pastor who needs to preach and serve in the church on Sunday, or you have an online ministry where you preach on Sunday, you are not expected to do any work on Sunday. If God needs rest and rested on the seventh day, then we should also.

Another teaching of Jesus about the Sabbath day (Matthew 12: 9-12)

Then Jesus went over to their synagogue, where he noticed a man with a deformed hand. The Pharisees asked Jesus, “Does the law permit a person to work by healing on the Sabbath? (They were hoping he would say yes, so they could bring charges against him).

And he answered, “If you have a sheep that fell into a well on the Sabbath, wouldn’t you work to pull it out? Of course you would. And how much more valuable is a person than a sheep! Yes, the law permits a person to do good on the Sabbath.”

It is wrong to think that observing the Sabbath day is going to church- no! On the Sabbath day do good for people more than you will ordinarily do, keep it holy by serving God just like you should do every other day. But be eager to do good for people, that is the message.


Make sure you rest and not work, because if God rested then you have no right not to rest. Remember the body is also not a machine, and even machines get tired. That is the message of the Sabbath day; to do good more than the other days, offer gifts to the poor and needy, serve God more than the days you have been busy, and rest properly to help you begin a new week!

Depression is demonic. It stifles potentials and kills initiative while laughter ventilates the soul. It keeps us open to destiny- moulding ideas. Excited people rule the world, for they never run short of divine ideas. ‘Be joyful, again I say to be joyful’. These words can be adapted from the words of Paul. He said, “Rejoice, again I say rejoice”.


A wise man said, “It takes more muscles to frown than to laugh”. Laughing is cost-effective. It yields great dividends. Joseph was undoubtedly a very joyful person. Looking at the myriad of challenges he went through, he had “reasons” to be depressed. He was falsely accused and imprisoned. In fact, he avoided fornication due to his fear for God and in spite of this faithfulness to God, he landed in prison. Somebody might have thought, “Maybe I should have given in to Potiphar’s wife. Why can’t God fight or vindicate me? What am I doing in prison”? Joseph understood the mystery of faithfulness. It becomes a seed that yields a stable future.

Christian maturity is required when it comes to such life issues. Just like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego said, “Even if God will not save us, it is not right to bow down to another god”. Obedience comes first. Obedience is always better than sacrifice. Genuine joy comes from being obedient.

There is every indication that even in prison, Joseph was exceptionally joyful. Only an active and excited man could have been given the right to lead. He exhibited strength, which is a product of joy. Dr David O. Oyedepo said, “For you to remain joyful and excited, you must break every connection with the negative past”. Joseph’s joy came from the fact that he obeyed God and was sure that God would vindicate him. There is every reason to thank God, for a “living dog is better than a dead lion”. Joseph could have been killed. God preserved his life and his destiny was preserved.

Laugh and the world will laugh with you. A cheerful person who never drags his troubles around him, but shuts them out so as not to bore others, can win the greatest number of friends. Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves. Spread sunshine wherever you go. Make people feel like new beings. By your presence, let the thoughts of others be inspired and their imagination is stirred. You should be a pacesetter.

There must be an agreement between heaven and earth, for God to accomplish His purpose. Agree with God; place yourself in His able hands. Don’t ask the question, “How shall these things be?” That was the question the father of John the Baptist asked, and he became dumb. He wondered how his wife could give birth, having been barren for so long. That was the question a king asked Prophet Elisha in 2Kings 7:1-2. The prophet prophesied a turnaround and the man did not believe. Elisha told him,”…. behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof”. If we must experience His purpose, we must believe His purpose; ‘Believing’ precedes ‘Becoming’.

In my study of biographies of great people like Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther, Winston Churchill, George Washington, etc., I discovered that although these people came from humble backgrounds they made historic marks in life.

They may have said to you what they said of Jesus; ‘Can any good thing come out of Bethlehem?’ In spite of your mistakes or background, something great will come out of you. Only believe. You are a candidate for success. God is in the business of using the most unlikely. You are most qualified. “Arise! Shine! For your light has come”.

Let these words crush your low self-esteem. Pick up yourself and look at your new ‘tree’, you have reasons to believe in that God-given dream. God has become your covenant partner. He has become your backing. He never makes mistakes. Look up; look up. Destiny has found you.
