The SUPREME BEING has a sense of humor to allow the overlapping celebrations of the birth of JESUS and Muhammad (SAW) as we are witnessing at the moment. To me, it shows the foolishness n utter wickedness in trying to divide us along religionline. Indeed, it beats imaginations that some people will happily kill and be killed for belonging to the other faiths. Ironically, the proponents of these religions advocated for peace and tolerance during their brief stay on earth,. As it stands, religion is gradually destroying humanity - the very essence of its existence! More worrisome is the fact that we are all responsible in one way or the other. Oh, how on earth is that possible? Fine, lets situate it thus with personal posers Well, I know I am yet belong to Boko Haram or other sleeper cells that kill n die in the hope of having 7 virgins in the hereafter but.. How did I find myself in a religion procession that causes needless traffic gridlock and even prevented the COAS- a constituted authority the passage of way at some point? What am i doing in a congregation that norturnally disturbs the residential neighborhood with its multiple public address systems and noise above the allowed decibels?
How did I find myself as a public advocate of the craze for the acquisition of exotic cars n private jets by the heads of denominations even when members are mired in abject squalor?
Why did I join the protesters to hold placards against the prosecution of a man whose denomination went ahead to erect additional building without clearance & permits thereby killing hundreds of people in the ensuing structure collapse? When did I become so insensitivity to the destruction in Arab and middle east nations but become hyper reactive when far less carnage occurs in the west or 'Christians states' ? Who am I to discriminate against a gentleman or deny relationship with a lady whose only shortcomings are their names-Yakubu and Aishat? Where is my heart when Countless times, I have turned away from lending a helping hand because the needy(ies) begged in the holy name of a conflicting faith? The foregoing shows how we have unwittingly shrinked the frontier of human kindness by our act of bigotry. Interestingly, the solution still lies in Religion. We have allowed the selfish n wicked few to define the tenets for so long, it is time to see the GOOD BOOKs by ourself and make deductions. Clearly, lets stand united against our common enemy: IGNORANCE. Happy Maulud and Merry Christmas to all the peace loving Muslims and Christians; Happy New year to a peaceful world. My name is Samson Yusuff and I just want to bell the cat. cc: lalastical cc:seun

someone should help me out with this film shown in d 80/90s : It was all about 2 biker-cops racing to apprehend criminals, save the helpless etc. The speed, the network of roads shown and their uniforms were a sight to behold. In fact, wanted to be a cop when I grew up. It usually had this tone: Pam Pam parampa; pararapam parara |
@18wheeler @Gandalf1 : Guys, what would i have done without you? I 'll be patient as advised. |
@18 wheeler : Thanks as usual. However, u haven't shed light into the ' instant regret mail thingy' @Gandalf: I have close to 5yrs that span thru tellering, ft and customer service. Presently, am in customer service unit @Osejie: Pls I couldn't see your pm: much as I tried. You can have my email: saysamsuf2001@yahoo.co.UK @All: let's keep hope alive . |
Hello house, special thanks to 18wheeler for his +v feedbacks. During the course of my interview, i was told that I would be coming in as Head customer service instead of head service support & that they would get back to me within a month. Kindly confirm whether or not it is possible seeing that i applied for head service support. Is it in line with stanbic to send regret mail as soon as a candidate isn't successful in any of the stages? NB : had my interview on the 14th. |
Sunday 1st ushered in the much awaited February; my excitement knew no bounds but by the evening of the same day, it was filled with great concern; nay, trepidation for my great country, Nigeria: what if the change we are expecting did not come after all? The more I tried to dismiss this, the less effective my efforts or gestures were towards reassurance. As a matter of fact, the recent happenings signposted by the purported leaked video of how election in Ekiti was rigged in favor of the new governor and the skirmishes of the ruling party which culminated to the shifting of the election by 6weeks have indeed laid credence to my silent fears that the road to freedom is still farther than we think. It may be necessary to clarify this: I am not a card carrying member of any political party and as a matter of fact, I may be voting for different parties for different posts in weeks to come. The reason is not far-fetched: the ideologies of the leading political parties appear as different sides of the same coin-cut and paste with some modifications