I wonder what you guys are celebrating about this woman.

You will never see her raising her voice or influence to condem all these useless oppressors of the masses ruling us.

She is world class and she is Nigerian, and it's not out of place for Nigerians to celebrate her in a big way.

I myself when I went to Birmigham in 2016, I saw a bill board of her in one advert, maybe they were advertizing a book. She is not small oo, she is well known and respected world wide.

Chimamanda is a truly talented
& blessed Nigerian..

She has surely dined with presidents
& kings..

Some parts of Nigerians won't
be happy with this recognition.

Kudos.

You are unbelievable. I am disappointed. If I knew you in person, I would have told you same to your face.

Why would some parts of Nigeria be unhappy? What's the correlation? Is everything OK?

Geez

Miracle centre, for 9A1's? Loool.

Has Naija education become that bad?

They won't celebrate this one now but if it's some people having sex live on TV under the guise of bbn ,we know what the winner will go home with

Why would they celebrate it if it does not directly contribute to their bottom line? Celebration or scholarship for academic excellence is not a must...They don't owe anybody.

That said, I do agree that academic excellence be celebrated. I personally give 100K as a gift to anyone that scores straight A's. It's hard.

Guinness Book of records for 9 As in WAEC?? She tried but I bet you if they gave the syllabus to Chinese teenagers to study and gave them the same exams, at least 65% of them will get all As. WAEC exams is child's play compared to exams teenagers in other parts of the world sit 4...... angry

I don't agree with you on WAEC being child's play. And I say this as someone who has taught WAEC syllabus in Nigeria and foreign syllabus abroad. You can't say WAEC is a child's play. There is no evidence to support your theory.

A top student in WAEC will do well in other exams. Again, for years, I have seen, worked and studied with the Asians, Europeans and Americans and others you are talking about. Yes, they are solidly solid. However, a truly top Naija student will do well on their exams, no bigee. There are many examples.

Congrats to this 16 year old girls. One of my future plans is to do a television interview with these outstanding kids and question them on their study and preparation methods to help the other students coming from behind.

NICE GESTURE BRO!

BUT THE HONEST TRUTH IS - HE DOESN'T NEED IT. HE IS FROM A GENERATION OF BILLIONAIRES - IN DOLLARS - NOT IN NAIRA.

No, you are wrong. He doesn't need to need it to be appreciated for his exceptionalism.

Where I live, there are world acclaimed billionaires. Read "world", but some of their children still "accept" scholarships and other performance-related recognition...

You don't have to be poor to be rewarded for your outstanding performance. That's why Iniesta still got performance bonus from the Spanish national team even though his yearly salary at Barca at the time was in billions of naira

Well, only WAEC can truly confirm this.
Trust bloggers at your risk

Indeed, only WAEC can confirm it. The people who said this are not beefing. They are right. You can say someone with 9A1s is the best in WAEC. he/she could be among the best - but not necessarily the very best. The very best will be 9A1s plus highest in most of the subjects in which they got the 9A1s.

This is not too hard to understand, is it? Or is this how tribalism don scatter people head?

Meanwhile, this is a genius performance. I am impressed. If I knew the boy, I would dash him 200K now now.

But! The title is misleading. This is not necessarily the best WAEC result. Stop mistaking truth for tribal bias. Wait for WAEC to announce the best WAEC 2019 results. It is possible there is someone else with 9A1 and 99 in each subject. It is also possible that the young dude being talked about here has the best result.

Summary - just freaking wait for WAEC to announce the best results for 2019. Don't freaking act prematurely. Una be baby?

One thing is sure, Covenant is a top university in Naija and is doing really well. It comfortably rubs shoulders with the Naija greats such as UNN, Unilag, UI etc.

NYSC / Re: Simon Godwin Idoko Made First Class After Writing JAMB 6 Times, Completes NYSC by Admitwithschola: 12:34am On Jul 26, 2019

Simon Godwin Idoko, a 29-year-old young man, who graduated with a First Class degree from the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto State in 2017 has completed his National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.

