I got the one they sent last month but I've not got any mail about fee payment. When exactly did they send that one bro?
It reached on Friday, they're sending in batches though; not everyone has received this new set of emails yet. The mail stated a payment of €987.5 on/before 22-07.

Don't worry it's coming, since you got the nomination email, just go and find your bureau de change and get your euros ready.

Thanks for the information
Actually I have the money in my zenith bank account, can I visit their branch to help transfer the money into the blocked account at that day's exchange rate?

I don't know of any aboki that can help with such amount of money in euro
Naira account is quite different from domiciliary account. You need to visit your bank and ask them what a domiciliary account requires, and open one. I'm not sure you can have the bank transfer from your naira to your dom account but if that's possible I'm quite certain it'll be much more expensive than buying from an aboki, hence it's popularity. You don't have to know an aboki to patronize them, just find the nearest bureau DE change and negotiate with them or goto a GTbank branch most of them have a standby aboki or one they're affiliated to. The reason we take these abokis to the bank is because many of us aren't familiar with the euro currency, you don't wanna be scammed off such an amount.

Start the legwork now but let the AD come before you make these commitments.

Have you tried studierendenwerk Hamburg? You should have started the hunt before july bro. They sent mails to folks they're reserving spaces for last month and they've sent another for fee payment with deadline this month. See If you can still register with them first then extend your search.

Hallo laute..

I will like to know if it is advisable for one to fund the blocked account without having an appointment Date..
Also, how do I go about the funding if I want to make use of a bank and finally which bank is the best to make use of??

Danke..
Not advisable ma'am/Sir. You can fund your BA when you have your AD. I know of two methods;

1. Open a domiciliary euro account at your bank, meet with an aboki with the intent to buy the needed amount; take the aboki to your bank with the agreed euros. The bank verifies the authenticity of his euros, you transfer the naira equivalent to him and he pays this verified euros into your domiciliary account, give the bank written instructions to transfer from your Dom account to your blocked account. It should reflect in your blocked account in two to three days, print the confirmation and forward to the embassy (or take it with you for your interview as the case may be). GTB, Access bank, Zenith bank, first bank and sterling bank (these are the ones that I've seen people use) all offer this service at different costs.

2. If you have someone very trustworthy in Germany (family most preferred) and they have euros or know someone that has and are ready to exchange for naira.
Agree upon an exchange rate, send the naira to their Nigerian account and they'll forward the euros to your BA. Be 1000% sure they won't elope with your funds. Its easier and faster this way. But then, the risk is higher.

Do not fund until you're sure you have an AD and your AD should be at least three weeks before your enrollment deadline.

Good morning NLs. I have been seeing enrollment date. Please, is enrollment date the same date as start date we filled on the visa application page? Please I need explanation. Thanks
Sedatylo:
Start date is the begining of enrollment while enrollment deadline (i believe thats what people are calling enrollment date) is the end of enrollment.
There's enrollment date: that's the beginning of enrollment, its always on the AL for example: "students can enroll from sept 1 to Oct 1". Here, enrollment start date Is September 1, and enrollment deadline is October 1 when enrollment ends. Some schools do allow extension If need be, while others would state it (stone cold) that their deadline is rigid.

another acquaintance's recent interview

Transcript:
I got to the embassy 6:29 and my appointment printout letter was stamped ok and I went to sit down, during this process I'm waiting for Mr Paulinus but other black man surfaced and he was helping people arranging their documents, after this I was asked to go inside and sit down for the VO to call us in.
I am the third person to be interviewed by this young, happy, beautiful and black man at room 3.
I entered .

