The irony of this all is that the Northerners are allowed to mine their minerals themselves, make as much money as they like without paying a dime to the Federal purse and at the same time, getting regular monthly allocation from Niger Delta crude proceeds while the Niger deltans do not even have access to the oil in their back yard.
The actual irony is that Ibos and Yorubas are alsp mining here without disturbance.

His actions during the 2011 elections were zero. He merely complained and ominously warned about the consequences of rigging. Most people have cindemned his words but have a passive.acceptance of rigging. Rigging is worse than armed robbery and it is not new to.Nigeria. It caused all the military interventions in our democracy. Many people forget that SW Nigeria has been on fire twice, once in the sixties and later during the Shqgari regime and.that.particular elections was worse than Boko Haram war in both cases the military took over power shortly after. Personally if someone rigs in jy ward i will throw dynamite at the INEC.office.

I think people are missing alot in this case.President Jonathan has alienated the Yoruba in his government under the captain Okonjo Iweala who believed that Igbo has the best and only professionals that can run the economy yet they are leading the country into obvious destruction.Obasanjo, a Yoruba man, like him or hate him, never did that.
I don't know who will lead GEJ campaign in the southwest may be a new face in Agbaje,a controversial Fayose whose popularity is within Ekiti borders or Mimiko whose popularity has waned since moving into PDP.
Compare that to Fashola leading a campaign with stories of achievements to tell, Aregbesola, Amosun, Ajumobi, they will simply refer to what they have done.
Let me tell you, even though Fayemi was voted out in Ekiti, the civil service conspiracy won't work for Jonathan because there is nothing the government of GEJ had done in the southwest that will form the basis of his campaign.
it is God that give power, but from the look of things, I don't think GEJ will win 40%vote in the southwest and you can't blame the people whose ethnic group form the single largest in sub Sahara Africa to be alienated and abused by hired persons and be expected to return the same man.
I pity youths leaning on religion to determine who becomes a President, a true Christian won't permit corruption or impunity because God is light.
The North, may be with exception of Benue and Plateau will likely go with GMB, FCT is shared and may be up to 60% of SW will also vote for him.Buhari may not be the better administrator at this time, but is there an alternative to the current government for Nigerians? its Buhari as things look.
I will both GEJ and GMB best of luck but more so Nigerians in this new year.
Is it Jonathan that is a good administrator?. Jonathan is the worst president in history, the only positive quality he has is the ability to give a free hand to people (ministers) to do their work but sometimes a little responsibility helps a lot. I am sure if you asked him now, Jonathan does not know the total capital expenditure in his own budget and how much borrowing we propose to do next year to fund the deficit, Somebody like Obj would tell you that to the last Kobo and also throw in annoyingly some insinuations that he is the only one who knows what he is doing in government and everybody is a thief and clueless... at least you get the impression that someone is at the steering of the country.

This is a bad President. A very bad PRESIDENT.

The guy is really CLUELESS. Even what he has said is LYING against PDP, his own party. We used to have development plans in the 70s and 80s until western economists convinced IBB that economic planning was a misnomer and market forces should be used to determine everything and things would evolve naturally, the idiot "Father of Good luck Jonathan" agreed with that and in conjunction with Kalu Idika Kalu, Falae and Okongwu they ran Nigeria to the ground.

Why I am saying Jonathan is a dunce and is lying against is party is because the Military gov't of Abdusalami and later the PDP had Vision 20:20 plan as a visioning product and a roadmap for development from which five year plans and annual plans were to be derived.
Also Obasanjo and Iweala did a lot of work on developing the Millennium Development Goals MDG document which every government was going to be working towards. If Jonathan has detracted from that plan or he has cancelled the road map he should tell us instead of saying he has been managing Nigeria on emergency basis which merely confirms that he deserves no vote from any sane person

Thank you for admitting that CHANGE is required and Jonathan has to go. Now in the absence of any other alternatives, we should all admit that Buhari fits the bill. He has governed the country before without any persecution of Christians and southerners. He has run foe civilian president some times since with south easterners and south westerners as is running mates. He was close to Tam David West his minister of petroleum whom IBB set up unfairly out of fear.
I have serious fears about the fate of this country with the dullard of an incumbent we have now. His government has overplayed its hand on a number of issues and chickens have come home to roost. The treasury is almost empty, please believe that, I shit you not. There are no crude oil cargoes for sale in January. So we have hit the new year with deficit. They have privatised all government entities to their friends but are not collecting taxes so that is another revenue stream blocked. We have $39billuon in debt and s revenue profile of 80% recurrent so we are not investing our way out of the problem. Big slugs of shit have hit very big fans and scary videos based on falsehood should be done away with as we contemplate our future.

