Christianity EtcSeven Deadly Sins Christians Must Never Commit by ADEWUMIMichael(op): 7:24am On Mar 05, 2017
Happy First Sunday of the month all my fellow NL....
.
.
.
.
There are these seven deadly sins which all xtians must stay away from which i will like to share with you all
.
.
.
.

These seven deadly sins in their current
form are not found in the Bible, however
there are biblical antecedents. One such
antecedent is found in the Book of
Proverbs 6:16–19, however only in the
Masoretic Text (the earlier translated
Septuagint version of this passage lacks
a clear preface and lists only five).
Among the verses traditionally
associated with King Solomon, it states
that the Lord specifically regards "six
things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven
are an abomination unto him", namely:

.
.

.
.

.
1. A proud (vain) look

.
2. A lying tongue.

.
3. Hands that shed innocent blood

.
4. A heart that deviseth wicked acts

.
5. Feet that be swift in running to
mischief

.
6. A false witness that speaketh lies

.
7. He that soweth discord among
brethren
.

.
.
Please stay away from sins, Hell is real

Christianity EtcThese 2 Books Of The Bible Didn't Mention The Name God Throughout (SEE WHY) by ADEWUMIMichael(op): 7:27am On Feb 26, 2017
The Bible is a story of God’s relationship with mankind, and most books put God front and center. For example: The prophets are God’s mouthpieces: the last 17 books of the Old Testament are mostly words straight from God.

The Gospels focus on Jesus’ life and ministry. Jesus, the God-man, is the main character in all four books. The Law of Moses is about God’s covenant with and rules for Israel..

But as it turns out, two books of the Bible don’t talk about God at all . Weird, right?

ESTHER Esther is the kind of story you could make into a movie again and again and again. This book focuses on two Jews in Susa, the capital of the Persian Empire: Esther, a girl who becomes queen, and her relative Mordecai, a member of King Ahaseurus’ guard.

If you’re not familiar with the story of Esther, you can get the big picture here . In short, Esther risks her life to prevent an act of genocide against her people. It’s the history of the Jewish feast of Purim.
And there’s no mention of God. So, that’s one down.

Here’s the next:

SONG of SOLOMON.....

Song of Solomon might be the most awkward book to read. It’s a celebration of love, beauty, sex, and marriage. The main characters are a bride and bridegroom, who sing back and forth to one another and to their community. You’ll find a lot of poetic references to the human anatomy, but you won’t see any mention of God as a person...

This one isn’t as cut-and-dry as Esther. There’s one passage of Song of Solomon in which the bride describes the strength and intensity of true love. She compares this love to a fire, but what kind of fire? Our English Bible translations tend to differ on how Song of Solomon 8:6 should end.

Why don’t these books mention God? There are a few reasons these books don’t mention God: There are no direct words from God. Most books of the Old Testament mention prophets, who speak on God’s behalf; neither of these stories, however, include any spokespersonh for God.

There are no overt miracles. When God does something completely out of the ordinary, the Bible credits Him for it. But Esther is a story of human action, and Song of Solomon focuses on human love.

What are these books even doing in the Bible, then? These books don’t stand alone. We should read them in context of God’s covenant with Israel. And when we take that into account, it’s clear that there’s a lot going on below the surface.

For example, Esther and Mordecai are placing their faith in something beyond themselves: Esther and Mordecai fast in times of troub Mordecai is confident that the Jews will be delivered. Mordecai and Esther act in faith throughout the book. Mordecai is a man of integrity, and Esther is a self-sacrificial heroine. We don’t know for sure if Mordecai had God’s promises to Abraham and David in mind when he claimed that the Jews would be delivered ( Es 4:14 ). But words from God would make a good foundation for those beliefs. Esther gives me an idea of what faith looks like when it’s played out, and leaves me with the question: is my faith as evident as Esther’s and Mordecai’s?.

And Song of Solomon describes the bliss of married love. God sees His relationship to Israel as one of marriage, even though Israel is a terrible bride to Him. Jeremiah , Ezekiel , and Hosea all use marriage to describe God’s covenant to Israel—usually to paint a picture of Israel’s sin ( Jer 3:1 ; Eze 16 ; Hos 1).
Christianity EtcIs It Proper To Skip Praise & Worship On Sunday Service ? by ADEWUMIMichael(op): 7:11am On Feb 26, 2017
We have so much to praise God for,
there's great power in giving honor
to Him. And many of you live that
truth out, every single day of your
lives. The Bible is filled with
examples of praise when we see His
power released - life-changing
miracles, dramatic stories of the
enemy being halted or defeated,
hearts being changed and drawn
closer to Him.