Me: good morning
VO: pick the telephone
Me: I picked
VO: pass me your docs
Me: I did.
VO: what program are you going for
Me: Bachelor in Electronic Engineering
VO:why the course?
Me: for continuity sake, haven't studied Electrical Engineering during my ND and HND, and have distinction in my coursework, I opt for the EE because it equip me with the basic knowledge both the practical and theoretical aspect so as to be better in my chosen field

at this point a white woman came in and the guy started using German and English code mixed to talk to her, and the guy said ma'am he had Distinction in HND and he feels I'm qualified for the CAT A I booked and the woman said if it's distinction he should go ahead and since its one of the good results.
Then back to interview again

Vo: who applied for you.
Me: myself through daad.de

Vo: are you married
Me: yea

Vo: with children
Me: yes and he can see the details on my application form

Vo: but I should brought the marriage and birth certificate

Me: I said I didn't bring and he said alright.

Vo: which campus are you going
Me: hamm, the VO quickly said to me I hope I know they have two campuses and I need to know the right one immediately I remembered that Dr Leozeez had once said the course is being taught in lippstadht and I said lippstadht and the VO asked me hope I'm sure because he does not want my application to be forwarded to a wrong place I said yes then he said ok.

VO: how's the program structures

Me: I have applied to student hostel in lippstadht and they have received my application but yet to give me the room.

Vo: why Germany?
Me: my research showed to me that Germany has the most technical education which can be obtained with little or no tuition fee, aside this it's safe for student to work freelyday and night bith in the city and the countryside without fear of being attacked. Furthermore, degree earned from this country is globally recognised.

VO: why not other English country
Me: at this point VP wants to intervene, I said Germany is the best among the country like Norway, Poland and Netherlands, the VO shouted and said I mean other country like U.S. which you have applied to, I quickly said, the tuition fee are much even with scholarships and since I can get a quality at no cost in Germany.

Vo: good

VO: Do you have relatives in Germany
Me: NO

Vo: who's sponsoring you
Me: I said my family, I said my father and my uncle...brother . Again VO said please relax which one do you want to say, I said my elder brother he now said ok .

Me: as soon I get aprroval

Vo: are you using BA or SL thrice
Me: I said BA because that's what I have. He immediately told me hope I know it's what he input that I must submit and everything has changed. I said I may yes he said because he doesn't want home office to have issue with me. I was now seeking for him to change the BA to SL but he declined and said he had imputed it.

Vo: plan after study?
Me: at the end of my program I shall come back to Nigeria to venture into private sector who lays emphasis on renewable energy production such as solar and wind energy and this will help small and medium sized businesses to thrive because of erratic power supply in Nigeria.

Vo: why not Nigeria
Me: the facility here is up to that of Germany .

Vo: how old are you
Me: x years old

Vo: Do you have friend in Germany
Me: yea,

Vo: his details

VO: Do you have question
Me : NO

Another acquaintance

I did my Interview today. This is the discussion between I and my VO. I booked category A even tho I’m going for BSC but she didn’t ask.
How old are you?
Why Germany and not UK or US. I answered that Germany is tuition free as they are top notch in Engineering
Why not Nigeria? Education system in Nigeria can not be compared to that of Germany and after haven gotten my first degree in Nigeria I want to go outside Nigeria and also for the exposure.
Why Electronic Engineering. I just repeated some of the things in my motivation letter by explaining the course and how I fell in love with the course after doing it in my first semester in sch. I did a 2 months training with LG and I learned about electronics and that also increased my passion for it.
Do you know someone in Germany? Yes. Who? What’s she doing there?
What’s your course? What school? Are you in contact with the school? I said yes I mailed them and they responded by sending me the list of the things I need to do before enrollment in the school (in truth, I have not mailed the sch since I got admission letter)
What do you know about Germany? I told her the things I know, I said things like Germany have over 300 types of bread, Germany have over 1000 types of sausages and she was like you must really like food and I laughed. Then she said go on and I said some more.
After signing all documents, she gave me my receipt and said go and find your BA. I said what I want to use SL. She said just go and do what you have to. She collected 3 passports from me.

Disclaimer: booking Cat A and going for another BSC is a risk, you could be sent home or interviewed.

