CareerRe: The Authority Structure Of The Nigerian Police Force by Adortem: 7:22am On Dec 27, 2015
lanrema:
The Ranks In Nigeria Police Force are divided across three structures; Administrative, Authority and Organizational structure. The authority ranks in Nigeria police force (NPF), from top to bottom is the Inspector General of police down to the constable.

The Inspector-General of Police

In accordance with section 215(2) of the 1999 Constitution, section 6 of the Police Act, 1990, “the Force shall be commanded by the Inspector-General of Police”.

This simply means that orders, directives and instructions to carry out the duties with which the Police is carried, flows from the Inspector-General of Police, through the chain of Command, to any Officer positioned to implement such order.

The office of the Inspector General of Police is the highest rank in the Nigeria Police force.

The Deputy Inspector-General of Police

According to section 7(1) of the Police Act, the Deputy Inspector General of Police is the second in Command of the Force and shall so act for him in the Inspector-General’s absence.

Section 5 of the Act makes room for as many DIGs as the Nigeria Police Council considers appropriate. Every other rank below the IG, takes order of Command from him, in the performance of their lawful duties.

The Asst. Inspector-General of Police

The Office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police is provided for by section 5 and 8 of the Police Act. He shall act for the Inspector-General of Police in the event of the absence of the Inspector-General of Police and Deputy Inspector-General of Police

The Commissioner of Police (In-charge of contingents in a state)
What rank would a degree holder hold? I mean if you are admitted as a degree holder what rank will you be in?

Section 5 of the Police Act, in accordance with the provisions of section 215 (2), of the Nigeria Constitution, provides for the Office and rank of a Commissioner of Police who shall be in Control of contingents of the Police Force stationed in a State. He is subject however, to the command of the Inspector-General of Police or who-so-ever acts for him, in his absence.

Every other rank in the Force is legally provided for by section 5 of the Police Act. The Command structure of the Nigeria Police can be presented in order of hierarchy as in the chain here under.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police

The Asst. Commissioner of Police

The Chief Superintendent of Police

The Superintendent of Police

The Deputy Superintendent of Police

The Asst. Superintendent of Police

The Inspector of Police

Sergeant Major

Sergeant

Corporal

Constable

Marriage is a delicate decision,no wonder the Yorubas refer to marriage as "Oja Okunkun" "Dark Market" where you don't know what you bought until you open the content when you get home, everybody seem to appear perfect when they are unmarried. May God help us that are still single.

EducationRe: Missing OAU Law Student: Reasons to Doubt Her Claim of being an Oau Law Student by Adortem: 3:33pm On Dec 22, 2015
emaculate99:
I was called at about few minutes past eight about a missing student of the faculty of law for about 10 days now. The source also claimed that she is a part two student and only for me to put on my phone to discover that almost all law students were involved in the search. Had to join by sending BC both on bbm and whatsapp and as expected, headed to the faculty to confirm her student status. Here are a few points to doubt she is ifelaw.

1. The information from the members of llb 2 was that they've never seen the face beforehand which was also corroborated by the class governor when I called him. The database of the class didn't show she's a member so I had to appeal to faculty secretary to help in confirmation of the info on the school database which she was  unable to do due to poor network. I decided to approach a senior lecturer with all law students database linked to the admission office but futile was the respite despite the search from class to class.

2. I called the family to release any information which could be helpful and also the numbers of friends but the sister said none of these numbers were reachable. I later insisted on collecting them and particularly those in law according to them but she sent just one and was sent to the PLO to confirm the ownership of the line. The result was negative.

3. Don't forget the report was that a friend claimed to have seen her on the 12th of this month. I demanded for the number of the friend, had a long conversation with her and she made me realize thier friendship was just a month old and that she stays in sport while she stays in town (the friend). Issues became clearer when I asked her about some of the courses they offer and their contract lecturer. Her response was that she is not a law student but a student of mass communication at Obafemi Awolowo University. Guys! Hope we are together?

 4. Upon the demand of any of her identification document they could lay their hands on in the house, the sister was only able to send her pre-degree registration number and full name meaning they don't know her matric number which is not a crime. I later demanded for her username on Facebook which was sent immediately. Her profile claimed she's a student of our faculty and I further decided to check her pictures. After viewing over 500 pictures, I was only able to see one where she appeared on the regulation dress but it was of a Sunday. I further checked for her friends but none happened to be a law student which I know of.