IDOMA VOICE had exclusively reported that Idoko, a native of Udaburu Owukpa, Ogbadibo LGA of Benue State, said his dream of becoming a medical doctor or pharmacist was frustrated after sitting for UTME for five times without success.

Still not discouraged, Godwin decided to take JAMB UTME the sixth time and was offered to study Applied Chemistry at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto where he graduated with a first class, garnering a total of 4.75 CGPA.

In April 2018, the Nigerian mediasphere literally went up in flame with the story of a young, resilient and resolute achiever.
The story of Simon Godwin Idoko enjoyed a massive publicity after he conquered his obstacles, shook off his challenges and came out with his head high above the academic sea.

Idoko was attached to the Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu State where he served as his Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) in the Chemistry Department.

The young Chemist took to his Facebook page on Thursday to thank those who were part of his laudable feat.

He wrote:

I want to thank God for the successful completion of NYSC. Thanks to my parents - Chief Onagene Simon Omonu Idoko (the kindred head of Ai-Owoya, Amuche, Owukpa, Benue state) and Queen Agnes Idoko for their sacrifices that made it possible for me to reach this stage of my life. My special thanks go to Dr Idoko Emmanuel Omale (my incomparable uncle) and my brother - Simon Idoko John. Other people that contributed to my enjoyable NYSC experience are Dr Igah Omale Igah, Comrade Daniel Abakpa, Ameh Comrade Godwin, Mrs Aladi Stephen, Mr Ogbanje Abah, Mr Okpe Agada and Ameh John Ekere. Thanks to all the staff of Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu (my Place of Primary Assignment (PPA)) for the good treatment. I want to thank the Head of Chemical Sciences Department - Mr Ayuk Eugene for his care. Thanks to the secretary of the department - Mrs Ngozi Uleanya for the cash gift. Thanks to Prof. C.O. Okafor and Mrs Chinelo Okeke for their cash gifts. Thanks to Mrs Scholastica Ilo for her care. Thanks to everybody. I have the most caring people in the world! When I was a corps member...

Covenant university is one the the very best universities in Nigeria right now. if you like accept it or don't, it doesn't change the fact.

And I speak as a neutral academic myself he neither works for a government not private university in Nigeria..

No, it does not mean she can teach her lecturers, although lecturers can learn from students too. What it means is the she is very bright and mastered most of the material she was taught and did very well on all her exams and labs and quizzes.

This is impressive, but it does not make her the teacher of her lecturer overnight..

She definitely doesn't have a bf. Infact, there is one common determining factor among first class students, especially those who studied challenging courses like hers; NO RELATIONSHIP AT ALL. Ask around. Relationship is sweet, but if one wants to be a stellar student, he or she must be willing to sacrifice that, at least for the duration he or she would be spending in campus.

In what sense is relationship sweet? LOL...To make majority of people get those average grades?

If someone introduces her to me, I will bring her to either MIT, Harvard or Stanford next September.

I tell students, if na book you want take chop, push yourself to the limits and do well. People will fight to support you.

Am not saying he is. Am only correcting ur assertion that because he wasn't in d '94 generation, then he wasn't a good goalkeeper hence ur mentioning Peter Rufai& his exploits @ d '94 world cup. Have u forgotten what happened to Rufai in '98? If Enyeama was in d '94 set, am sure he equally would have had his name written in gold also.

Mhen, I'm not sure anyone will debate that Enyeama was solid in his days. No argument there. Enyeama was fantastic in his time.

Rufy did exploits, great keeper and wielded so much confidence in the goal post.

Dosu was an great upcoming goalkeeper who would have succeeded Rufy in the late 90's after his Olympic exploits. Sad, sad he was stopped by that terrible accident.

Please remove Enyeama from the list. He reminds of the mediocre generation. Their keeper then was Peter Rufai who was nomited second best goal keeper in USA 94

Enyeama was GREAT in his time. He was FAR from mediocre - I agree he wasn't 1990's set.

Rufy was fantastic in the 1990's. His exploits gave me the motivated to choose goalkeeping as a young boy. His presence in the post gave us confidence in those days..

Meanwhile, can you give "evidence" that Rufy was voted 2 best at USA 94?