Yet reality is that way
too often, daily struggles or
constant life demands can crowd
out our praise to God. We might
check the worship box at church
and somehow think we’re good for
the week. And all the while, with
souls distant and cold, we sing
words, we listen to music, then we
go home.

Praise and Worship -
Why Should We do it?
God alone is worthy of
our devotion, praise
and worship. He is God,
our Creator, and we are
commanded to praise
and worship Him.

Psalm 96:9 says,
"Worship the Lord in
the splendor of his
holiness; tremble before
him, all the earth."
Psalm 29:2 says, "Give
unto the Lord the glory
due his name; worship
the Lord in the beauty
of holiness."

A.W. Tozer said,
"Without worship, we
go about miserable."
God doesn't want us to
be miserable -- He has
a perfect plan for our
lives. He has done so
many things to show
us that He loves us and
doesn't want us to be
miserable. He wants us
to have hope for a
future with Him --he
wants us to have
eternal life in heaven
with Him.

A life of praise and
worship fills our
deepest needs, and
amazingly, it also
brings great joy to God.
Zephaniah 3:17 states,
"The LORD your God is
with you, he is mighty
to save. He will take
great delight in you, he
will quiet you with his
love, he will rejoice over
you with singing."

Praise and Worship -
How Do We do it?
God tells us how to
praise and worship him
in His Word. John 4:23
says, "Yet a time is
coming and has now
come when the true
worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and
truth, for they are the
kind of worshipers the
Father seeks." In order
to worship God in truth,
we need to know that
Jesus said "I am the
way and the truth and
the life. No one comes
to the Father except
through me." So, before
you can worship in the
way that God desires,
you have to develop a
relationship with Him
through faith in Jesus,
His Son.

The best way that we
can praise and worship
God is with our every
thought and action.
Romans 12:1-2 states,
"Therefore, I urge you,
brothers, in view of
God's mercy, to offer
your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God -- this
is your spiritual act of
worship. Do not
conform any longer to
the pattern of this
world, but be
transformed by the
renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to
test and approve what
God's will is -- his
good, pleasing and
perfect will."

Praise and Worship -
Love from the Heart
Many people think that
praise and worship is
only singing songs at
church, but it is so
much more! It is also a
condition of your heart
-- a willingness to exalt
God and yield to his
will. Worship is an
expression of love and
awe to the God who
gives us more than we
deserve. Whether you
express your worship
by singing, playing
music, dancing or in
some other way,
remember that you are
called to worship God
with your every action,
every day of your life.
God is holy, loving, and
worthy of all our
worship and devotion.

"Love the LORD your
God with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your
strength" (Deuteronomy
6:5).

Now. can a Sunday service ever be
complete without praise and worship ??

Christianity EtcThe (scientific) Death Of Jesus, A Message To All Christians by ADEWUMIMichael(op): 7:53am On Feb 19, 2017
THE (SCIENTIFIC) DEATH OF JESUS

For the next 60 seconds, set aside whatever You're doing and take this opportunity! To know a little more about JESUS:

At the age of 33, Jesus was condemned to death .

At the time Crucifixion was the "worst" death. Only the worst Criminals were condemned to be crucified. Yet it was Even more dreadful for Jesus, unlike Other criminals condemned to death by Crucifixion Jesus was to be nailed to the Cross by His hands and feet.

Each nail Was 6 to 8 inches long.

The nails Were driven into His wrist. Not Into His palms as is commonly Portrayed. There's a tendon in the wrist that Extends to the shoulder.

The Roman guards knew That when the nails were being hammered into the Wrist that tendon would tear and Break, forcing Jesus to use His back Muscles to support himself so that He could Breath.

Both of His feet Were nailed together. Thus He was forced to Support Himself on the single nail that Impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could Not support himself with His legs because of the pain So He was forced to alternate between arching His Back then using his legs just to continue to Breath. Imagine the struggle, the pain, the Suffering, the courage.

Jesus endured this Reality for over 3 hours.

Yes, Over 3 hours! Can you imagine this kind of Suffering? A few minutes before He died, Jesus stopped bleeding. He was simply pouring water From his wounds.

From common images We see wounds to His hands and feet and even the spear wound To His side... But do we realize His wounds Were actually made in his body. A hammer Driving large nails through the wrist, the feet overlapped And an even large nail hammered through the arches, then a Roman guard piercing His side with a spear. But Before the nails and the spear Jesus was whipped and Beaten. The whipping was so severe that it tore the Flesh from His body.

The beating so horrific that His Face was torn and his beard ripped from His face. The Crown of thorns cut deeply into His scalp. Most men Would not have survived this torture.
"

He had no more blood To bleed out, only water poured from His Wounds. The human adult body contains about 3.5 liters (just less than a gallon) of blood.
Jesus poured all 3.5 Liters of his blood; He had three nails hammered into His Members; a crown of thorns on His head and, beyond That, a Roman soldier who stabbed a spear into His Chest..

