I support your submittion. The price of cars in Cotonou are lesser and varying options to choose from. I can say this because I have experience it. Not too long ago, I asked one of the auto dealer on Nairaland for the price of a 1999/2000 model particular brand of car, the final price he gave was 1.6m. I saw the same model in an auto shop in Lagos and his final price was NGN1.15 with a whole lot of things to be fixed in the car. Finally, I took a trip to Cotonou with a friend who buys car from cotonu to Lagos, to my surprise the same model and year's landing cost of the car at my gate was NGN890,000 while the landing cost of the 2001 model and it's [color=Black]"toppest"[/color] range, all option, all accessories complete with the car's service log and manual, and very very clean was NGN979,000. I decided there and then to go for the latter, 3 days later the car was safely resting in my house.

The Cotonou adventure gave me the opportunity to see and see, and almost got confused. The major problem with buying cars in Cotonou is a honest fellow to deal with. Thank God I got one.

For Nigerian Road, i will advice to settle for a 2003 Camry, why?

1. Resale value is good.
2. Availability of parts and labour (Nigerians can fix Toyota better than Japanese sef)
3. Bigger and looks better.
4. Durable.

I agree with Fhemmmy, it is far better to buy the 2003 toyota camry (tokunbo car) than buy a glorified junk as a new car in the likes of Kia, Chevrolet, Geely, felicia, Octava and Hyundai. Don't be deceived

It is unfortunate that most people now go for tokunbo cars because of the high price of a new car. I will like to know how many years should a tokunbo car be used before disposing it off.

Lagos state is simple on a revenue drive for itself and giving the police another avenue to make money. Well trust Naija people, they will find a way out to beat the useless law. Lagos will be the final loser, what it takes to beat the law is for us to go to other state to get the car registered and licensed.

Se you get learner's permit? If you no get run quickly go get on because if VIO stop you and you no get like NGN7,500 dey go collect from you. Learner's permit is less than NGN500.

What type of country are we in? Bros, thank God for His mecies on you and most importantly that your boy was not touched by those "weird guys". It is not a good thing to experience in one's life time. My brother had the experience about three weeks ago, five guys came into the house, four of them were armed except for the lady in their midst, after collecting and they could lay their hands on, simply because he said mummy daddy are you Ok, one of those "HELL BOUNDs" weird guys, choked his gun and shot him at close range, but due to the infinite mercies of God, the bullet hit the frame of the door, reducing the bullet impact when it hit him, his right hand was almost chopped off. That he survived is just by the mercy of God.