The truth as it stands now is that someone somewhere is "missing" and we are this involved bcus she has been said to be part of our family but the truth is that she doesn't have at the moment, the qualifications of our family member. I await report from the center for distance learning which is a body in charge of the pre-degree program to confirm if she was there for the program and if yes, her final score and the admission offered. Her name and the predegree registration number have been sent to the center this afternoon for confirmation. The truth is that as large as we are, we are more united than termites in a termitarium. A member of us cannot exist outside our knowledge! !!!

Lets keep the search bcus no one can tell..... GOD BLESS LSS!

Lss president.
The friend couldn't have said she was a Mass Comm student cos she would have known that there is no "Mass Communication" course in OAU,she might have been denied LAW after her pre-degree and lied that she was admitted to Law to her parents but that is only a speculation. Law faculty is very large sometimes all students can't be identifeid, only through admission list, the secretary of the faculty can help with that.

But on a serious note nw, u are at a redemption camp, I hope u're ready to change ur ways. Did u see the list compiled by ponpin? Yh, it's true and that's the kind of person most if nt all of us perceive u as - arrogant, insensitive (u think u're helping but while trying to help u hurt pple's feelings), u suck at giving advice -maybe cos u lack manner of putting thns across , it cld be ur version of being frank tho, but most times it comes off as harsh, the tracking ish is annoying too, then u talk to pple like they are kids even wtout knowing them, etc. I know u ain't tht bad tho, u just dnt see anything wrong wt them. But, I hope u'll work on all these traits
Best advice ever! Greatguru,I really hope you would take to it,you are a piece of work, wish you the best though...

Hi everyone,

The interview was good, lasted just over an hour about 70 mins...the interviewer was nice but very professional.
All I did basically was give scenarios regarding the various attributes he asked about...mostly about challenges faced and how I was able to over come them because of something I did.

Can't say how well I did cos results is all that matter but I felt pretty good after the interview.

Regarding it being impromptu, it wasn't. Got a call on Wednesday, interview was scheduled for Friday morning.

I don't know anything about the recruitment process...didn't do anything special...basically submitted my application and went on with my life...I suggest we all do the same. if you get called prepare hard and do your best...if you don't move on...there's no point trying to figure out timelines and what not.

Stay positive...stay hopeful...keep moving.
Ciao!
To be double sure, don't want to assume,I read your comment but no where in your comment refers to Shell. My question is,was the interview Shell or another coy?

I smell rumours on this thread, please if you want to give info, share info with "hard facts",info one can easily follow-up,not info that would cause unnecessary anxiety. If you claim the list is already out and pasted in faculties, why don't you attach a pix shot to it before sharing such info...

Whether we like it not not, this is beyond normal,it is clearly a spiritual problem, there is a demon in your marriage, this explains the wicked and devilish act, instead of scolding you I pity you a lot and that poor woman. You must go for deliverance before it is too late that you eventually kill her then the demon would leave you. This isn't child's play, you are in a deep well.

I beg to disagree with the opinion that not all applications are reviewed,do you think they review all those applications manually? Its all done electronically and the computers that do that are already programmed,if you meet their requirement, you would be called,a well established organisation wouldn't pick candidates on "luck" they know what they want and if you are found qualified, meeting their requirements, you would be called.Note that I am not undermining "the God factor",very important.

Not true bro...nobody is thinking that he/she is better than the others; the thing is, the bulk of the 47 pages that make up this thread is just filled with crap and unnecessary repetition of already answered questions. If i were the MOD, i'd delete about 25 pages from this thread. One could be forgiven for thinking that there are not too many smart people applying for this shell recruitment. Go through the 2013 & 2014 shell recruitment threads, you'd notice a stark contrast to this.
Calm down, life is not as difficult as you are taking it,its a free world, you don't expect people to act the way you want them to,so learn to accomodate others' behavioural patterns,of course there would be "fresh" and "unfresh" graduates on this thread, you don't expect them to act the same way, sometimes,we should learn to tolerate others even if you feel you know more than them,if the notifications you see on this thread doesn't interest you simply click unfollow or overlook it,its rather derogatory for someone to be saying some should rather be selling recharge cards on the streets, rather than applying to Shell....