All these without Mentioning the humiliation He suffered after carrying His own Cross for almost 2 kilometers, while the crowd spat in his Face and threw stones (the cross was almost 30 kg of weight, Only for its higher part, where His hands were Nailed).

Jesus had To endure this experience, to open the Gates of Heaven, So that you can have free Access to God.

So that your sins Could be "washed" away. All of them, with no exception! Don't ignore this situation.

JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR YOU!

He died for you! It Is easy to pass jokes or foolish photos by e-mail, but When it comes to God, sometimes you feel ashamed to forward To others because you are worried of what they may think About you.

God Has plans for you, show all your friends what He experienced To save you. Now think about this! May God bless your Life!

60 Seconds with God...
For the next 60 Seconds, set aside what you're doing and take This opportunity!

All you have to do Is:

1. Simply Pray for the person who post this message to You:
2.Then, copy and paste this Message to people.. The more the better.

3. People will Pray for you and you will make that many people pray to God For other people.
4. Take a Moment to appreciate the power of God in your life, for Doing what pleases Him.

If you are not Ashamed to do this, please, follow Jesus' instructions. He said (Matthew 10:32 & 33): "Everyone therefore Who acknowledges me before others, I also will acknowledge before My Father in heaven; but whosoever denies Me before others, I will deny before my Father in heaven."

Christianity Etc5 Positive Results For Obeying God’s Word by ADEWUMIMichael(op): 7:42am On Feb 19, 2017
Just like the psalmist, I am reminded that reading and obeying God’s word is a good thing. The Bible is unique because reading and obeying it can change a person.

The reason is because the Bible is supernatural. The Bible opens up the Holy Spirit to help change me. There are positive results when I allow God to use His Word to instruct and change who I am.

1.It helps me live life with joy and integrity (Psalm 119:1) When I obey God’s Word, I can live life positively. The reason is because God’s Word is both true and truthful
That means that with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Word convicts me of sin and when I obey it, then I am free of that sin. This helps me live life with you and integrity.
No one can blame me when I obey God’s Word.

2. It keeps me emotionally healthy (Psalm 119:2) Obeying the Bible leads to my happiness because reading it helps me seek God. When I seek God’s face and presence, it helps me have peace This leads to me being happy and healthy emotionally.

3. It helps me stay away from sin (Psalm 119:3) I can be emotionally healthy because the Bible helps me stay away from sin. When I obey God’s Word, it tells me which sins to avoid. It instructs me in such a way that I will want to stop sinning and continue seeking God.

4. It frees me from guilt and shame (Psalm 119:4-6) Guilt and shame are associated with sin. The reason is because I am disobeying God. When I obey the Bible, I will stop sinning. The guilt and shame associated with sin will go away. This is only possible because Jesus paid the sin debt. So obeying God’s Word is not exercise in futility. The sin has been paid, and the penalty will be avoided. I am free to obey God without the need to appease God. I obey God because I love Him and that makes me happy.

5. It leads me to praise and worship (Psalm 119:7-cool Because there is no penalty, I am free to praise and worship God. I am free to express my happiness to Him through praise. I am showing God that I love Him in worship. Positive praise and worship is a direct result of obeying God’s Word.

Prayer: God, thank You for Your Word. Thank you that by obeying Your Word, I can see positive results.

Christianity Etc5 Most Dangerous Consequences Of Disobeying GOD’S Word by ADEWUMIMichael(op): 7:31am On Feb 19, 2017
In our day and age, I have noticed, and please correct me if I am wrong, that some people including Christians do not take God’s commands or doctrines very seriously.

Some people think that when the new covenant, the covenant of grace, came into effect, God stopped caring about doctrine. Some feel that doctrine is insignificant in the new covenant, only serving and loving God’s people are what’s important today.

Brethren, I am a firm believer that serving and loving God’s people are important. However, obeying God’s commands and doctrines are very important as well. In fact, not only are we going to be judged on our service to others, but we will also be judged on how faithful we are in following the Word of God.

(1) According to ( Gal. 1:9 ), people who distort the Word of God will be eternally condemned.

(2) According to ( 2 Pet. 2:1-3; 3:16 ), people who distort the Word of God will bring upon themselves destruction.

(3) We must never intentionally distort the Word of God to satisfy our human and worldly beliefs. If we do, we are jeopardizing our souls.

(4) If we distort or disobey a commandment of God, we commit sin ( 1 Jn. 3:4 ). And you know, as well as I know that sin is a very serious offense.

(5) When God gives us a command, we need to do our very best to follow it. We need to start taking God’s commands more seriously. In the Bible, when people disobeyed God’s instructions, they were punished.
