Jonathan simply has to go. Many thieves have latched on to one part of the economy or the other and they are unwilling to let go.
Over the years, I have read many things on nairaland. Remember the director in a federal ministry whose daughters were kidnapped? That man apparently can send his children to study overseas,on a civil servant salary. The man is either stealing or not spending most of his time on the government business he is paid to do.
There are thousands of people like this in Nigeria. This is before we talk about the big thieves.
Half of the PDP is holding a grudge against the president. The party was turned into the Jonathan reelection party mid year at the expense of other stakeholders and there is just not enough money to settle everyone. Also Fayose:s win in Ekitti has shaken APC out of their revelry in the SW and they have been a little lucky that all Jonathan has are the tqinted materials of Omisore, Fayose and Daniel. The east is where Jonathan' strength is but the votes are just not enough. I dont believe all the hype about 40% of.N Central being for Jonathan, he has actually failed at defending the region from herdsmen, boko haram and his governors have almost been worse than the Abia State governors and are all a little tired like Gov Jang

I knew the army will never play politics with military tradition and hide the papers or lie about it. Trouble no good at allllll
. ""Buhari does not have certificates.." "Buhari this, Buhari that" and all these because of a bloody civilian called Jonathan. What happens when Buhari becomes CIC in February?. .Will all Army Council members run and hide in the bush?.

Sorry to say,you have not mentioned any company in particular and it shows the level of misinformation that goes on in the politics section of nairaland.

In the last two years or so,there has been no new entrant into the Nigerian gsm market. So which of them are you referring to?
Do you really know whats $1b ? .
The $1b was for example. It makes.no difference to the lucrativeness of the nigerian market if the figure were just $50million. Companies are recouping.their investments within one year. The point is that trillions of tax revenues.are being lost which can be used for poverty alleviation that will stimulate the demand for the products of the same companies. If the middle class vanishes in Nigeria, Dangote will go bankrupt because there wont be anybody building housed.

People bandy figures without evidence. Can you be specific on the company/companies that invested $1b and are reaping $1.5b p/a?. What exactly wrong with the tax code as presently constituted?.

I would like a pure economic answer and not hearsay or assumptions.
GSM companies
South African Mall developers
Newly privatised govt entities
Petrochemical company buyers
Many medium scale Chinese businesses break even in six months
All new major FDI entities break even in first year.
Some of them dont even bring in the FDI, they borrow the money here and whatever the intetest rate pass the cost to consumers
All oil companies cheat UNBELIEVEABLY, the amounts involved are staggering and usually happen with new projects Nigeria is contributing 55%, 60% o 70% to.
NAFCON now NOTORE was sold at twenty percent of its value and they broke even before starting.business, please check their profits every.year and if you have a clever acvountant, look for the hidden profits.
N5000 for 2.5 million people is nothing compared with the money floating around.

This is exactly what I've been talking about all the while, but the 9 other candidates are not going anywhere; they themselves know it, my resolution is this, when you're presented with two evils, go for the lesser evil.
APC guys are saying there is only one evil, Jonathan and PDP supporters are saying Jonathan and Buhari are evil but one is the lesser one. So quite obviously, PDP has lost the argument. I think there is a lot of trickery.involved in trying to manage the tainted Jonathan presidency. The candidate himself is confused because all his advisers tell him is that he is the.best. He reads the papers and sees the C word attached to his name and wonders what is happening. It is a pathetic situation generals are lying about the war, minister of power is lying about power, yoruba politicians aligned to PDP are saying bring 10billion naira we will deliver the region to you and madam is annointing candidates as she sees fit. Cluelessness is not bliss obviously.

Further cluelessness of Buhari

" We shall give 25million very poor at least #5000 each every month."

OP

This will amount to #1.5tr in a year
GMB did not tell us where he will get the money from.
Are you kidding me?. Fuel subsidy stolen money is at least.2.5trillion, uncollected revenue from multinationals and big cimpanies is about 2 trillion , oil companies are cheating Nigeria to the tune of more than 5trillion every year. It is you that is unexposed. They have bought you and sold you finish. Do you know there are companies who invest $1bn into nigeria and make $1.5bn out of nigeria every year? anybody with half a brain knows when that happens there is something wrong with the tax code. Buhari will never allow it to be said that nigerians live on less than $2 a day. You pay N5000 to 2.5 million people, they buy more indomie, cement, cassava and stimulate local denand and boost GDP. The social security system is the best support for business owning rich men in any country. It is you who does not know your economics.
In any case Jonathan channelled 350bn to millitants every year for 4 years and he found the money
Politics › Re: GEJ and GMB...a neutral opinion by Adminisher: 4:02pm On Jan 03, 2015
What clue has Jonathan ever had about the economy?. The man never even saw his own budget, was afraid to read it and i am sure he does not know the figures. All Jonathan interviews on media chats are mediocre affairs with poor english and displays of ignorance of even o level economics. Please go on you tube watch them again and report back You think Obj is entirely wrong in all that he called GEJ?

