His supporters are exposed and highly educated Nigerians who have lived all over the world. You are the FOOL and the ILLITERATE. Bujari's N5000 for 25 million people is nothing new. Nigerians were getting it in the eighties. All southern students were on bursary when I was in university and northern state governments were paying people for going to school and university. Please use your brain, read wide and dont just reject something because it appears like something you have not seen before. Nigeria's actual GDP is close to $1 trillion and is lack of adequate taxation that is causing the fiscal problem. Jonathan and his government are not smart enough to convince us against social welfare programmes that are common place in the developed world and may actually be a fundamental right. The UN has minimum requirements for any human being on earth to have in terms of access to basic needs. Please don't even try to trivialise this. Buhari should make this promise at every campaign stop and go into contract with the Nigerian youth.

In any case the man Jonathan is so scared shirtless now, even he is ready to offer the same programme at N10000 for 25 million just to remain in power.
Politics › Re: Latest Oil Price: $44 per Barrel - Crisis Looming by Adminisher: 8:57am On Jan 06, 2015
You need to give this country to Buhari. Johnny no go fit handle Nigeria with $50 oil price. I have been reading his body language, the man is tired and the office is no more lucrative. Nothing to steal any more when senators and reps alone take $1.8 million each, the book haram war in the north is allowing the generals to steal over N10bn monthly, PDP members go chop, governors go chop, all the labour unions are coming up to ask for their own share. I think the man would pull on his bowler hat and run soon.

Our dwindling national wealth and growing population can't sustain socialist welfarism

Do the maths yourself

Now Nigeria earns at most #5tr every year

Divide 5 000 000 000 000naira ÷ 170 000 000 people =# 29,411 approximately #30k

Each person #30 000 per year or #2500 per month

Can you survive on that amount.
Nigeria does not earn N5trillion a year pleas. The figure is close to N18 trillion now and potentially N50 trillion if the right things are done. In the Excess Crude Acocount alone, Obasanjo left something like $30bn, unspent funds equalling N5trillion. Jonathan's gov t is lying, very corrupt and dangerous. LNG alone gives Nigeria $2bn a year. Crude theft is actually some powerful people stealing 400,000 barrels a day which is $7.8bn (N1.4 trillion). Tax revenues lost per year is probably (N2 trillion)

You guys should stop supporting these crabs it's just not feasible with the type of economy we currently have-monoecnomy.People are looking for ways to be empowered so as to use their skills which they acquired over the years to better their lives as well as contribute to the country's GDP apc and GMB are here promising to give us a plate of meal and #5000 as wefare package!smh
I think the N5000 is going to be for people learning a skill. I don't imagine the govt will subsidize laziness. Also no matter what you think, there is no Nigerian tribe that is not enterprising. The same aggressiveness that the Hausa man shoves his Kunu and Suya into your face is the same way an Ibo Man gets you to buy his goods. Nigerians don't wait for directions and are very competitive. So there s no chance the N5000 will breed a generation of laggards.

Also Nigeria's is not a mono product economy. Oil exports being 70% of all our exports does not make us mono product. We are the largest cement, cassava, Palm oil and ground nut producer in Africa. By 2016 we will be largest rice producer. Whether we export these commodities in large enough quantities to displace oil is besides the point. Oil has also been artificially priced due to politics and OPEC and we have earned a lot of forex from it but that does not make alone does not make us a mono cultural economy like most think.

even the so called capitalist economy made provisions for welfare package for the down trodden
which is a veritable too to arrest insecurity.
you cant guarantee a secured society by simply putting police officers in every corner of the streets, it can't achieve the desired result whe you have a lot of hungry people around, the police will get overwhelmed.

mind you no country in the world can guarantee a zero percent unemployment rate thus you have to make provisions for the unemployed to make the society safe
It is hard to recruit guys for Boko Haram insurgency with a scheme like this in place. Boko Haram reportedly pays higher but the risk is much much more. When a youth knows that his country cares he is less angry and radicalized-able. When people are moved from hopelessness they start to compete with their peers. The man who is sure of N5000 will start planning on how to improve himself to start making N50k and so on. Hopelessness is a birch.

The last time I checked 25,000,000 multiplied by 5,000 was 125,000,000,000 or 125 billion nAirA per month, convert to dollars and comE bAck with A more educated argumEnt, don't forget that oil prices are falling and opec is considering cutting back on production so assuming the money is or will be there is a fallacy
This is N1.5 trillion per year. This is chicken change. The GDP has been rebased to about $650billion even with the devaluation, the black economy in Nigeria is about $350billion. So Nigeria is actually a N180 trillion economy, if you just do a little more in agriculture and collect correct taxes you will achieve this. Even the current government has been thinking of the same thing and that is coming from Iweala herself. The problem is that as usual she has been afraid of what international creditors will say. You can also move a lot of the 'black economy' which is the informal sector more easily into the formal sector by doing this kind of thing. If you don't have a job, get registered and learn a trade then the government pays you and can plan for you. If you get married, you lose the benefits so we don't breed almajiris. If you get a job you automatically lose the the stipend. This will make employers more accountable. All this is commonplace in advanced economies and does not even generate arguments.

