Pls which school did u email? Do Nigerian schools just respond to emails? Which is unique ID? Is ICES cheaper than WES? Pls this info is important cos I want to start processing my ECA. Thanks

My school AAU sent my transcript via email to ICES
I emailed ICES to confirm that they got the transcript, i didnt want to hear its collecting dust in spam box and all that.
I dont know about Nigerian scools but i know mine does. They know how important transcript is, so they usually respond well.
I am not sure ICES is cheaper, i just know its less stressful with verification and all
When you create your account with ICES, u will be given unique ID, visit their website for more details.

Hello everyone, I really didn't want to ask a question that had been answered but I don't understand something on the ices website, are we to also submit WAEC?
.

Well what i did was to submit a CLEAR scanned copy of passport, degree and ssce, then i asked my school to email them my transcript with my unique id and name as d subject of the email. I emailed ICES the next to confirm if they have gotten the transcript they replied yes and that evaluation was in progress. So u just chill and wait. It saves cost and I got my ECA exactly 10 weeks delivered to my door step.

talisae:
Pls can u send the material to me..@ taflino@gmail.com.Thanks alot.

1. Stick to a FEW practice materials! The number of materials for IELTS that we see on a daily on this thread can be overwhelming. Try out only a few and stick to the one that resonates with you. Don't use ieltsliz, Jay, Cambridge, ieltsadvantage, road2ielts etc at the same time (some of these peope don't agree on the same approach and reading all can get really confusing). If you try one and it sits well with you, ditch others. Focus on that one and be a master of it. I almost got overwhelmed at some point, because l wanted to open every link or try every material l saw here. But l had to give myself brain oh.

2. Practise everyday. No excuses. Create the time. Even at work, you can use your lunch break to practise. Instead of listening to music or radio on your way to work, listen to your downloaded tips on writing, speaking, reading, listening. When walking down the streets, have an earpiece on (l hate this, but we can make sacrifices for one month abi?) and keep LISTENING. At weekends, practice speaking with your wife/husband, friend, son/daughter etc. Write out questions and tell them to ask you (under exam conditions). I finished a WHOLE 30 leaves notebook for listening practice (yeah l work an 8 to 5 and live on the mainland with my office on the island -remember, no excuses!). Always check your wrong answers and replay those portions and find out what you didn't hear properly. I used youtube for listening/speaking/reading.

3. There's this ielts expert too, one Ryan (cannot remember his surname) that l think is underrated. I used his tips for writing. He talks about 15 sentences max for writing. 3 paragraphs with 4 sentences and the closing paragraph should have 3 sentences. This keeps you in check and you already know what to write before the exam, all you will be waiting for on the ielts day is the topic given! I can share his materials if you drop your email address.
For writing, write letter and essays! Don't read what someone else wrote. Write yours too. Some people practise writing by reading another's work -WRONG! write yours too and compare. Minimum letters to write on different topics - 10. Minimum essays - 20. Revise your work and look for better ways to reconstruct your sentences. I suggest you write with pencil on your exam day so you can erase if need be.

4. For reading - use youtube. It also has a timer, so practice using the time and don't stop the timer or pause the video. The easiest comprehension in reading are the first two. Spend less time there. Say 5 mins tops for each. You do not need to UNDERSTAND nada. Just look at the instructions (very important), then the questions, then scroll through the passages for the answers. You need all your time for the last two passages. They are more technical.

5. For speaking - Be confident, relaxed and know your basic english and introduction (see ieltsliz). See this as an interview. We all attend interviews don't we? I got a list of 42 likely cue cards from ieltsliz blog (l think she said they change it every 3 months but she always update the cue card questions) and l practiced the 42 different topics and l always set my two minutes timer with my phone. You can be in the BRT or your car and practice this one, or when walking down the street or whilst doing chores at home, or lying down in your bed doing nothing (l did this. Some days, people will think you are going crazy because you are talking to yourself, but...who no go no know). One of the 42 questions l practiced was my cue card during my speaking test -something on my pet animal (l was wondering "madam why me? Animal kwa?" but because l had practised earlier, the examiner had to cut me off when it was two minutes. I just went on and on.

