Good evening everyone, pls this will be my first time again entering the US after I gave birth in may 2016. This time around, am just going for vacation with my kids and not for child birth. Kindly let me know what other documents that could be of help at POE apart from receipts of hospital payments and my zero balance I got when I delivered.
Thank you
Hello House,
So I finally went for my 2nd interview last week Monday below is my transcript

VO: Hello, how are you doing? Thank you so much for informing us about your intention and we really appreciate you coming in.

Me: not a problem
(Meanwhile behind her was a white lady and a white man whom I assume is the Interviewer’s supervisors)

VO: there have been a lot of medical insurance fraud in the US and we are trying to manage it the little way we can; most hospitals give you a lower cost for child birth and afterward they go back to claim it from insurance and we are trying to reduce it by making sure you are going to the right hospital; please can you show me your correspondence between you and the hospital?

Me: sure (handed her the papaer)

VO: thank you; you are going to New Jersey and why New Jersey?

Me: I have family and friends in New Jersey who will assist me during my stay

VO: oh okay; I can see that you have been offered $8k for CS and the cost of childbirth in New Jersey is approximately $16k which means they will later go and claim the balance on your behalf.

ME: oh is that what they do? Wow that not good. If I was given a higher price I could have plan for it and if it’s something we can afford definitely we will go for it, we can afford it, it’s something I can actually afford on my own if that was the cost they gave me.

VO: okay so where do you work and what do you do?

ME: (I told them)

VO: and your husband ?

ME: ( I told them)

VO: okay can you please give me a minute let me talk to my supervisors?

ME: Sure not a problem

( aunty mute the microphone spoke to the people behind and I could literally hear their conversation)

VO: please can you do something for me?

ME: sure what is it?

VO: can you look for another hospital in New Jersey that can give you the right bill, I understand you have family in New Jersey but they are other cheaper states where you can have you baby
(And she looks back, talking to her supervisors “do I need to take her passport? “ Oga said “no we are not revoking her visa so we don’t need her passport”
And she turns back to me after bringing out a white paper )
Can you send in your correspondence with the new hospital and attached your bank statement and send it to this Dhl address, since we are not revoking your visa I don’t think we need your passport.

ME: okay thanks, so how long will it take to hear back from you?

VO: just send it in and we will get back to you via email as soon as possible.

ME: okay thanks

Packed my papers and I left meanwhile I had arranged myself for Canada all I had to do was hit send if they try to denied me; so my confidence level was intact and I know with a valid VISA your chances of getting Canada visa was high so I was ready for them.

I have started looking for hospital though really wish I can get list of states in the US and their maternity cost. Google is just giving me incomplete information. Please if you have or have seen any link share with me. I will also advice we avoid Texas cos with what i see Texas and New Jersey are on the same category when it comes to cost.

DeeandGLady:
Hello All,
I feel a lot better now to talk about it so others can learn. My Visa was REVOKED recently on the day of my mums interview. If you recall my previous post, my mom was to have her interview although I wanted to change her interview date until am gone but there were no dates available before my delivery and I will be having a CS, so we prayed and trusted God that all will be fine with her interview, I even asked if ones visa could be revoked, Little did I know it would happen to me and things will turn out this way. I really can’t type the whole transcript of what happened, I might take almost 4 Pages here if I do that besides am saving my energy for child birth. grin

I tried to reapply after the VO revoked my visa cos her last words were Madam you can reapply, go and reapply, I have written it here that you can reapply, but to my greatest surprise I found myself In front of the same VO who revoked my visa on the day of my interview (Yes oo same VO) and her problem was how did I get an interview date, (note this was about a month difference in date from my moms interview) she said they are fully booked and waiting period is 4 months so how did I get date, una see me see Wahala ba smiley infact if you know how that day also went you will cry for me and this baby, the things our eyes have seen and ears heard. But in all am thankful to God and I find Peace staying back to have my baby here, as I don’t know God’s will and plans for me and this baby but to wait on his will. In God’s hands lies our destiny no one can change that fact. Try do your best and leave the rest to God.

Please note, I have been to the US several times and I have never committed any crime Ooo I had also written to the embassy of my plans and got a reply from them (check my previous post) Before my mums interview.
I renewed my visa when I was not pregnant via interview cos my previous visa wasn’t issued in Nigeria so I didn’t qualify for drop box, My first baby was born in US, I paid all my bills and have all receipts , itemized bill and Zero balance letters, so I came clean in everything guys.
I had way above 20k dols for the trip in my statement.