The government's N10 trillion a year budget does not even come close to what the whole country is spending or making. Diaspora funds coming from Nigerians broad alone is about $12billion which is about N2 trillion. Imagine that subsidy payments alone to fuel importers rose to N2 trillion recently and most of that was bad accounting.

Unfortunately, the PDPians on Nairaland are unable to see the reality on the ground. Their thought is that Buhari is only popular online, while they're popular offline. But most people who voted Jonathan, Ribadu and Shekarau because they didn't know who Buhari was then have since pitched tent with him. They should continue giving themselves false hope by requesting for Buhari's certificate, while Buhari continue seizing their strongholds!

My Prayer is that the Voters turnout in Kano should not be less than 90%. Jonathan would beg for 5% in Kano, but he won't get it. We wanna render him useless after the election!
There actually very few PDP supporters. There are significant Jonathan supporters who have not recovered from the grudge votes people gave Jona in 2011. They don't realize the man has exchanged love of the people for money.

This shows how much you know. The best and most productive economies pay a stipend to all unemployed people. No sane society lets its people go hungry. Go to the most efficient country in the world - Germany.
N5000.00 per unemployed will only stimulate the economy. It can be raised easily if people pay their correct taxes. It guarantees the constant demand for the Indomie noodles manufacturer, garri producers and pepper seller. If Buhari can do this and encourage agric and small scale manufacturing he will transform Nigeria in two years.

This is strange, very strange
A General's and former HOS's certificates were stolen (AKA RAIDED, CONFISCATED) many years ago and up till today he did not complain, did not take anyone to courting
This same general contested three times before. With what certificate did he contest?
The military should release to the public the academic record (different from certificates) of Buhari in their possession.
Babangida should take the bull by the horns and say what he knows, if any thing, about these things
INEC should tell Nigerians how Buhari was able to contest previously without these documents.
If INEC did not require the documents at former times, why are they requiring them now?
The INEC head who allowed Buhari to contest previous elections without his certificates should be fired and replaced immediately
And at this point I think APC should just drop Buhari and replace him with another northerner (El Rufai, Kwankwaso, etc)

Nigeria is just a banana country, I swear.
What certificate does a former head of state need to contest?. This is just a losing man' s desperation on the part of Jonathan and his party. The man who probably knows where the documents are is IBB. Maybe they should ask him.If I were Buhari I wouldn' t even bother to swear to an affidavit. The matter is too ridiculous.

One person who does not believe this is Good luck Jonathan. He is running from pillar to post, claiming other people's dad, blaming advisers for 'contradictory' advice and so on. The north is preparing to repay the favour of his broken promise not to contest second term, the SW is ready to repay the favour of corruption and the SE is expecting a disaster and waiting for it in panic to happen. It is too late now to do anything.

People saying Buhari is a tribalist are doing it out of PANIC. Please extend them sympathy instead of condemnation. They have hitched on a falling star, JONATHAN and have seen him falling down disgracefully so they are lashing out with everything. When you see these things know that the end is near.

We have crude lifting contracts for Anyiam Osigwe, commendations for Akunyili, promotion and utmost respect for the intellect of Tam David West..I have many examples of this man's impartiality in the Nigerian Army and NNPC.

The chickens are home to roost for Jonathan, only 9 states are now for him but he had 11 states a few weeks ago.
Buhari is now sure of 27 states up from 25 states before. Please watch your polls and pull up your map close. Half of PDP is now voting Buhari during presidential elections.

GEJ till Buhari passes his GCE!
Too many teenage Ibo trollers on Nairaland. I have just posted something that when Bubari was in school in northern nigeria, there was no certificate forgery. The British were running Nigeria and in any case western education was not so important to northerners. Forgery started in the south east when your parents were in school. Not many people in the north were educated or even saw the importance of western education so they had only the very high quality people in schools. Nobody forges certificates in the north like the east.

Desmond does not share money. He is highly creative and has more between the ears than the charlatans and prostitutes you see in the picture. By the way every mediocre naira spray from the fumbling Jonathan to Nollywood has caused serious crisis. A lot of people are complaining that the sharing formula has been wrong, the wrong film projects a're being financed and just too much politics. Why the Jonathan presidency prefers money spray to sitting down and thinking may all be down to the low IQ of the President and the court jesters he keeps around.
