@prof, well it depends on the University but from experience its a rigorous and Long process. But with genuine documents and authenticated results, you wont be denied. There were several refusals for this semester because of a new and overzealous consular but now things are back to normal even the appointment criteria for students has been scraped. Anyway admissions for spring semester has started.

First, get your self tested on STD s and Hepatitis. Then get your admission from any of the colleges or universities in Republic of Cyprus(ROC).
Its advisable to use an agent or someone already in Cyprus( Preferably a student there) to fasten your admission processing though you can do it yourself from the school wbesite, normally its your o level results, PPT data Page and birth cert for undergraduate studies or with transcripts and statement of results for graduate studies. Application fee ranges from 0-200 euros depending on the school.

Then transfer your fees through bank or western union to the school account stated in your admission letter,( do not pay to agent or student)

Then you get confirmation letter and visa notification letter that you will take to the ROC embassy in Lagos. At the embassy, they will tell you the supporting documents for your visa application, They usually don't denial visa except for over age ( you cant give a clear reason why you want to do undergraduate program at the age 35, fake documents, low account balance in your account statement or you are already on their black list.

Then when traveling to ROC, hold about 3000 euros( physical cash, the immigration officers at Larnaca Airport will surely see and count the cash before stamping you in grin.)

Then you start speaking paragallo, yiassou, efkaristou, eat Souvlaki, going to scorpios club and club zoo wink. Have a nice experinece in ROC

@luvdmx, the last one i booked was 265k on September 12 precisely, but check around, you might find cheaper.

@ola, which school? if its EMU, forget it for this semester, but if it NEU, You can still make it,if you can pay your tuition before October 10. Thanks

You can travel with emirate but make sure you have a complete flight itinerary from Nigeria to Ercan airport since you have a transit visa, Be ready to face some immigration officers hassle in MM and Dubai. Better Use Turkish Airlines or even Egypt air. If you are using any other airline apart from Turkish airlines, tell your agent to get a connecting flight from Istanbul to Ercan on Atlasjet, pegasus or Turkish airline. I can get u the ticket anyway, if some people here don't label me a scammer. Thanks

Good news! The Turkish embassy has decided to rescind the appointment criteria for students wishing to study in TRNC and Turkey.
Students who intend to study in Turkey or Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus do not need an appointment.

You are kindly advised to apply to the Embassy in person with all the application documents. grin

Certify all the academic documents that you are submitting to the embassy, they are getting back to correcting anomalies instead of outright denial.

@king, try to know your HIV and hepatitis B and C status, chest X-ray if you are a smoker before paying your school fees or if you have already paid your fees, know your status before leaving for TRCN because you will be subjected to tests on these diseases before you will apply for Muhaceret( resident permit).
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 5:14pm On Sep 09, 2012
@Ayo, the embassy is meant to call you, but they are not calling anybody now, if you are in Abuja or can travel down, go to the embassy this week, meet the guys at the gate or the guy in-charge of collection, explain to him that the school asked you to check the embassy, be passionate about it, they might take your passport and stamp your visa, if they ask you to wait till they call you, dont just go, just reason with them by disturbing or lingering around for a while. Worked for some students going to NEU last week.

@29kings. You will undergo HIV, hypotheses b and c, X-ray tests. before you get your residence permit, its preferable you do it even before paying your fees.

You can actually register for this semester if you can get to North Cyprus by October ending. Moreover if you feel that you cannot cope with the stress of updating on backlog of academic works by then, you can freeze the semester while you are in North Cyprus. You can use this time to enjoy the Island, and then continue from spring semester.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 6:51pm On Sep 06, 2012
The truth is that if you are refused a Turkish visa be it transit, you have to wait till after 6months to reapply , and I don't think anything will remedy that, If are given a note when you applied before, you can actually go to the embassy any of these work days since most of the schools in TRNC have sent all the names, you stand a great chance of them taking in your passport and stamping the visa ( worked for some people this week). If you got a rejection ( a red stamp at the rear of your passport, contact the school to refund your fees or move it to next semester( spring) when you will reapply for the Turkish visa around January 2013.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 9:08am On Aug 29, 2012
@tbobt9, you cant do anything about it other than to wait for that date, what the Turkish embassy is doing now for just Transit visa is disheartening, some people even got October appointment date. But you should have booked the appointment earlier, Before students do not need appointment but now things have changed a lot, they are even denying visas without giving any reason. so chill up, you will still register if you can get to TRNC before the first mid term exams.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 6:13pm On Aug 28, 2012
@ayo, they will call but it takes at least one month. Always check the email address you used for appointment as well.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 3:39pm On Aug 28, 2012
Chill bro, you are not alone, there are several others even since last month with that note. Don't know what the Turks are up to, but lets watch them!

Pls am talking from experience, do not use one way ticket as a first time traveler, those wolves at the airport in Nigeria will rip u off because of that. Imagine, a guy was trying to save 6k( a difference btw a return and one way ticket) but has to bribe 300 dollars at the airport before the airline officials agreed to board him. Pls buy a return ticket from Nigeria to Ercan even if its one month return ticket.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 5:18pm On Aug 25, 2012
Do not try going to Republic of Cyprus(ROC) with turkish transit visa, as you will be imprisoned and have your name blacklisted embarassed. You can only go to ROC if you are an EU citizen or Canadian citizen, or visa to Roc then from there you can cross to North Cyprus from one of the crossing points.

When i applied around 2006 feb, my dad had only about 400k deposit and they gave me visa, but things have changed now, from 1m and above will due. You dont CAC and tax Clearance cert any more. all the questions they will ask you are things you know, from school name, school fee, course, sponsor and any other funny questions. Before, your answers to these questions means nothing but now, a new consular is in charge, you have to know those things, just be bold, there is nothing difficult there.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 3:48pm On Aug 01, 2012
Might even know you in person(just may be). Well am using this opportunity to tell intending students to ask any embassy related quetions here or NEU questions here, I will help as I can if am online though. Thanks and out.
Travel / Re: North Cyprus by Ade001: 3:32pm On Aug 01, 2012
Mr wip, am a graduate of EMU grin, I know how things work there. Things are changing, how can the first 10-12 candidates from NEU got denials till the remaining candidates from the same school start calling the school authorities and them in turn making calls to Turkish Embassy in Lefkosa before the last applicants for the day were given visas after so much delay, even there payment receipt had 30th of July date while the visa date reads 31/7. Though all the students from EMU had their visas. Well I have a friend that is working at the embassy who told me that they dont have names from NEU till yesterday evening. Things are changing becos before they will tell you that your name isnt with then yet, and that you check later but now, anything leads to denial.