. From a friend's experience today june 18

Got to the consulate at 5:40am and I met a security man, he asked me to come back 6:15am, which I did .... I was the first on the queue... Paulinus later came out at 6:50am and we we were ushered in, I didn’t have any issues with paulinus as He wasn’t even my fear...my real fear was that I booked cat A and I was going for bsc(although I have a previous bsc degree) after arrangement of our documents I was the first to go in....that was when my heart started doing GBIMGBIM. When I got in, my VO was the very much talked about low cut, gold dyed hair. I’m like God take control ‍♀

Me: deep sighhhhhhh

VO: what course are you going for
VO: any German knowledge?
VO: how have you been preparing?
VO: gave me some papers to sign, I also gave her my visa fee and she gave me a receipt

VO: Now I’m going to begin your interview proper
...please give me points, I don’t need stories
VO: name of your school?
VO: who applied for you?
VO: what course?
VO: why this course?
VO: why another bsc?
VO: have you funded?
VO: why did you choose Germany
VO: why not Nigeria
VO: why not English speaking countries
VO: what's your plan after your program
VO: you said you studied microbiology abi?
Me: Yes ma
VO: prints out biology test and says step aside and answer these questions within 5mins (10 questions)
VO: ok, we shall get back to you through email
Me: thank you

Biology test

Kindly share with us what he did to be proactive. I had my interview first week in April and I'm yet to receive the AM. My enrolment date is in October though.
Because of his fast approaching resumption deadline
He sent a mail to his alien office stating this, he got a feedback and forwarded the reply and alongside a status inquiry mail to the embassy, his AM dropped moments after.

Could be his proactiveness could be a coincidence. I can neither confirm nor deny that but its worth a try for fast approaching deadlines.

TravelRe: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 6 by Adhheir:
ruth1983:
So, please do not cancel your visa appointment request if you have booked in category B for category A UNLESS you have a SCHOLARSHIP. I am stating this from experience and AUTHORITATIVELY. That is all I can say and cannot say anymore. I REPEAT DO NOT CANCEL. Those that have ear let them hear. The lady with the instruction purportedly from the embassy is a receptionist moreso, don't you think of the fact that those who sowed the seed of cancellation might have booked their appointment late and started it to get people to cancel their stuff, so as to push their application forward ahead of those who booked before them?

I repeat those that have ear let them hear and no further comment from me.
I quoted your whole post because you probably work at the embassy with the way you said you'd see everyone you've quoted at their interview. Instead of doing this and waiting for people to be sent home why don't you please in all your benevolence; same one you came to post here with advising us to stay off A tell the embassy that their appointment booking categorizing instructions isn't clear enough. Its stated that we have to fulfill one of the criteria listed to book category A but 4 out of the 6 criteria can be attained without scholarships and yet everyone that fits onto the criteria has to tick that they do possess a scholarship. Is that fair enough?

And also, since its a faceless forum you could be anybody; you might have no single tie to the embassy and have just come to scare off everyone because you know how emotional people(Nigerians) get about travelling abroad and you decided to exploit their weaknesses. Category A folks have reasonable convictions to go that route so does Category B believers.

My advise, book a certification appointment, go with your documents as if you truly want to certify, it gets you through Paulinus. Ask questions at your certification about the category, maybe just maybe we'd get more clarifications. Shooting our opinions down here has proven to be detrimental than advantageous.

I should add, the lady at the call/help desk truly doesn't know what she talks about, I have a recorded conversation where someone going for another bsc (without fulfilling any of the languages criteria listed in A) was asked to book A by her (I mean isn't that obvious misinformation). Biko enough with the foul exchange of opinions, Its helped No-one.

Please it help to find it your self, cos there you will have more info. use Google to ask any question and you will get what you need

I checked Hamburg and i saw this small info below. you must have stayed at least 5 years b4 you can apply

Hamburg Welcome Portal
Permanent EC Residence
Similar to the settlement permit, the permanent EC residence title grants foreign nationals unlimited residence and the right to work in Germany. In addition, permanent EC residents enjoy freedom of mobility within and outside the European Union and may reside and work in most EU countries (except Great Britain, Ireland and Denmark).
