Judging from that pix, Canadian police can't arrest in Nigeria if they expect some suspects to walk to the car. |

Paying tithe is scriptural and very important to all Christians. If you are not paying your tithe you are not obeying the scriptures. But ofcourse its your personal decision and shouldn't have affected your chances of landing that job unless the company is a church coy and really bent on hiring a person with their kind of believe and doctrines which happens too. Wish you good luck op. |

The Lagos Peoples Democratic Pary Governorship candidate, Mr Jimi Agbaje, has said tha Governor Babatund Fashola of Lagos State lied again on his company’s tax. The PDP guber candidate said that for Fashola to say that he has now paid N500,000 is a lie. and that there is no truth in the governoes statement. “There is no truth in this latest piece of misinformation that the Governor is spreading around. He lied again, giving the impression that my company paid money after his initial outburst and his first lie. “JAYKAY PHARMACEUTICALS has not paid a kobo since the day Fashola launched his initial allegation. To say that I have now paid N500,000 is a lie. My company sticks to the facts contained in its initial publication, which encapsulated its reaction to the Governor’s initial falsehood. “However, through his recent outburst this weekend, we get a clear picture of what his problem is. “The fact remains that Mr. Jimi Agbaje has never stopped to acknowledge Mr. Fashola’s efforts at improving Lagos. But the result of all his efforts still remains that Lagos in the Economic intelligence Unit (EIU) is still ranked 137th out of 140 cities listed in the liveability index. This means that if you take 140 cities worldwide where people consider good to live in, Lagos is the fourth worst place to live in. “Apart from this, a World Bank survey shows that of the 36 states in Nigeria, Lagos is still the worst state in terms of the ease of securing Building Permits. “It is still on record too that the party Fashola represents has delivered less than 5,000 units till date. “It is still on record that more students in Lagos fail WAEC than those who pass. “Even when we consider corruption, we are aware that Governor Fashola is yet to challenge anyone for corruption at the state level. Or is he saying Lagos is 100 percent corruption-free? Yet he goes about castigating the government. He should walk his talk and lead by example –expose and prosecute high- ranking corrupt officials in his government and the state civil service. “The corruption in the Lekki Toll Plaza will be made public in due cause. “Clearly, Governor Babatunde Fashola has set out to exploit the commanding heights he occupies in the seat of government to bully us. And we shall stand up to bullies.” It is quite illuminating that Governor Fashola is taking the issue of politics this personal and playing dirty politics. What Lagosians should ask is what is driving Fashola’s violent outbursts? What has Fashola got to hide? Other than lay the facts bare to enable the public form an informed opinion, Jimi Agbaje refuses to be baited into Fashola’s self-declared verbal warfare. Agbaje has always maintained that his politics and his campaign will be issues-based, and no roforofo badmouthing from anyone, no matter how highly placed, will steer Agbaje away from development- based politicking. Mr. Agbaje comes squeaky clean, and no amount of lies, misinformation, disinformation and falsehood can impinge on the integrity of a man who made invaluable sacrifices in the struggle for this democracy. |

THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Tuesday said that the membership card torn by former President Olusegun Obasanjo recently was an expired card that no longer qualified him as a member of the party. The party also stated it’s readiness to capture the South West geo-political zone and win the March 28 presidential election convincingly. PDP National Secretary, Wale Oladipo, while receiving a delegation of students mobilization group for President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election, stated that Obasanjo’s membership card was among the expired cards the PDP leadership had already isolated for destruction. Oladipo said: “Baba is over 80 and my mother is around Obasanjo’s age and when you reach that age, you do things that only you can explain. Secondly, you will see that Baba did not tear our card. He asked somebody ostensibly to do the tearing and I am assuring you that the card that was torn was not the current PDP card. The current PDP card is signed by Mu’azu and Prof. Wale Oladipo. So the card he tore was the one signed by the former PDP Acting National Chairman, Kawu Baraje, which we were going to destroy anyway.” And expressing confidence that Jonathan would record a convincing victory, PDP National Deputy Chairman, Uche Secondus, said the party would shock the opposition in the South West by achieving an unimaginable level of victory in that zone. “If you look well, the projects commissioned by President Jonathan in the last few weeks were in the South West including two power projects.” He mentioned the Lagos-Ibadan expressway as one of those projects in the South West that could sway votes in favour of the President. m.ngrguardiannews.com/en/news/national-news/199510-obasanjo-s-membership-card-had-expired-says-pdp |