I was invited in for questioning on the day of my mums interview after I dropped her off, she had already been given the white paper and asked to come and call me I don’t know who that VO went to consult that changed everything by the time I got in, while I was with her she kept going in an coming out, infact make I stop here, I don’t want to break down again, am putting the past behind me.

My Advice:
Stay away from cheap hospitals, HNWMC has a red flag with US VO, the miracle moment package given to self pay patients has something to do with insurance, read in between the lines on the document usually sent. They have a list of hospitals with red flag.

Make sure you have your Nigeria address on your child/Children’s birth certificates.

If you did not get your visa for birthing, send your letter of intent quietly, carry your self go US go born your pikin. Am reading about one sister trying to apply for her sister Biko sister hold on. Ladies once you have your visa, I beg manage your husband will be fine, go born come home, don’t complicate issues cos theses people are making things difficult for Nigerians these days. I forgot to mention that in September they passed a document that will make it difficult for Nigerian to get US visa, wish I can screenshot and post here so please let’s be careful.

After your birthing experience, before another missionary journey try travel elsewhere so you have good travel history.

Never stop saying the truth, Prepare well and Pray very well before your interview, so your village people go miss road, dey no go find you reach US embassy gate grin

Ehen ooo those going to have baby or those who are planning to come back and can help a sister with about 3-5kg of some very important items please indicate or PM me God go bless you for me grin

Sorry for the long post so you see that if I have to type the whole transcript part 1 and 2 some people will beat me here smiley
So sorry about this ordeal, it is well
God knows the best.

No biggie, let her just follow the same process married women follow too, the only difference in her case would be that she won't have a marriage certificate to present,(Dr & hospital correspondence, have enough money to cover the trip, get accommodation, get strong ties to home country, prepare budget sheet etc)
They can also go to the registry and get a marriage certificate if he truly wants to marry girlfriend in case marriage certificate is asked for.
But am not sure it's not always asked for, she can still apply like a married woman and the guy will serve as a tie back here as well as her job or business. Get doctors/ hospital correspondences, bank statement and other relevant documents.

Phoenix is your POE. Hope you have a Canadian visa sha? If you don't, then dare not go near that ticket. If you have conquered the Chicago POE there's hardly any other one that pose more toughness to you. Never forget to be fully prepared though much more than you did with Chicago, you never can tell, underrate none....
Thanks for ur response, but wouldn't they allow me to transit in canada/Toronto airport without their visa? Am not going to leave the airport, will be in transit for 7hrs. So theirs doesn't work like UK when flown BA to US and u transit at Heathrow airport without UK visa?

And also how's Los Angeles POE like? Pls people with experience. I know they cannot be like Chicago. I conquered the almighty Chicago in 2016.

I agree with you on the vibes, but it isn't my fault God blessed me with twin babies for my second trip. I have read many people who have done even 3 missionary journey. Again, my visas were both medical visas. That said. On getting home and going over the incidence of the interview, I feel really angry. For her to say that it wasn't possible to birth twin babies thru a CS and pay the amount I paid implied that I ran away from the US without paying my bills, I forged the documents I presented to her and I am a liar, n a fraud. Most people who use HNWMC pay much less. My bill got to that level cos they were twins in the first instance. My God! Yet such decision is not appealable. Isn't there a way to register such grievances. I need to clear my name. Only God know what she typed into that system. It could just be...bla bla bla lied about her bills or bla bla bla didn't pay her bills. I seriously need to clear my name for my children's sake

So sorry about this, where did the interview take place? Abuja or Lagos?. I had similar experience in Abuja when I was given 221g and I went for interview and was denied. The VO refused to even look at my itemized bills and zero balances or even listen to me and see that I paid all my bills. But reapplied in Lagos and as God may have It, this VO gave me attention, was patient with me and I had to open up, told him how the previous VO didn't give me enough audience to explain myself and pleaded with him to look at all my receipts if he wouldn't mind. I also took the hospital quote of all their prices I got from them immediately I registered along side and explained that those quotes was for cash/ self pay patients. In all, pls always ask for God's favour. There is nothing He can't do and He gives us the right VO that can have the patience to look into our cases.