4. Lastly and certainly not the least...the place of PRAYER. I'm catholic, so when l saw the prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino here, l made a mental note to say it. I started saying it every day from September till i wrote my exam on the 1st of November. I even added a 9 days St. Joseph of Cupertino novena with prayer and fasting which ended on the 31st of October (l'm that extra oh. I left no chances). I asked my family to add me in their prayers too. So, pray, pray and pray. Whatever works for you. Someone dropped one St. prayer here on financial assistance for POF, best believe l'll look for that prayer and do it too!

5. People have done it, you too can. Don't be discouraged if you have tried more than once. We don't give up on this thread oh. Being here has taught me a different level of selflessness and never say never spirit. People you don't even know are quick to help and empathise and l am still in awe of you guys.

6. Please drop your email address so l can send the Ryan materials to you.

This too shall pass!

All the best everyone and my apologies for the long post.

Pls email me the materials jor advocatetruth@yahoo.com

Try www.anzscosearch.com. it'll direct you every possible links to Australian migration. From the Assessing bodies of all the job codes to the states sponsoring these nominations. But you must register first on the site to access their full content. Everyone should check it out and if possible follow them on Facebook for the latest migration info. Also check out www.iscah.com. Wonderful sites

Thank you. I have registered. Will also check out the iscah website.

But does each state have their own website I have to go thru in terms of getting nominations.

Hi , you have made some valid points.
However, its important that we understand where to draw the line in our interaction with people. The world is already a terrible place and living in Nigeria is already enough punishment for any sane human so lately am learning to be quiet if I cant be helpful.

It is possible to admonish people without venting our pent up frustration and anger on them. I have seen enough to learn never to judge people and also to master the art of correcting without offending. You do not know where the poster is coming from so if you must provide some guidance lets try do that without necessarily seating ourselves up there and threatening them with fire and brimstone.

The way you have written and advised the poster is matured enough, it gets to me when people try to bully others on the net.
Lets learn the culture of empathy, we cant ask someone to abort their dreams because of lack of funds.
Some have so much while others dont have at all, its good to always remember that and be grateful instead of degrading.

thank you God bless you.
I asked my questions because i needed clarifications, for anyone to think i intend to commit fraud because of my questions shows they have very little understanding of my questions, makes me understand the different scores of IELTS exams we see here, i am still gathering documents, understanding the process and not even written my exams yet,.
for those who have provided positive response, i cannot thank you enough, i am learning daily. and if my moniker offends you , pele ohh

Proof of funds is a requirement for a reason.

What if you land and don’t get a job immediately?
Hope you won’t do a twitter post on how Nigerians are suffering in Canada?

The Nigerian ability to justify knowingly flaunting rules is one of the reasons we are where we are as a country today, and I bet our politicians and government officials have justifications for what they do.

We are all trying to leave for this same reason. Yet here you are.
. This thread was created to help people who obviously dont know it all, I asked my question because I need clarification, so if dont have any contributions to make in that light, I suggest u keep ur opinion to your self, whether I make a post about nigerians suffering in canada or not, it doesn't mean there arent any who have it tough over there like wise here in nigeria.
So no point stating the obvious. If you read and understood my questions ur comment would be unnecessary.

Greetings e-famz. Having read through the thread, I have a few questions about POF, I might have missed it somewhere in the 500 plus pages,
1) does POF funds have to be in your account before you apply for EOI?
2) Considering the present situation of the country, I intend to sounce this funds from north south east and all over in to an account then into my main account. Mainly from two of my stingy unlcles. How long does the funds have to be in my account before it is safe to return what ever its borrowed,
3) if I am getting it all wrong, pls enlighten me mbok.