Buhari should have channeled all the bitterness and energy to improving lives of most almajiris in the north since poverty and hunger is more rampant but for wher, he chose to channel it to politics knowing fully that no Nigerian will vote for him.
Gej till buhari goes to school.
I am sure you are from the East. Only an easterner argues in a selfish blinkered fashion like you have done. Buhari was.not the only one embittered by the rigging. Rigging disenfranchises people and unleashes dangerous social forces. Let APC win in 2015 then using federal might rig in 2019 and win against APGA in Anambra, Enugu and Abia state, let them also deploy soldiers and police during the elections in those states...let that happen and watch and see a new kind of ogbunigwe and shore batteries we have never seen before. Personally anybody stealing my vote is taking a great risk with his life...my money is very easy, i may even freely give it. But my God and vote, you have to try harder.
I also have issues with the way you said channel bitterness about being rigged against into education and ejancipation of his un educated, people ..or something of the sort. Well this is a former Head of State ahd this is a tribe that has rulled Nigeria from inception to 1999 so we can be proud and arrogant about a SS guy being in power .but let us not.deceive ourselves and pretend that it was not they who voluntarly allowed Obj to run and it was not Obj who carried Jinathan on his back to the presidency. If you think Jonathan was too wrong in.ltoo much.
Politics › Re: GEJ and GMB...a neutral opinion by Adminisher: 3:32pm On Jan 03, 2015
The two candidates have poor records of writing books, they have also not run businesses before so that is a minus. However Buhari was in the army when army was army. Jinathan is lacking in any kind of executive ability whatsoever which is highly visible in open avoidance of responsibility. Let us remember that this was a mediocre middle rank civil servant at best until Alams picked him up purely on internal Bayelsa quota system/ethnic balancing. He was never even amongst the thirty most influential people in Bayelsa during Alams time. So all attemps to credit him with qualities we know he never had will always fail

I agree with you. Lagos and Sokoto are safe heavens for Buhari so are Rivers and Lagos for GEJ.
Lagos: PDP has a good chance for governorship in Lagos based on my new research on sentiments on the street but they will lose Presidential. Even governorship is not all that sure for PDP, the state has many employees in LAWMA LASTMA and Parks and Gardens and so on who have PVCs and have collected for their relatives that is a very high number of sure votes. Then Tinubu planted his daughter in market womens assoviation and nobody sponsored a court case to challenge that. Anyway market women are 2 million votes.
Retirees, pensioneers Awoists and other 65/70year olds who have had a lot of time to collect PVCs. Aside from all these Tinubu political genius stuff, Lagos is like no other state, there are many Ibos for Buhari, Yorubas ready to die for Jonathan, Akwa Ibom people who love GEJ even more than Ibos. Lots of christians but also many Muslim Yorubas that APC has positioned itself properly across with Fashola, Osinbajo and Buhari. Buhari's strength in Lagos was from the 1980s and there is little anybody can do about it. Another northern politician who would make waves here is Marwa.
he corruption perception might win it for Buhari
Politics › Re: Swing States For The Election 2015 by Adminisher: 2:11pm On Jan 03, 2015
Sokoto and Kano are not swing states for the Presidential elections. They are Buhari states. Many PDP members will vote Buhari there.
Rivers is an APC state for Governorship but for.Presidential elections Jonathan may win narrowly in Rivers.

If care is not taken, with the way APC is going with their hate-filled propaganda, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan may just be Nigeria's last President. The 21 observations I made back then in 2012 are still relevant!
Nigeria is not breaking up. The problem you guys have is looking at the Nigerian construct as a Nation. It is not and has never been. It is an artificial construct of many nations and empires. And you know the funny thing?. There is nothing wrong with the design of it in any way. The operation of it requires some improvement and more importantly a more rigorous way of weeding out the inferior, corrupt and clueless who always rise up to lead the country but f that is done things will be okay and you will begin to realise that is is actually a sophisticated creation and is better than many on going and successful countries.

Trying to break Nigeria up is going to cause more wahala than good. Many people sound intelligent and very smart when they talk about Nigeria breaking up then become really dumb when they get quantitative about it.
"Nigeria will break into North and South" for instance indicates that is a Christian talking and he is putting on religious blinkers. Who told them the Itsekiri wants to share a nation with Ijaw or most south south tribes want to be with Igbos?. "Nigeria should break up into North, East and West" is an Ibo Man speaking out his frustrations about being denied leadership of the collective entity. "Nigeria should break up into ethnic nationalities with full resource fontrol" is an Ijaw man speaking out his frustrations about subsidizing a tribe that has resourced the leadership f the country since independence without allowing other nationalities who produce the wealth access to same.

The most acceptable to me is the Ijaw man's view but it should not be a breakup but a renegotiation of federal statutes whereby all regions control their resources 100% and pay an INTEGRATION TAX, DEFENCE & SECIURITUY TAX, ARBITRATION TAX and LITTORAL DEFENCE & ADMINISTRATION TAX.
All efforts should be made to continue the undeclared inter regional competition that used to exist before independence so that the entire country grow really fast.

Untidy breakup of Nigeria will lead to 're- colonization and it won't be the queen this time, it will be global corporations buying people and their resources and managing them from board rooms in Europe, US and China. Half of those working for the breakup of this country are being pushed by these evil corporations, even those who call themselves ijaw freedom fighters but don't have an investment in Nigeria.