Actually you are right. The refineries are not the Presidents's primary responsibility. His responsibilities are defence, security, unifying the country, symbolising our collective sovereignty and projecting Nigeria's strength and power. In these responsibilities, he himself has admitted that he has FAILED. So I dont really know how his supporters are able to sleep at night. Railways, airports and day to day mangement of the economy are also not his responsibility but supporters give him credit for a few of the modest (pedestrian) achievements recorded there but are alsways quick to say refineries are not his responsibility. I have even heard one guy saying, that only army Generals should be held responsible for all the failures against BokoHaram and not the President. Almost every attempt to defend Jonathan has always had an element related to either the demotion of his office or a subtle unwitting insult on his personality.

Story for the gods
What is story for the gods here?. We are not selling crude oil and the refineries that we have on ground to process them are not working.

So we are importing out of our scarce resources a product that we should be manufacturing to reduce spending the money we are currently spending to import the same finished products in a context where proceeds from the raw material we were exporting was mainly used to buy that same finished product that we are now importing but should have been exporting.

If all the above seems confusing to you, just put a man like Jonathan at the head of any family, business, local governments, state or country and everything will confuse you.

This is one reason Nigeria is still a member of OIC. It gives them a leeway to obtain loans from Int'l Islamic banks. I guess by the mood everywhere you mean the mood in Lagos, other southwest states and online.

I've always said the North would be the deciding factor here. The number of Votes GEJ would win in the South east ans South south will be more than the number of votes he'd lose in the south west.

Don't think the north is one dimensional. The North is divided into three. There's the core (Hausa) north. There's the north that hates been associated with anything Hausa as they see themselves as being marginalised greatly by the hausas, there's a Christian north that (unfortunately) are not enlightened enough to put aside religious sentiments. The northern votes wouldn't go massively for GMB, you'd be suprised at the number of votes GEJ would pull out of the north.

No where in the world has elections been won online. I remember when George Bush was going for second term, 80% of americans voted him out online, but in real life he won the election. The internet is filled with so many people who are not even registered voters, and most of the comments you read online are still from the Lagos people. APC is winning the online polls, but PDP is going into rural areas where the people don't even know GMB or GEJ, sensitizing the people on how to vote, and giving them rice at the end of the day, those people would vote for PDP. Both parties have adopted different strategies, but if you ask me, PDP's strategy would yield more results at the polls because that's where it matters. Elections are won in the field not online.
The marginalization you are talking about is phantom. There is xtian Muslim dynamic in the north that a Jonathan Presidency can never ameliorate. Note that the so called agreement between northern PDP governors and Jonathan was that the Presidency goes back to the north not necessarily to a Christian. Tribalism trumps religion because the last few years were actually the only time there has been a religious divide in the north so there has been a century of religious tolerance and in that time we had a Christian Gowon rulling for more than eight years, Danjuma almost No. 2 man Iyorchia Aug, Shahu, Unongo, Pam and all sorts of prominent Christians being thrown up. Also all Christian opinion makers in the north are practically all retired generals and Buhari has some good rep. with this people. A lot of people are actually accessing the Jonathan presidency unfairly of engineering most of the religious tension and so called Fulani attacks in conjunction with some foreign intelligence agencies to break the monolithic nature of the north. Whether true or not the story is already out there.

People lying to themselves everyday and posting it on social media.
Jonathan is going to win in areas where everyone knows he won't get up to 15 per cent....yeah right.

I look at the electoral map everyday and the breakdown is as follows:

Buhari - 24 States including Kano and Lagos with 75% of total votes.
Jonathan - 11 States with 22.5 % of total votes cast.

SDP and APGA to spring some surprises in one or two states.

All northern states including North Central are going to Buhari with a good margin
SW is for Buhari.
SS is Buhari Jonathan 30 - 70.
SE is for Jonathan.

Jonathan is going to be the first incumbent president to lose elections and handover peacefully to his successor.

Stop trying to be over smart jare. in 2015, we have two choices between us: it's either Buhari or Jonathan. Jonathan defiantly does not represent any change.
There are already signs that corruption will only get worst if he is reelected.

Just two days after PDP's fundraising dinner, in which Tunde Ayeni donated 2 billion naira, and power sector donated 50p million, approval was given for the increase in PHCN tariff. I'm even hearing the controversial service charge of N750 which you pay whether you have light or not will be increased to N1000. Meanwhile PHCN has refused to supply the populace Prepaid Meters and the government refuse to compel them to do so.

