Computers / Amd And The New Cores Help! by adewaleafolabi(m): 7:16am On Dec 15, 2010
I am planning to get a new laptop which would be basically used for my trannings as I'd be doing a lot of Virtualizations. The usual me would simply stick to an Intel cause there's the norm that Intel are supposed to be faster and give out more power than their AMD counterparts. However, is this an urban myth?  grin
I need simple facts, am open to suggestions, i know this has been dealt with in some threads but new processors are out there and i need to make a choice. For intel am looking at max a core i3  grin
Educate me politely  grin
Thanks

ahhh!!! young man, u actuallyrun a linux cafe!!! great!!! man like your probably the laziest cafe admin in town!! wink wink wink wink

do u even do anything at all apart from battle with your isp?

anyway what do u do for timer? that has been my only ish else i would be commercially deploying linux cafes for pple grin grin grin grin

im guessing u use one theme pack that looks like windows? why bother, just use mint and put links to google chrome and firefox on the desktop, thats even less wahala (u dont have to even do anything after installation) wink wink wink as long as the menu thingy looks like windows im sure pple will be cool, afterall they is there to surf no? wink wink big ups men, nice one

agan, somebody pls help me write a script that does this:

f4ll3rbuntu@4ll3r:~$ cd '/home/f4ll3rbuntu/YF7'
f4ll3rbuntu@4ll3r:~/YF7$ sudo java -jar freedom.jar
[sudo] password for f4ll3rbuntu:
the place for the password just highlight so i can input and save the script as a custom launcher!

PLEASEEEEE!!!!!

then for dial up, well if am not mistaken, wvdial and network manager are your only options o. not entirely satisfactory true, but what can you do?
u want to know your total monthly usage shey? hmmn, well dont shut down grin grin but seriously maybe u shld just take inventory everytime b4 u shut down and put it in a doc somewhere, end of the month add it up!!!

For the java stuff you could just create a file where ur java jar is. Name it whatever.sh
open in gedit
#!/bin/sh
exec java -jar whateverfilename.jar
save
right click set permission enable execution as a program.

For timer you could use a mikrotik router enabling its hotspot feature.

Software/Programmer Market / Python Help by adewaleafolabi(m): 2:03pm On Jul 21, 2010
Hello,
I am in need of a complete python video tutorial that would cover from basics to more complex stuffs. I've tried searching and the ones i got were either scattered or no impressive. I program in Java and would like to make a shift to python. Now thats where the video tutorial comes in, i don't really have much time like that since school work (Economics) is still there, I enjoy programming but Java takes just too much time doing some basic tasks but overall its still a language i really love.

Back to the main issue I've tried VTC introduction to python programming but that was just too super basic. I'd really be glad if someone could point me in the right direction. Lynda PHP tutorial was a very very complete tutorial. I'd love a python tutorial as organized as that.

But if there isn't any, then please post the ones you found useful.

Thanks

Thanks, to all of you, you've helped me greatly an am so grateful. Still have a problem with the sms integration though. Simplewire doesn't seem to be nigerian bulk sms companies. Web2sms has a gateway like this
www.web2smspro.com/confirm_reseller_voting.asp?phonenumber=0803xxxxxxx&url=www.yourwebserveraddress.com&username=user&password=1234&senderid=web2smspro&countrycode=234&message=Testing

how do i integrate this into java. is it sensible for instance am sending 1000 sms at once to use this http wouldn't that kill their server? or lead to denial of service for me.

This is the last end of my app. Thanks