Another true but very painful fact, there is no winner or loser. The south easterner looking for revenge against the north is deceiving himself and the south westerners still angry about June 12 can continue on the path of self destruction. The past is very dead and should remain so.
Jokes Etc › Re: Breaking News! Buhari O'level Result Out!! by Adminisher: 11:03am On Jan 03, 2015
This is a serious display of lack of intelligence by the OP. The OP is obviously a product of Nigeria's mediocre educational system. Half of the people discussing Buhari and Jonathan don't know much because they grew up either during IBB or Abacha regimes which is very sad. So much was stolen from their parents and by extension themselves then and they don't realize this.

Now to this fake certificate. In order to forge something, elementary thinking suggests you have to do a historical review.
In Buhari' s day were they taking WAEC examinations?. Was it GCE or a British certification. if it was GCE, how we're the result statements and certificates designed?. Who would be signing them?

These are the things you need to settle before starting your forgery. Also if you are going to call a man who studied in the fifties an illiterate, talk to your parents and grand parents first. Ask them how education was then compared to now. Go to you tube an download speeches and interviews with Nigeria's first prime minister Tafawa Balewa who had only teacher training certification then lock yourself up in your room and ponder your wasted for and stolen future.

Nigeria can never be split.
The North is just senseless. They are acting the play written down for them by The Creator Himself.
The South West, God bless them.
Tunubu is not a Yoruba leader.
The South East don't own Goodluck. "Ole buruku ni e", meaning, You are a bloody Thief. Goodluck is not Igbo. He is now a Nigerian. Only madam Peace is Igbo and you can take her, so we can give GEJ a Yoruba and a Fulani first wives, prepared for his second coming. Okonjo Iweala is Southsouth. Her hubby is Igbo. You can take him and we will make NOI VP to SDM in 2019. Maduekwe will sit on nothing. She is Igbo. We shall send her back to Southeast. Just keep praying for Nigeria Unity and for GEJ.
There will be no need to fight anymore. No. Then inter-tribal wars of the 22nd century would have just begun!!!!
I am very sad to find that GEJ is the center of the universe for you and other like you. I think the problem now is not tribalism it is a vision thing. You guys don't know better and can't see much because you are locked in your restricted alternate universe. Even amongst Southern politicians, GEJ is not in the second hundred and he himself knows it. He crashed into presidency and has suddenly become your god. Well you can keep it up.
Nigeria has decided to move from simpleton Cluelessness to national glory. We need a president not a joke amongst other world leaders, we need a backbone and some integrity not shifty decision making and a fake smile. Most important of all we have decided to stop people begging to go into office only to start stealing when they get there. The presidency is not for poverty minded people, it s for honour able people. This man you have been praising so much could not have won PDP primaries for governorship before he got quadruple promotion to VIce-president then to President. We will not blame God for manifesting he destiny for his life but we are also not too stupid to realize that the good luck has expired. GMB for President 2015 - 2019'.

Jonathan will not get less than 50% of cast votes from South West. He will get at least 35% of votes in the North West and North East while the North Central will give Jonathan at least 60% of the votes.

The Chibok Girls issue is unfortunate. However, all Nigerians should unite in condemning and combating terrorism. Trying to make political capital from the debacle is not smart if you ask me.
So you have already started voting for SW people. Why don't you people see Jonathan as people really see him?. Where are the 50% votes from the SW coming from. Any way you can quote figures as you like but the socio psychological explanation for what is happening is CHANGE. Jonathan has performed badly as President but that is not why he is being voted out. He is being voted out because Nigerians need CHANGE. He would have been voted out even if he had performed better. It is unfortunate but that is the truth. Things come to an end and Jona has had his day.

Politics › Re: Five Things GEJ Should Do To Win The Presidentail Election by Adminisher: 2:58pm On Jan 02, 2015
OP you just want to kill this man.

- Be an Orator.
Na small beans?. Dem day share oratory for market?. Abeg Yyu either have it or not. Jona does not have it.

- Roll out your achievements. These has been overdone as we speak. They started too early and it is all getting drab and boring. Also January is going to be a long, hard, hungry month and I don't know whether anybody will be enjoying TAN and Okupe' s adverts when school fees have to be paid.

-Intiate a debate.
You are a very wicked man. You really want to kill our president. Debate what exactly;
Chibok girls,$10bn missing, National debt increase, N21bn donation, Army retreating from Boko Haram, N2.7trillion loan proposals..et.c?. If there is such a debate today, all the opponent has to do is say some wild things on national TV and have the President grasping for words that won't be controversial and then people will say he lost the debate. Alternatively the man plays it less carefully and says something they will use to finish him during the vote. Please remember every harmless remark he makes in church recently has gotten him into trouble.

- Expose some opposition governors.
This is perhaps the only thing that can work but I suspect it is not for lack of trying. To go on this road you have to do forensics on your own actions and that of governors like Akpabio, Jang, Orji and Ministers like Wike, Dieziani et.c. There are rumours APC has a lot of damaging into already so maybe this is not a go area.
