May our paths* never cross (Amen) |
Hmm, I have learnt a whole lot reading through all these posts today, from page 1 to 13 @Uju I guess your eyes will still be closed when up-coming guys with potentials hit the top. May our parts never cross (Amen) |
jodeci:Kai, this is getting personal. Na wa o @op You called for insults, you will receive it in abundance. To list qualities of a man you'd like to marry like u'd list a horse's qualities for a horse race, you're in for serious insults |
chukz4real: ![]() bad guy ! |
If you have nothing to bring to the man's marriage table, then please do not go near the rich man. I love success, i love progress, i love development, so even if i'm not related to the rich man, i'd advice you not to go near him to run him down. When the guy is all made, what da heck does he need you for ? A man needs a woman for companionship, to bear his children and to help him grow in every area of his life. When the guy has made it financially, i think he will be most kind to let you take on the role of a child-bearing machine which you really should be. Please erase this kind of thinking from your mind or your fingers will be burned. These are the type of girls that become prey to ritualists and fraudsters. You are simple and moderately comfortable, why dont u look for a simple and moderately comfortable guy too, and you both build up your riches. This is not only selfish, gold-digging, but also wicked thinking, I hope this topic does not depict who you really are or guys will ever run away from you. Please fade |
I got my first and third jobs on Nairaland too !. Thanks Seun, you make sense. ![]() |
@poster, the answer to your question is in your screen name: persist ! You remind me so much of my first job. The solution: Dont be too afraid, be calm, codes dont bite Just take it piece-meal, step by step Get each line to work, then a code block, then a method, then a class, then a package, then an API Learn to break the complexity into small chunks, and i bet you, when you finally get it, you won't want to leave programming for any other job in your life. Above all, read, read, read, read, and, make www.google.com your homepage ![]() Cheers |
nonysmith:Noted, I apologise, @poster, wishing you all the best, sorry for my outburst ![]() |
Why does every Tom, prick and harry want to switch into I.T the moment they can't get jobs in their fields ? I believe when you decided to study a course in school you signed an invisible bond to stick with that thru thick and thin. How can we ever move forward in Nigeria if supposed professionals jump ship at the slight instant, I was one of the best students in my dept in school, but i spent 10months at home after NYSC, i culdnt imagine myself doing a boring bank job after having invested so much in my career when i was in school, All i knew was that i just needed a little opening, any job, and that would be it, with this mentality, i was able to accept a job of 30k (15k for the first two months), 3months later, i got another job of 60k, and now on another of double that, and i am just starting, Guy, you need to get your acts right !, There are so many people out there that would give an arm for those Chemical Engr. degrees you have, ask me, cos i wish i did engineering too ! Abeg, no flood I.T with your Toronto certificates o!, anyway, bring them on, cos if you meet someone like me on an interview panel, i always know how to separate I.T jobbers from I.T enthusiasts, Guy, the ball is in your courts |
what are the questions ? |
javaprince:and the java bluetooth APIs |
Adetek: ![]() |
azpunpin:and for this error, the problem could be as a result of any of the following: 1. Either the code has been compiled yet, so the java classloader can't load the class 2. If the class is defined as part of a package, to run this program, you use java packagestructure.classname and not java classname So, fix any of the above that applies to you ![]() |
azpunpin:The above is wrong. You are trying to invoke the nextInt method on kb (an instance of the Scanner class), and not access a public member variable of the instance It should be kb.nextInt(); |
@buddie, ur signature says it all (" If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bullshit" , Leave the guy jare, if there are no loud-sounding novices like this around, people wont appreciate the experts, Just leave him with the publicity, i'm loving it ![]() |
fitconsult:HA !!!!!!!!! |
dammytosh:It is used to open the "main program" too, because main is a program on its own ![]() |
okunade:Naija ! ![]() Bossman:Best post so far ! ![]() |
This guy (charliebiz) is still a big novice. He should learn how to connect his web form to the database first and not bug people's minds with how to forward emails to databases. His recent posts are still on beginner-level bugs, Please charliebiz, use your brain more, and dont bug our minds. You'd be surprised he cant even use 0.1 of all the suggestions here. The guy just wants to learn how to submit form entries into the database, and he should go ahead to learn that, nobody can think for you Mr charliebiz ![]() |
How |
@yawa-ti-de -- Nice, I love you points. Guys, i have this habit of writing complex code, I mean if something should be done in 10 lines, i try to write it in just 2 or 3 lines, using complex constructs but with great indentation and insightful variable names. Is this really a bad code habit ? Some enlightement pls |
Godman_n:No, that's wrong! You can actually use numerals in the order by. e.g. if you say select pdtName, pdtDesc, pdtPrice from pdtDetails order by 1, the select query orders by the first field in the select statement i.e. pdtName or if you say select pdtName, pdtDesc, pdtPrice from pdtDetails order by 3, the select query orders by the 3rd field. so order by rand() returns a random number which will now determine the field to order by. I don't know what will happen however if the number returned by the rand() function is greater than the number of fields returned by the select query. Find out ! |
Kobojunkie:Thanks too Kobojunkie, you opened up my thoughts to something else. @davidt, based on Kobo's query above, why not re-arrange the table with the "order by rand()" first, before selecting from it. i.e. select * from (Select * from TableName order By rand()) limit 50 |

d keith guy is just plain boring, i believe he'll be good too with time, cos even Dan started from somewhere. I will miss listening to Dan Foster so much. Even my dad wey be old school attests to the fact that he is funny. My mama wey no dey hear oyinbo rapping sef just know say d guy is funny. Dan Foster has this love for Nigeria, and a special way of spicing conversations up. Make Kemi Olateru-Olagbegi and Freeze no go too abeg o!, but please could Cool FM give me time to Radio Graffiti ?, that's d only other programme that keeps me waiting on cool fm till 3pm everyday. I go miss Dan Foster o!, because of am na im i go buy phone with FM . ![]() |

google up Jar2Exe. It's a software for creating .exe from jar files |
Wow!, very nice topic. I didn't finish with a first class, but i've been the best a couple of times. Like ife-eco said, 1st class students are always calculating their G.Pd ![]() Yeah, very true You have to constantly review your position and your chances of making first class given the worst scenario. Also, you have to study yourself and know when best you assimilate so that your least effort will produce maximum effect. Also you have to make use of very good materials to make you stand out from your peers. You also have to be in touch with your class, know the direction everyone is heading, pick all their best ideas, remix it, add more flavor, and release your own version in style. You also need a crazy work habit, a consistently-high work rate, and keep reading at any point any time. |
Bossman:HA! Bros, u wan kill am ? Person wey never even sabi HTML finish, you dey suggest Java, im head go kolo fast fast. ![]() |
kanirip:I don't the replies are trying to scare the chap from programming, rather he is being told the plain truth. @poster -- Are you ready to go sleepless nights several days because of some lines of code ? -- You wont be able to think straight, and your head is just jammed, and you can't still put your problem across to people because it's not something they can see ? -- You have an innate crave for perfect code instead of semi-automating your code -- You don't give up easily -- You are a super-fast thinker. -- and after all the hard labour, you get paid peanuts Bro, there are no two ways, if you don't have the talent for programming, you won't stand out, and you will always opt out at the slightest opportunity |

, the poster needs direction and constructive advice not condemnation, remember pride comes b4 a fall, so because u don dey earn 120k make nobody come IT again even if i read yoruba technology SEF, taketime ohhhhh
