postmann: It is a good thing that Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe do not seem to have any territorial ambitions, because if they chose to annex a few South African provinces, the defence force would be hard-pressed to stop them, especially if Lesotho decided to get into the action.
Ask me for source or bring in the mods You're new to this thread, that doesn't even count as yesterday news... we placed SS 77 LMG holes on that article and was long buried before you even discovered Nairaland. |

agaugust: One minute google searches dispute 90% of South African comments, so easy . Let's see Google dispute at least 90% of these (valid) claims: - The SANDF ranks above the NAF - The SAAF is better equipped, more experienced than the NA - The SAN is better equipment, better trained and more experienced than the NN - The South African Special Forces are better trained, better recognised than the Nigerian Special Forces - South Africa has the most advanced homegrown weapons in Africa Google me facts to counter my facts and paste links.... if not, I will haunt you with this list till the end of 2014. |

agaugust: @postmann called you glory-stealers and you were calling for moderators, is it not glory stealing when you claim United Nations controlled military forces forces from about 20 countries from all over the world, is a personal military achievement for South Africa? Even Tanzanians who commanded and led SANDF have not come here to claim self glory from a global UN operation.
Moderator should start banning people for telling open lies and making open false claims, then 90% of South African posts will become hidden . That's because you can't counter 90% of the South African threads. |

EVarn: .......fighting terrorists isnt conventional warfare, its about effective strategy and surgical strikes! You have no strategy and no surgical strikes..... Please I ask you to write a petition to your federal government to allow the SANDF to clear-up inserguncy for you.... We're ready and willing to help just say the words. |

EVarn: you were chased away from the BATTLEFIELD,i never said that the SANDF was walked out of C.A.R. by rebels(not yet),early this year the south african government sent reinforcement into C.A.R. when it was obvious that the troops are been chicken-chased all over C.A.R. by a ragtag rebel group,as for lesotho, well south africa eventually invaded, conquered and held lesotho(togo can do that!),but it is a shame indeed that SANDF were withstood in the initial assault by an army of cooks. Link which says we were chased? I have links of Nigerian soldiers running away from Boko Haram... I can help you indulge yourself. |

ocelot2006: Only 2 GPMGs and a couple of smoke launchers? The vehicle is under - armed compared to the British Army WMIK. But it's design is impressive though. No it's not under-armed, the vehicle you're referring to has the same number of machine guns - 2. Anyway it was a suggestion. |

Wake up and smell the coffee, it's morning. I thought "gathering dust" was a figure of speech as you once said. In the meantime Naija parents are crying real tears because the Nigerian army couldn't #BringBackTheGirls |

Henry120: It isn't off-topic. It was military related, and right on topic. I see no reason why you hid all the comments related to that topic. "zulu bushmen"? is that part of the topic? The past two weeks this thread has been fludeed with tribalism, economics, infrastructure, Apartheid, genocide, etc which wasn't military related all meant to undermine the two countries. In case you haven't noticed, guys who mainly do military posts (andrewza, MikeZA...... even Augububu) have left this thread because of the deliberate derailment brought by some some newcomers. If we keep to the original debate it would be cool and bring extras if they are on topic. |

Look at the General's face, he can't believe a machine-gun could be so portable. I would definitely buy these for my soldiers, 40% of my platoon would be machine gunners coz this is so portable.

dlox147: Firstly looking at the impact of both Nigeria and south Africa on their neighbors/regions Economically i will go for Nigeria as the west African economy can be said to be better than that of south Africa.
Secondly south Africa have been seen to shy away from responsibilities concerning peace keeping and military intervention, which the Nigerian Govt. gladly undertake.
Thirdly, while the Nigerian Economy is the biggest in the continent, there is still strong indication that it will grow bigger and stronger, if we continue to improve our Economic drivers.
My personal Opinion would be Nigeria not be cos i'm Nigerian plus even Egypt and Libya are regarded as Middle eastern countries than African South Africa shying away from "responsibilities"? What are we doing in Sudan? DRC? Burundi?Who forms part in first ever UN Foreign Intervention Brigade? Post facts not opinions. |

DieVluit: Be ashamed!
Ghana is doing what your brains cannot do. They take your gas. Produce electricity. supply the electricity to you and take your money.
You make a lot of babies in Nigeria, but not a lot of "thinkings".
Same thing happens with petrol and diesel.
Same thing still with your population, which has been used as a cash cow by smarter nations. 50 million babies in just 12 years = disaster bound to happen. |

EVarn: you continue to surprise me with your illiteracy, ghana's population is not up to 1/9 of ours, infact the population of lagos is more than that of ghana,of course it is easy for them to generate and distribute power than for nigeria of over 170 million people.we are working on our power,we are even considering nuclear source of energy, with nuclear energy we'll be able to generate 200,000MW of power by 2020 You will make 200 000MW of nuclear power in less than 6 years = hallucination. |
