ronald4lif: One can only weep for the future of our country if we the youths reason like this. Here is a man who's allegedly discovered to have forged a doctorate degree appointed to head a commission and rather than demand for his dismissal we're making excuses.
The issue isn't whether the degree is relevant or was influential to his appointment but that he's a fraud. If truly the doctorate degree was fraudulently acquired how can we trust him with his new portfolio? Are you saying that we should overlook a crime as heinous as forgery just because he earned his other credentials genuinely?
In serious nations, this revelation, if true would cost him his new job and it doesn't only end there. He'd be banned from holding any public office and would have a criminal record that could render him unemployable for as much as 10years or forever. Good luck with ur dreams.. Good Nigerians with good conscience died long time ago. U are on a long thing! |

dabossman: Let us stop playing unnecessary politics here. That the President makes an appointment doesn't mean the person starts work immediately, especially where a Senate approval is required. He has simply put a name forward. More or less like a nomination. That is what he did with the Service Chiefs. That is the same way it was with GEJ, Yar Adua and OBJ before him. The Service Chiefs didn't start to work until after the Senate ratified their appointment. What legal scholars are you referring to bruv? The fact that GMB would make sensitive legal appointments without deferring to the constitution. GMB is supposed to know the law and hire the best constitutional scholars. He cannot be acting to correct illegalities made in the course of presidential appointments. By now, he should have known the appointments he can make without deferring to anybody.. Everything is treated as an after thought by this president #NotReadyFromDayOne. |
Politics › Re: Senators Concerned As Buhari Overlooks Law In AMCON Appointments by adconline(m): 12:39pm On Aug 20, 2015 |
Does GMB have legal advisers who are knowledgeable in constitutional law? He appointed service Chiefs without senate approval until legal scholars started pointing out the illegality of his action. Can he uphold the law for once? This new appointment shows that GMB doesn't care about Naija Constution..I wonder how he's going to execute his so called war on corruption without the rule of law.. Bishop Kukah has been vindicated!! |

I've lived in NYC and visited L.A Cali a few times too (L.A is even worse than Lag in my opinion, with its ghettos and gang-violence and all).So all what you ascribed to Lag are ever present there as well -- the good, the bad, and the ugly. bushdoc9919: Because quite simply, it costs money.....lots of money to build and maintain a good hospital in Nigeria.
Look at American hospitals. US citizens pay lots of money every year in taxes to get good amenities. Plus....hospital fees in the US are ultra high....and if you have insurance, you pay lots of money in insurance premiums to get good care. Plus, rich people in the US donate heavily to their hospitals.
And how about US med schools? Yes....medical students pay high fees, med schools and their parent universities have hefty budgets , and med schools too get heavy donations.
And standard regulatory agencies work well....because any small mess up, and the local governor can get sacked.
Yes.....Nigeria needs a standard hospital. But...if you want a system of standard hospitals in Nigeria....you have to pay the price in high taxes, and high hospital fees and insurance premiums....not this one where you pay heavily subsidised fees, and expect first class. And you have to make sure that PMB ins really interested in diversifying our economy away from oil....so that not only do we have the cash to pay for standard hospitals....but we even have the manufacturing capability to manufacture high grade equipment like MRI, CT , ECG, EEG and so on.(Because....lemme tell you....we have to import most of the things used in a standard hospital).
We do not have the money. Sad. Not entirely true. because Naija Politrickians are corrupt and selfish. South Africa has standard hospitals where Mandela was treated b4 his death.. Naija Politrickians would rather go abroad than to build one |

What the methods available? How can you transfer money when ur bank doesn't accept deposit?? You just want to argue when have not gone to the bank to confirm?? Pls stop mentioning Venezuela cos their PDVSA- Naija's equivalent of NNPC, had revenue of $113bn in FY2013. It refines its crude in Venezuela; has one of the biggest refineries in the U.S.-CITGO. It has Subsiduaries in Germany and Sweden refining oil.. While out NNPC is unable to refine. Venezuela is going broke because their govt embarked on massive social programs like free health care, school and paying of stipends to the poor- Pls don't compare this to Naija where social programs don't exist |