With more and more soft drink brands entering the market virtually everyday, one will think they have lots to offer in terms of health benefits. Unfortunately they don’t! To say that soft drinks do more harm than good will be putting it mildly. The truth is apart from the immediate feeling they give you, they do not offer anything good at all. Here are the top reasons why you should stop taking soft drinks if you really are care about your health. 1. Soft drinks have no nutritional value Considering that soft drinks are filled with sugar and calories, they offer little or nothing in terms of nutrition. This is because these are two things you want to actually avoid to stay healthy. Infact, even diet soft drinks do not offer any nutritional benefit except that they contain less calories and sugar. If your goal is rehydration, then plain water can do that without bringing along the calories and sugar. 2. Soft drinks are a major factor in obesity and diabetes A can of coke contains as much as 10 cubes of sugar and you will need to cycle for 25 minutes to burn the calories. The sweetener used in most soft drinks is high-fructose corn syrup. This type of sugar has been linked to several conditions including obesity and diabetes. Diet soft drinks can also contribute to this because the sweetener used in them have been found to lead to increased appetite and makes it more difficult to lose weight. People who take one or more sugary drinks a day have been found to be more likely to have Type 2 Diabetes than those who don’t. 3. Soft drinks and dentition Soft drinks are made with carbonated water and this weakens tooth enamel, leading to the formation of cavities and tooth decay. The sugar in these drinks also coats the teeth allowing bacteria to thrive in the mouth. Studies have shown that soft drinks alone are responsible for doubling or tripling the cases of tooth decay. 4. Soft drinks and weakened Bones Soft drinks can be a factor in cases of osteoporosis where the bones are weakened. This is especially true in those who substitute the intake of milk with soft drinks. Children who consume excessive soft drinks have also been found to be at a significant risk of impairment in the calcification of their growing bones. 5. Metabolic Syndrome This syndrome combines high blood pressure, high cholesterol, insulin resistance with obesity. Soft drinks have unfortunately been found to be a major risk factor for the development of this syndrome. 6. Dehydration You may think that soft drinks are good for rehydration. It is important to note that the rehydration is short-lived. Many soft drinks contain significant amounts of caffeine. Caffeine is a kind of diuretic that causes an increase in the volume of urine passed. The excess sugar also causes more water to be lost from your body. There are several healthy alternative drinks that you can take instead of soft drinks and they include tea, natural fruit juice, coffee, low fat milk and plain water. www.flatimes.com/2015/02/six-dangers-consuming-soft-drinks.html?m=1

Pastor Faith Oyedepo: Sunday February 22, 2015 Daily Devotional - Dangers of Comparison “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”- 2 Corinthians 10:12 Years ago, I heard a story of a sister who killed her twin brother on the eve of the day he was suppose to travel abroad. He had clearly had a major breakthrough in his career, and she was not happy about it. Unknown to him, their competition started long ago and this time, she felt that she could not afford to lose! She had conceived this thought for so many years and that day in her mind, was the perfect time to execute it. It was a culmination of many years of favouritism but how exactly did this start?, you may ask. The said sister grew up “knowing” that her brother was better than her. When I mean better, I mean in every aspect. He was the best at school, quick to deliver when sent on errands, very respectful, and full of life. The parents did not hesitate to rub it in her face, how much more preferred her brother was. So, she began to resent him. This resentment grew to strong hatred, when she began to accept that she would never become anything like her brother, no matter how hard she tried. Career wise, he was doing great and she, just struggling. So, on that fateful day, she decided to end it all. End the frustration, competition and hatred she felt. Clearly what she did was wrong, but this had a root in her upbringing. Her parents had shown favouritism to her brother and never realized that by doing so, they told her she was not worth it. She would never be as good, as smart, or as successful. They tarnished her worth before she even had the chance to build it up on her own. Note that the major aim of this is not to shift blame, take sides with her, or validate her actions, but to show you clearly one of the ill effects of having a favourite and showing it; to the disadvantage of other siblings. While this is an extreme case, favouritism has brought about low self esteem, unhealthy competition, and even rivalries among siblings. As you start your day, examine how you have handled your children. Is there any way you might be favouring one above the others? Seek to amend that today and it will save yours and their futures. Every child has the capacity to be great, but it begins with you.