here and there. In the disappearing act, I hereby choose personalities over parties and that is the way it is going to be for me. Talking of personalities, the person of the president leaves much to be desire and more annoying are the set of people that hobnob with him and speak on his behalf. I will dedicate the rest of the article to pointing out the action unbecoming of the number one citizen of this great country filled with highly cerebral and industrious countrymen and countrywomen and these will be catalogued as they burn my heart. When the country woke up to the grim news of the kidnap of the over 200 girls in Chibok, it took the president a whole two weeks to come to terms with the reality of the abduction: the ensuing action lacked substance and direction as well. It still beats common sense imagination that the heads of the armed forces are still in service and supervising the security of the country wherein they have failed woefully. The theatrical display of the President’s wife on the same matter became a comical relief to a bewildered nation. I will not delve into the overbearing act of the Wife of the president as we did not vote for her and does not have any constitutional right in this regard. That said, my grouse with president is that he fails to caution his wife and I won’t go further than that. The manner in which the president handles corruption, his body language and utterances on the aforementioned has made us the laughing stock in the comity of nation. Little wonder, Michael Raleigh said; when talking about the massive corruption in Nigeria that ‘we might as well burn our aid fund’. Now, officials just loot the treasury blind without care as EFCC and ICPC have since become shadows of themselves. The president at different times has said that ‘he does not give a damn”, corruption isn’t our major problem and’ stealing is not corruption’ .These utterances indeed have shown a president without the political will to fight corruption. Allegation against corrupt officials e.g. the former aviation and present petroleum ministers were treated with kid’s gloves or out rightly dismissed as no case. It appears that the only reason you get punished is when you cry against it: the case of the former CBN governor readily comes to mind. Recall he was dismissed for having the effrontery to blow the whistle of missing 20billion dollars in NNPC. Just when I thought it could not be any worse; the president used his prerogatives of mercy to pardon Diepreye Alameisehgha, a former governor who was convicted and sentenced in UK for corruption and this was done because of the personal relationship between the two. I hear that this fellow is gunning for the senate. What a shame! The amount of money expended in the power sector even after the purported unbundling of the inefficient PHCN without the corresponding leap in power supplies to the general public is another reason to demand for a change. We cannot continue in this mess. Truth is the present government was not responsible for the abyss we found ourselves but we cannot remain in this shadow of darkness with forlorn hope of an improved power supply. Where did all the billions go? Gen. Olusegun obasanjo will have to explain part of this. Well, I still don’t get why the privatized ‘Phcn”’ is still being funded by the government. The insensitivity of the Jonathan’s government is fast becoming a legend. The subsidy removal was done in most brazen way. Knowing full well that a lot of people were yet to return to their bases after the celebration of the yuletide season, the government went ahead to remove the subsidy on a Jan 1st leaving so many people stranded and temporarily dazed in its wake. A year or so ago, some graduates paid the ultimate price during poorly organized immigration entrance examination. Abba Moro, interior minister and the organizing head laid the blame solely on the dead and not minding that they were made to pay N1,000 each preparatory for registration. Isn’t this the height? Recently, 2,000+ people were reportedly killed in Baga, the government rather than issue a statement which was always the norm; played the ostrich, and sent a message to France who afterwards suffered a terror attack that left less than ten people dead. As a rider, the way that the government blames everything on politics and plays the opposition rather than the party in government indeed shows a government not in control. In another four years with this present government, we may become a banana republic. Yet, they are quick to receive praise when major feats are achieved howbeit, arrogantly. I listened to President Jonathan’s speech after we were certified free of Ebola. I could not but marvel how the government tried to score political cheap points without mentioning the real heroes and heroine-Dr. Stella Adadevoh and others who stood their ground and contained the deadly virus and in the process, paid the supreme price. Neither recognition nor an award