Nigerians will be their own worst enemies if they vote in this wicked government. Jonathan is wicked. The fact that he smiles all the time and behaves gently does not make him good. He does not have the interest of Nigerians at heart, only that of his corrupt friends.
Why educated people will continue to deceive themselves supporting the indefensible beats me. It has gotten so bad now that I am sure the Jonathan presidency does not care anymore whatever they do. They know they can get away with murder now because of mass programming of even the most intelligent of the SE and SS voters. They also believe that since they survived the disastrous Chibok girls crisis and Sanussi' s accusations then nothing worse could happen and their base stays with them. The only mis calculations involve the undecided voters. I am sure that intellect is so lacking in the people around GEJ that they will trip themselves badly again be fore elections.

Speak to people on the streets of Lagos and you will find that it is actually possible.
The problem areas are Lekki axis, Ikorodu and the large number of Ibo people who are not too enamoured of Fashola.

The Federal election result prediction is even more possible than a PDP win for Lagos.

I keep looking at the map and the states and it is a NO GO for Jonathan. In order to deal with internal party opposition to a GEJ presidency they have destroyed the fabric of the party. Plenty confusion regarding governorship candidates and senatorial candidates and all that dynamic. There is no money anywhere so no guarantees that patronage dispensers will keep promises.

This fact will de motivate northern governors from opposing the Buhari forces arrayed against them coupled with the fact that they are under subtle physical threats. So almost certainly all, states in the North including major parts of North Central for Buhari.
South West is for a Buhari presidency even more than they are even for APC as a party but many political neophytes may not understand this subtle fact. Jonathan does not connect with the man on the street in core SW as he does in SE. He has not positioned himself properly and has a lot of tainted people in his camp. The only solid people he has on his side are the Akinjides and some old smouldering fires in Ogun and Osun States.

Previous rulers from the Northern part of Nigeria, looted and mismanaged resources, yes, HISTORY MUST be told. Before Jonathan assumed office, what was the condition of all the refineries in Nigeria? Hausa Generals MISMANAGED the refineries and everything in the oil and gas sector. Refineries weren't functioning, and was used to siphon public funds every time ( TURN AROUND MAINTENANCE ). Strangely, Nigeria, became an importer of refined petroleum products long before Jonathan came on board. #Shame

Northern muslims REJECTED anything true federalism or resource control. If the north, ain't obsessed about the free money (OIL) from the Southern part of Nigeria, they would have developed their on resources and be self reliant. If oil producing states were allowed to control their resources, those oil producing states would have suffered the CONSEQUENCES of oil dependency alone( OIL BUST). As expected, North Dakota, Texas and other oil producing states are feeling the HEAT of falling oil prices alone, none oil producing states/ USA Government are going about their businesses, thanks to TRUE FEDERALISM. NIGERIA MUST BE RESTRUCTURED. It doesn't matter who wins the president, only true federalism can bring CHANGE.

I have said it here over and over, again, I'll repeat it on your page, Segun, Northern muslims are the BIGGEST problem in that country. Northern Nigeria, is the KILLING field of africa. From pre-independence till date, rioting, killing christians/southerners and violence, are the recurring headlines coming from that region ( wretched of the earth). Buhari, said, "dog and baboons will soak in blood" consequently, when he lost the 2011 election, Buhari's supporters went on rampage and kill hundreds of innocent people.
These are excuses made to defend a coward president who should not be running a family not to talk of a country. Northern Muslims are the problem. Okay let us have a northern Muslim to solve the problem.
Abe Lincoln also had the great Slavery problem but he solved it. The same man had the civil war problem and solved it.
Gowon at thirty two had the civil war problem and solved it. In 1970, Nigeria had so re integrated my parents second landlord in Lagos was an Ibo man. Let us never send a BOY on a MAN's job. Donald Duke, Saraki, and even the corrupt Odilli and Ibori would have done better than this local NDDC man that Obasanjo gave us as VP, who later became President. Nigerian Heads of State have been managing the north effectively for years. The British did it, Azikiwe did it as ceremonial president, Gowon did it, Obasanjo did it..why can't Jona do it?. Because he is clueless and he is in the pocket of people from the SE/SW with accomplices in the SW who want their own turn at stealing. Are you bleeping kidding me?. I am from the south west but I am starting two small machine shops for contract manufacture and maintenance fabrication this year. I have also invested heavily in plastics in the recent past. The oil money has never trickled down to majority of Nigerian anyway and nobody is depending on it.. There are numerous initiatives on bio fuels and agro allied stuff that my friends are doing in the west not to talk of ICT and services. Who will depend on oil and gas when my grandfather trained my dad on cocoa money....i dey craze?

As for the North everybody knows that 85% of the people there don't see the oil money and don't give a shit. There comes a time when the truth comes out and it is clear the oil market was operating on artificially inflated prices at +$100 a barrel. In any case the international hit men managed to plant Ngozi Iweala on the hapless Jonathan and all the oil money has gone back into European and US banks.
