It depends on the purpose of the lie. For my Master, the end justifies the means.

Eg. If I lied to a girl that she looks very pretty in order to get her in my bed, my Master is very happy because telling her the truth would not have achieved any purpose. But if I told a girl that she is not pretty in order to compel her to take better care of her looks and become prettier; that is a truth that makes my Master happy.
If I do the reverse of either of these two, Master very angry.

My point is that if a translated version of the bible doesn't suit some people, they make up their own version with a different meaning. So in the end, the bible can say and mean whatever you want it to say.

Even the most ardent defenders of the bible are beginning to realise that their book actually makes no sense.

Good effort except Jeremiah and Isaiah were both talking of the future. Not the past. They were prophets and prophets prophesy. That is why there a a lot of "will" and "shall" in their statements.

This is another example of combing the bible to find passages to mask the stupidity of the writter of the book and the absolute lack of intelligence of those that follow it.

Even all his explanation cannot account for the existence of dinosaurs as per the bible.

Joagbaje: No rather , the creation story is being misunderstood. There was a perfect world created in genesis 1:1 but there was destruction that led to what was mentioned in verse 2.
The gap between verse 1, and 2 was millions of years. All the pee historic animals existed and were destroyed long before Adam was created.

So your reconciliation of dinosaurs to genesis was that there were omitted?

First, the fact that Adam and Eve were made naked by God. Okay, if God made them naked it obviously wasn't considered a sin to be naked. So, I guess my question is if God didn't consider it a sin to be naked, why did eating from the tree suddenly make being naked a sin? To put it another way, if eating from the tree gave them knowledge of good and evil, how did it suddenly make something God saw as okay (the unclothedness) a sin or a bad thing?
Secondly, the Garden of Eden was a supposed perfect place and there was no sin, right? If god told Adam and Eve not to eat the apple, but they made a conscious decision to disobey (decision occurs before the actual eating of the apple which was what I thought the first sin was), wouldn't that mean that sin already existed? They disobeyed a direct order from the big guy. Also, if the garden was perfect, what was an evil serpent doing there looking to lead them astray by suggesting they sin?

You don't need to be confused. Imagine that Satan is good and god is evil. Reread the bible with this new imagination in your head and everything will begin to make sense.

1- Daniel was allergic to cats. In those days, their native doctors used to prescribe cat repellent ointments for them to put aound their houses and on themselves so cats don't come near them. So when Daniel was thrown in the den, the ointment on his body kept the cats away.

2- Daniel was one of the guards of the lions and had bonded with them previously. As one of the guards, he used to bring them food. So they associated Daniel with a caring figure who brings them food. Unlike humans, lions don't bite the hands that feed them.

Or

3- As the lions were domesticated in a den, they have lost the ability to kill in order to feed as their food is always brought to them in form of dead cut up meat. So Daniel didn't look like food.

If the speed of rotation of the earth increases, automatically the time taken to revolve round the earth axis will be initiated faster. What happens then? The period of day and night will be shortened. What is too hard there to grasp?

1. You nailed yourself here. This is what you get from a terrible copy and paste job. If time is constant, why would there be variations in speed and distance to determine it? The moment you say the value of a thing is constant, saying that it requires any other thing for it to be determined contradicts it. Can time be constant and still vary? Can a constant vary?

Maybe they're aliens, or part of a secret US experiment. Maybe the myth of santa claus has a nugget of truth in it like all many legends do. In any case I don't think either are likely so I act as if they don't exist. The same applies to god.
