I'm no partisan either, but we should be critical of GMB since he presented himself as a change agent during the campaign. It doesn't take 4 months to screen candidate if he HAD b4 the election of immediately after the elections which he won 2 months..So he has 6months secreening him team? He appointed Fowler as the head of FIRS without vetting his credentials- so what did his vetting team do in 6 months? Who are the members of his vetting team? Who vetted them 1st? We aren't asking to change power problems overnight or to change insecurity problems over night, but MUST hit the ground running. He doesn't need NASS to appoint an economic team. Wonder why he made some illegal appoints/actions. Spending money that's not appropriated NASS is unconstitutional. Hiring of new AMCON team is illegal.. These mis-steps could have been avoided. Naija is a $500bn empire and it's being run by a CEO- Buhari without an executive board. Dangote can't run his company like this?? Other governors have assembled a team.

GMB does need NASS approval to assemble an economic team- he hasn't apponted anyone.. So all the folks he associated with are corrupt He hasn't put together a legal counsel team- a couple of his appointments have run afoul of the constitution-all Naija lawyers are corrupt?? Time after time, it shows a president who does have consultation and team-building skills--almost all CEOs know who's capable of doing their job the moment they are gone or incapacited, but GMB is too egocentric to train or nurture a team.. Not having a team ready is part of not being ready from day one. It's like a CEO who applied for a job in 12yrs and he got hired only for him to tell his employer that it would take him 4 months to assemble his teams. A good leader is a team builder or mentor. GMB has neither assembled nor mentored any team. Everything is all round him. The point that he doesn't have loyalists says a lot of about him. No president in the history of Naija has ever created this type of executive vaccuum. This is unprecedented and stop making excuses for him.

GMB had more than 12 years to groom and mentor folks like him but he never did.. The state government employs and owes workers, not the governor. The states revenues are not only for salaries, especially when the public sector is the most wretched and unproductive part of the economy. Perhaps if NOI was not stealing from rainy day fund, the governors would not have taken the federal government to court to declare the scheme unconstitutional. Certainly many governors have been reckless in managing their states, but this is a democracy and the presumption is that you elected them with your eyes wide open.

Nobody has stolen from these governors, rather they have stolen from their people. FG budget is an act of NASS and sharing formula is legal statue-governors could have sued of FG stole from them and they never did. Tinubu sued OBJ and won when he withheld Lagos monthly allocations. Pls find better excuses for ur pay masters

The revenues of Nigeria are rightly spent on the people of Nigeria. If you have a problem with your governor, that is unfortunate but they are the elected representatives of their respective states and the president cannot fold his hands and watch workers go unpaid and strikes break out across the land to prove some point. Spending by workers also stimulates the economy and that has to be taken into consideration.
As for the office of the first lady, when you discover how it is being illegally funded, do let us know. Until then all you have is baseless speculation. The era of the ridiculous Dame is over.

It's not Nigeria that owes them but their governors. Money for worker is collected every month by their thieving governors.. Don't blame states and governors that played by the rule prudently and BLAME rogue governors u guys elected.

Just ask him! That's the reason GMB fired the guy at DMO and chooses not hire finance minister and economic adviser. GMB has increased national debt without adding one kobo to out GDP. Our credit rating could be impacted and cost of borrowing would go up. GMB's staccato manner of handling national issues is going to further sink Naija.

It's pure waste by GMB to help his sponsors just the like GEJ helped his sponsors after 2011 elections. We are spending money we don't have and making double payment for allocations that had already been paid to governors. Capital projects are still unfunded and GMB is yet to submit supplementary budget. It's not the responsibility of all Nigerians to help states like Osun, Imo etc pay their workers. States should hold their govs responsible not Nigeria!!

So far 8 APC states combined debt stock is N235bn while while 3 PDP states combined debt stock is N90bn

I think the government is right to have 're-structured the loans, civil servants in osun are being owed as much as 8 months salary likewise some other indebted states.
Further deprivation of the civil servants of there month-end reward can trigger civil unrest which can easily spread to other parts of the federation and this will not bode well for the apc led administration.
But the government should find a way of making governors/states pay for there financial recklessness , this singular action may encourage financial irresponsibility by the governors since they know that the federal government got there back.

How does this benefit states that paid their workers? How does a bridge built in Ogun state with monthly federal allocation benefit a farmer in Daura? GMB doesn't get it when it comes to economics. This is our commonweath and should Ve been used to fund capital projects or pay states for projects undertaken on behalf of FG. You don't spend ur allocation then borrow and NATIONAlIZE the responsibility to pay back what u owe!!

The most important point to note is, the states are still in debt and would still have to pay back. Using the term 'DEBT FORGIVENESS' is misleading.

FG is absolving indebted states of responsibility and at the same time approved $75m for Oshiomole to waste. FG is encouraging profligacy and wastefulness. Oil prices have fallen below $40 and these governors are going to be broke again in 6 month. GMB is spending money he doesn't have bailing politicians that contributed to his elections. Capital budget is at all time-low and we are bailing out spendthrift governors

This is our commonwealth and should have been used to bail out other governors that had received their monthly allocations and misappropriated them.
For Buhari to renege on his public promise of not recognising the office of the first land and then secretly created one and appointed SA/PA shows that he has the ulterior motive of funding this office secretely with public funds. GMB has damaged his integrity!!
