Even me earning 250k/month is very scared to get married let alone breed, until I'm able to set up a business and pay my employees comfortably for the 1st 6months. But some people would want to prove sey dem sabi do kerewa pass you undecided
Well, you are right in a way. But a poor person who because of poverty refuses to have children is just postponing or let me say lengthening the evil day.
I have seen poor people who produced children and struggled to educate those children, even if it was just public schools, who are enjoying today by depending on those children.

My uncle has four children. He was a teacher like his wife in those days. It was hard. They used to come over every Xmas.
But the first son finished from medical school in 2005 and from the money he earned during out man ship bought his dad a BMW. Today they live in their own house.
If the man had decided not to have children because he was poor. I wonder where he would be now, especially since he worked in osun state where pensions were not paid as and when due. The Koko is to make sure those children get educated.

The government doesn't care, no matter who is there. The last time the government cared a bit was in 2000 when Obj increased salaries. Even my neighbor who was a teacher bought a car that year. She also bought a used " color TV' for the first time. Imagine what Nigerians have been going through.

Oga rest. You probably didn't even watch the video for you to be yarning this your opata. Besides, no tribe was attributed to the feat. So carry your okoto yarns comot here. You guys should seriously work on your inferiority complex, as a matter of urgency. Smh.

I believe the Lebanese had more cash (maybe due to a stronger currency) and could develop a larger area to sell. The Nigerians built personal houses mostly. That's why it looks that way. I'm sure it was the Lebanese guys who did the buildings that developed the landscape as well. The blame should fall on Chaugory and whoever is also in charge of banana island for failing in the landscape development and not people who bought land to build their houses. They corrected their mistake with Eko Atlantic, buh right now. Eko Atlantic is too costly for even the very rich to develop.
You Are wrong at bolded. The Lebanese you see in Nigeria are mostly Nigerians. There is no talk of a stronger currency. The only point is that they are international businessmen. Just like Sangote and Adenuga.

That list is bvllshit. Aren't you tired of looking for the worst about Nigeria.without bringing suggestions about development to the table.

You know why your list is nonsense?Having Algiers on that list invalidates the whole thing. grin The French spent a lot to make Algiers one of the best places in the Mediterranean.

Yes, the way you always present the threads show you're happy about Africa's problems, so that you can laugh and call people monkeys and all sorts of names. There's another guy like you on nairaland who calls himself suffer and smiling. His passion is looking for horrible pictures about Nigeria.

You can present your points in more constructive ways if your aim is really because you want your society to change. And show us what you've done in your own little way.
There is a thread by Ngpatriot where he was planting tree seedlings in his town. Now imagine what that town would look like in 10 years time. Why can't you show us something like that?

Then those houses must be TORN DOWN before it is too late. The longer lagos waits to do this, the more expensive it will be. If you want to use density as an excuse, here is Mubai, India. Look at how wide and pleasant their streets are.

Lagos will never be a modern city until this basic improvement is made to the transportation network.
It depends on what you are looking for. I can also get you pictures of Mumbai to rubbish your point. It's easy to always criticise Lagos, Nigeria and the black race. But what have you ever changed in your society? Even in a little way. With a GDP per capita of $5,000 (according to the Financial Times) Lagos is almost as wealthy as South Africa on a per person basis. But foreign visitors to the city are often stunned by the subhuman conditions in the sprawling metropolis. The private sector is doing its part to remedy the situation -- pushing the cities skyline higher with multi-million dollar skyscrapers such as the Famfa Oil Tower, the Cuddle and Number 4 Bourdillon.

But even the most prestigious districts of Lagos -- Ikoyi, Lekki, and Victoria Island -- still looks like underdeveloped. Why?

The streets are simply too narrow for this level of density. This gives these elite areas a sense claustrophobia that no number of beautiful skyscrapers can improve. The first image is Bourdillon in Ikoyi. The second image is a similar street in Shanghai, China The wide streets in the Asian city allow for a smooth flow of traffic and make the area look wealthier and more developed -- even if you removed the skyscrapers.
You this pained boy again? Did you know the population density in Lagos is at least 3 times higher than Shanghai? Building those wide roads is easier in places like Shanghai and Abuja than Lagos. Many houses have to be pulled down in Lagos if you want to see many of such wide roads in Lagos.

I hope you know u ain't making any sense because I know many yoruba graduates married to stark illiterates.

The reason I stretched this discussion this far is to allow you massaging your lies.

Sometimes in public forum, it better to keep shut than trying to sound foolisshhhh with an explanation.

By your submission, all Yorubas that went to school are married to educated men. Listen to yourself before talking next time.
There are exceptions to every rule but you hardly find an educated Yoruba girl marrying an uneducated man, especially when the man doesn't even have a trade he has learnt. Unless the man is very rich.

So yoruba ladies don't marry men without descent Job?
It's going to be very hard to find an educated Yoruba girl marrying an uneducated man working as an attendant in a small seedy hotel. How does she explain that to the family?
And in this case, it wasn't as if love or anything serious was involved. Just little money. Haba, I shame for the girl and her family.

What I said its the obvious truth na.....Yorubas backstab, condemn, attack, join Hausa-Fulani to marginalize Igbos politically and economically in Nigeria out of whatever reason best known to them.....since they hate Igbos that much and love Hausa-Fulanis so much, why can't they remove eye from Igbo ladies and marry more Hausa-Fulani girls they love, why is it difficult for them to do, why

You cannot hate something and still desire to have that thing na, is it not madness

Once its politics time, they wear their tall agbada and long cap and head to Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Sokoto.....to discuss how Igbos will never become President......but when its time to marry fear won't let them go to their almajiri friends up north to marry, the will now rush back to Igbos they hate to start acting pretentious lovey dovey nonsense, I blame the Igbo girls stupidly accepting to marry them....and mostly their father who ought to chase them out of his compound with long cutlass, I hate nonsense angry angry
This is too much, bro. Yorubas do not hate ibos.

Even if they are living in Yorubaland, the system suppose to be strict.

It is now becoming a trend and needs to be check-mated.

This is after effects of parents been loose with their children instead of properly guiding them from infancy.
This is deep! Are you suggesting that as a parent, one should warn his children not to marry from certain tribes.
I have a friend in Lagos who doesn't even have a good WASSCE result. But he is married to a young IBO lady who is a graduate all because he has money to spend. And his job is not really decent, he is an attendant in a small hotel in Ikeja where staffs survive by pocketing the hotel's money. Even proper, educated Yoruba girls would not marry him. But this IBO girl jumped at him. I was surprised.

I wonder why we have lost our confidence as a people and nation. While other smaller countries are improving their skyline with breathtaking skyscrapers. e.g Kenya and even Rwanda.Nigeria is foolishly building 5to10 story structures and calling them towers.if you check the skyline of Abuja it has not changed from what it was 20 years ago.even the millennium tower that was supposed to serve as a national monument is in ruins and countries like Ghana have completed all the projects that were started long after it.even those that call themselves billionaire would prefer to buy a billion naira land and put up a 500million naira property on it.like the rubbish Mike Adenuga is putting up in banana island.Nigeria just needs to be re colonized.because the only period they was semblance of real confidence and development was when we were freshly out of colonial rule because almost everybody body had the oyibo mentality. that is why theywere able to develop the Marina district of Lagos island.since we lost the confidence as a country and people.you can hardly hear a Nigerian talking of building skyscrapers talkless of the government. The few tall buildings you see in Victoria island are owned by the libanese.