was given for this bravery. This act ebbs out patriotism from the citizenry. I really stopped listening to the president afterwards. Much has been said and seen on the economy; classically dissected by Professors Pat Utomi and Charles Soludo. Succinctly, the economy has been mismanaged and we are in a clear and present danger! At 210 to a dollar, one wonders what the executives are still doing with the presidential fleets and budgeting a billion naira for food in Aso rock. The much publicized progress in Agriculture appears to be only on paper as price of food still remains high. In my opinion, the gains of this administration lie in road construction as the other gains in electioneering is going to be put to a litmus test in days to come. A good move recorded in the various empowerment programs for the youths will remain static in the view of the harsh economic climate. For General Muhammadu Buhari, he seems to be the needed alternative. I have checked the records and listened to his speeches. Well, he has his shortcomings; every mortal has but it is a decision am willing to take and stand by it .So, come 28th of next month, it will be an honor to march with the people’s General : not only me but my family, my friends , people in my circle of influence and my ward. I am this committed to change. Today, being the 14th of February, l wish you a peaceful Val. |

Hello nairalander, Kindly read the story below and give me your honest advic as it relates to tenancy law in lagos so I can make an informed decision. Comments are welcomed from all and sundry especially the lawyers and property experts in the house. At the expiration of my rent on may 2o13, my landlord verbally informed me of his desire to repossess the 2 bdroom hitherto in my possession. He gave me 6 months to look for a place. Fast forward to now; I finally got a place after combing the neighbourhood and told the landlord so. To my surprise, the landlord told me that I wld have to balance him the window period of 5mts I was given to look 4 a place and the truth of the matter is that I am low on fund as I v just paid for the new apartment. How true is this assertion frm my landlord? |
'To him that knoweth how to do good and doeth it not; to him, it is a sin' |
Hmmmmm. Even though i recognise the healing capacity of forgiveness, i will choose not to for these simple reasons: Women do not sleep with men without having feelings for the person unless the lady in question is a prostitute but man can sleep with a woman without any feelings. For example, in my university days, i saw a girl that i had s3x with but couldnt recognise her until i saw her arseNAL. Simple fact: i was attracted by her 'arse'. For the act itself, Man merely uses the projection of his body while the whole action takes place inside the woman |
Osaze ke. He was even responsible for the draw that cost us the qualification : throwing up begging chances. The only player I ever begged was j j okocha. |
bukatyne: i hope d 'good' book you are referin to is not the Bible. a man and a woman are equal everywhere. Please read the books in the bible again! The bible refers to women as weaker vessels. An apostle specifically admonished women to keep mute in the church, Jesus chose the disciples and they were all men etc. Here is it; there's a place for women and a place for men; swapping these positions surely has its attendant problems oh |
@kabojunkie: Our fathers had their fair share of divorce but it pails into oblivion when compared to our scorecards today. Kindly pinpoint the classical lies in my write up and we will take it up from there. I respect ur view but do not share it. A lot of failed marriages that i have seen have their root cause hinged on the single factor I have mentioned |
Suffice to say that part of the marriage failures nowadays is that both men and women have lost their traditional place or position in the institution: women, now assume the head of the family partly because of the economic situation that places bread winning privileges on the women folk and partly cux of the craze for gender equality in our generation. With due respect, women and men are not equal; the good books recognised the inequality in their injunctions and attempts to usurp such position especially in close knitted relationships will only cause chaos. It's against natural tendencies for men to be fed before women in times of famine or men are allowed to sit back while women go to the battle ground during wars. The truth is our marriages will be a lot healthier if husbands love their wives and the wives respect their husbands though there is no much of one without the other. Our women are very intelligent and industrious and husbands shouldn't be threatened by that but support them all the way and wives should Be humble enough to make their MISSION sub of their husbands: that's submission. Having an understanding that men are the HEADS and women, the neck underscores our interdependence. |
