Vijon: hi all,i was installing a pd-proxy app i downloaded online on my laptop nd all of a sudden it went off nd couldn't reboot till now.i ve tried d repair option nd was told it can't be repaired automatically.I ve also tried d safe mode nd last known configuration wit d F8 key all to no avail.can anyone here help me reboot d laptop coz i dont wanna format d pc coz of some files i dont want to loss

My hp 620 cd rom which is re-writeable rejects most dvd and installation cds, it spits out the rejected dvds while the installation cds are seen as empty once they are inserted. Out of 10 working installation cds tested on my desktop only 3 installed while the others read empty cds. Does it mean the cd rom is bad and how much will it cost me to get a working re-writable cd rom for hp 620?
