How can you defend shutting down schools for 5 whole weeks? How, really? Do you think it's just? How would it impact the students? What about the non-Muslim students sef? Does this even make sense?

Hello Nairalanders. About a week ago, on my way from work I met this pretty lady. I approached her and we began walking together cuz we were heading towards the same direction. I noticed, that she was a simple and lively person, so we exchanged contacts before we departed.

We began to talk on phone that same night. She works as a cook in a guest house not too far from where she stays and do three days at work and three days off. She calls me constantly while off duty and she seems so into me as if she has known me for a long time. She calls me different pet names like, " my love, Daddy and my king" .

In view of the above, I'm confused cos i don't even know much about her, aside the fact that she's from the south west and I'm from North Central, though we share the same religion. I'm always wary of ladies that are quick in displaying affection cos i see it as desperation.

My plan is to play along while studying her to know the real person inside of her. For now, she is not showing any red flags. Please pardon my writings! What do guys think?

The car am eyeing is Camry 2014, dealer is telling me 11.5 million. If I use 11.5m that means I only have 500k left. I'm confused weather to go for the car or not.

The slave trade was a transactional enterprise, not a political treaty. Europeans didn’t “buy goods” they bought humans, often sourced directly from African Kings/rulers who captured and sold their own people . If a car salesman profits from selling stolen cars, do buyers owe the thief a “thank you” and a nation-state? 🤷🏼

You must be aware that European traders weren’t in the business of empowering African societies, they were exploiting them. The slave trade enriched them. Africans who sold their kin weren’t “partners”, they were accessories to mass atrocity.

Blaming Europeans all the time is funny. As John K. Thornton notes, African rulers “tortured and sold their kinsmen” to Europeans, making them active architects of the trade’s brutality. If accountability applies to Europeans, why not to African elites who profited?

If your so called African leaders at the time were just “sellers” in a “simple trade,” why didn’t they negotiate for, say, technology instead of guns and trinkets?

Now people say Europeans “owed” Africans independence, how come post-colonial African nations (not Europeans) create borders, dictatorships, and corruption that still plague the Africa? Expecting “independence” from slavers is like asking a drug dealer to fund your rehab.
