I seriously hope you are not going to decide what to do by reading people's opinions here. You are the only person who knows whether you want to marry her or not and it's funny you brought this to an online forum for random people to decide for you whether you should marry her or not. You want to know whether she will say yes or no? Guess who knows the answer to that? Exactly ! Her. Not the people on this forum so guess who you should be asking ? Not trying to be offensive man... |
BBN which is supposedly a 'porn monster ' runs for a couple of months once a year but no one talks about the massive amount of 'immortality' that teenagers and youths are constantly exposed to on the internet, in music vidoes , movies both local and foreign... Bottom line ; banning BBN wouldn't have much of an influence on the 'morality' of the youths. Contents that stain the 'morality' of Nigerian youths is way more rampant and pervasive than BBN So why ban it when it will barely have any influence on the supposed morality of the youths and the show gets a massive amount of viewership which means there's plenty of money to be made |
The advice you'll get from most people here is that school is a scam so you might want to look elsewhere for a useful advice. Also, Nairaland isn't the best place to get advice on the things you should do with your life. The demographics here is ridiculously biased at most things and many times, you won't see any form of rationality in the comment about such issues. Go seek advice physically from people who actually have experience about the course instead. I doubt you'll find anything encouraging here |
Explorers already knew about the Niger river before Mungo Park. What he did was to discover the flow of the river. They thought it flowed in the opposite direction until Mungo Park explored it better. |
I've always admired the military and I've been thinking of joining the Airforce after medical school. I do have some questions that I really wish to get answered by a Doctor in the Nigeria army : - How rigorous is the recruitment process ? Can an average physically fit person survive ? - How much experience will you be able to gain compared to doing residency - Can you opt out whevener you feel like ? - Would you say it's worth it as there's a lot of talk about how corrupt the military is ? |
Guess it's time to learn some good old German. Been thinking of what language to learn actually so thank you for . Danke tensazangetsu20: |

I heard of the recent massive rates of registration for the PLAB exam and I'm a little worried that by the time I'm done with medical school ( should be more than a year from now ) and finish my house job, there won't be any more space or opportunity to write the exam and move to the UK. Is this worry valid ? If yes , what other developed countries are relatively easy to get into as a Nigerian doctor? I know I'm supposed to be concerned solely on school but it has always been the dream to practice abroad hence the concern. |

Patriarchy. The male sex is seen as superior so it seems 'cool' for a girl ( the sex seen as inferior) to act like the superior sex. The superior sex acting like the inferior sex however? Nah that would seem unreasonable. Just like how say a hundred years ago in America, a black man acting white could be seen as civilised but a white n****ga ? Now that would be seen as unacceptable Also, like one of the posters above me said, most of the hatred for trends like this and homosexuality doesn't come from the fact that people care so much about some imaginary balance of life being maintained or about what the scripture says, it comes from the fact that such things threaten their own senses of identity, sexuality and normalcy |
Ideologies that underlie that of the redpill bears an eerie semblance to those that have nurtured horrible societal divisions and vices and we certainly do no need any more of those! The believe that a certain group of people are horrible and inferior have nurtured all sort of evil in our society- it is the irrational believe that blacks are inferior and 'uncivilized' that have fuelled such horrors as racism, apartheid and slavery. The believe that the Jews and other races are inferior seemed like a good justification of their extermination by the Nazis. So I ask y'all redpillers do we actually need to start seeing another group of people as inferior, manipulative and not deserving of love or respect? In case you haven't figured females aren't some minority group or race , these are the people that represent HALF of the human population just as males . Does it make any rational sense to preach or believe in the hatred of half of the human population based on what you read on some online platform or even anywhere? This isn't some chauvinistic message this is an urgent call for a rethink by redpillers to desist from philosophies that have caused so much terror in human history. Not hating and respecting a woman doesn't make you a simp it makes you HUMAN |
Guys need to stop giving money to their girlfriends. Really it just breeds a population of women with an irritating entitlement mentality. It makes many of them believe it's their constitutional right to be taken care of by men. If y'all stop giving money to them because they are your girlfriends then many girls will actually start working hard and trying to make their own money too! We can actually have a society with more smart , creative , educated and successful young girls if many guys can just stop fuelling this sense of entitlement that many girls have |
I seriously do not understand why or how it has become the responsibility of guys to take care of the financial needs of whom they are dating. This is of course the norm in the typical Nigerian dating scene but I still don't understand the rationale behind it. As in you actually pay someone (who can work for her own money) because the BOTH of you are in a relationship TOGETHER? Am I missing something? This isn't to shade Nigerian girls but that entitlement mentality that many of y'all have is just disgraceful. |
I think this post should be moved to the front page. Nairaland is an important online platform with more than 2.5 million members and if many posts and comments on this platform openly bash women then that should be a huge cause for concern. Folks, it's not just about who they are, it's about the fact that preaching hate against a certain group of people who do not identify as a societal threat is plain wrong and inhumane ! We were all clamouring for an end to police brutality and oppression and here we are supporting the abuse of the other gender . Mods on nairaland really need to do something about it because nairaland is almost becoming a forum for just spreading misogynistic messages. |

Good evening nairalanders! So I a friend who really wants to learn how to make popcorn in Lagos but doesn't know where to learn it from. She doesn't want to learn how to make just any regular type of popcorn but a really delicious and sophisticated type of popcorn. Not the type you buy by the roadside. She's clueless about where to learn this from in Lagos and learning it online will be difficult and kinda unrealistic because she has no prior experience or even the equipments. Help nairalanders please? Mods can you please move this to the front page ? |
Olalan:Many messages by inspirational speakers entails things like being persistent in your dreams and to continue trying and to not give give up and things like that and I still don't know how being persistent about your goals isn't in tune with modern day reality . Maybe they are a bit dramatic with their delivery but is the core message wrong though? |
yanabasee1:The important question is , do you think they are fraudsters for trying to make you can achieve anything you want and paying for their services in return ? I mean therapists get paid to solve psychological problems and inspirational speakers kinda do something similar . lack of motivation is a psychological issue too and they try to solve that and get paid for it |
madridguy:yea but isn't that how many successful businesses start ? they start small and several failures and a lot of hard work and dedication later , they become successful |
In recent times , inspirational speakers are being portrayed as fraudsters. Many people these days see them as people who are good orators but sort of out of touch with reality and all the pep talk about how you can achieve anything you want and how you have more in yourself than you believe is seen as just a speech that feels good to hear but not exactly real. So what do you think? inspirational speakers deserved to be ridiculed or not ? |
Bro these are remarkable ! I do realism but I've always wanted to be able to make hyperrealistic images like this for a long time and you'd be changing my life forever if you could give a quick rundown of how you make images like this. What type and grade of pencil do you use to shade the skin ? And how do you blend it ? How do you shade those eyes ? Both the iris and the white part ? |
it's most likely not a cancer cause of the pain, the sudden onset and cause you are a guy ( breast cancer is not a common condition in men ) . there is pus production which indicates an infection . You should visit a doctor . But till then, I'll suggest you go to a pharmaceutical store and buy a chilled bottle of coke cause there's probably nothing to worry about |
Glory12345: waleyp: Glory12345:Thanks very much. But I've had close experiences with infinix phones and I'm not really a fan |
I'm a new member on nairaland. I'm currently planning to buy blackberry z3 (that's what my budget can afford). Advice and reviews please? |
I'm sorry but this question is a question you should have asked before you started out at all |

Stop being a goddamn narcissist! There are more important things in life than your appearance. And for the record, you don't have good looks. You are not ugly though |