Wow! This is awesome, congratulations is very much in order.... This wasn't an easy one, thanks to God and your proper preparation. The Chicago POE experience seem to have served as a training for you I swear, came in handy. Once you actually pass through and survive secondary inspection at the US POE, nothing scares you again almost at every airport worldwide. You actually come across as a woman of steel though, the type that may be "pretending" not to know so to speak, but know loads, busy cleverly covering loose ends and stylishly blocking loopholes.

You had this together, sound responses all the way especially with adding the extras you weren't yet asked by the VO. Oh, on the POE experience, I like the part where you even refused the 2 months stamp, some good gut backed with clear reasoning as to why. God bless you all dear parents for the things you do to place your kids on an advantageous pedestal ab initio, God bless and multiply your seed sowed. Regards
Thanks so much, we return all glory to God.

Good morning all, in the spirit of giving Back, I want to share my interview I attended yesterday 5th Sept 2018, 8.30am in Lagos.
It all ended in praise, visa was granted.
Pls u can click the search bottom and read more of my post and previous experiences on this platform.

I was the one that Renenewed my visa in feb 2016 via drop box for family vacation, after I got the visa, along the line my doctor here in Abuja decided to refer me to a doctor in US cos am a high rist patient and have lost 5 pregnancies plus still birth after my first child I had in 2010.
Since I already had a valid US visa, I decided to try Us, a colleague introduced me to Nairaland and I started following. I had to do letter of change of intent, but my POE at Chicago was something else.
To cut the long story short. I renewed my visa this year via drop box in Abuja buy was given a 221g and I went for interview in April and was denied.

I reapplied in May, when I found out I was pregnant again and did B2 and B1/B2 for my son & Decided to try Lagos this time .

VO ; why are u going to the Us?
Me; for vacation and child birth.i was in the US 2016, I had a baby there. Thou the intention of getting the visa then was for family vacation, but my OBGYN here refered me out after I had obtained that visa cos of high risk and I wrote the Embassy notifying them of change in plans
Vo; can see u wrote to Abuja
Me; yes.
Vo; is the Us baby Emmanuel?
Me ; yes.
Vo; how much did u pay for medical apart from other expenses
Me; About 7k dollars , I have the receipts if u wouldn't mind I show u.
VO; don't worry we may or may not get to that.
Are u going to use same Hosp and doctor in Arizona this time around
Me: yes and I also have new correspondences from both doc and Hosp.
Vo; where do u work
Me: I work with via bla bla Bank and started describing my duties and added I have worked with them for 10yrs now.
Vo: how much is ur monthly take home,
Me, I take home bla bla, I have bla bla allowances, I also have my bank statements here and I also have a part time business running where in employed people managing it for me and I make bla boa amount monthly frm the biz.
Vo; what's the biz into?
Me; Fashion designing and tailoring.
Vo; he asked what my husband was into and if he has a valid visa at the moment
Me, he is into real estate, they build, sales and maintain houses. He is into partnership with his boss. He couldn't use his last visa obtained two years ago cos his sheadules was right with lots of projects all over the country. This time, he is busy with Election campaign as his Boss is contesting for our state governorship in the forth coming election.
Vo;Ok I see
Me; but he may apply and come when the baby is born for just 2wks
Vo; when is ur Edd
Me ; bla bla
When do u intent travelling
Me bla bla
Vo; can I see all ur receipts
Me, I gave him everything, from doctor to Hosp to epidural to pediactrician receipts and zero balances and letter on non indebtedness.
VO; HE went thru them, ask a question on my doctors package, why I was given that particular one cos there where 3 packages for self pay patients. Did they ask me at the doc how much I earn over there b4 giving me that package?
Me, I said no. They only told me am qualified for that package since I was paying in full on the first day of my registration and I wasn't using any insurance. Note my doctors fee was 1100dollars for VD and it included all test done cos they accepted most of my Nigerian test results.
Vo; let me se ur bank statement
Me; I forwaded my two bank statements, My letter frm HR to him as he was going thru, I quickly told him of the two lump sums I had in three diff months were monies invested in treasury bills and fixed deposits that matured. That I want to use them pay my Hosp bills.
Vo; How do u intent converting them to dollars to pay ur bills. And do u have a budget of the cost?
Me; I gave him my budget sheet, told him i work with a bank, so I told him of PAT which am entitled to 4k dollars b4 travelling, i told him of form A used in paying hosp/ school fees abroad and wire directly to the Hosp acct. That was how I paid for the previous child birth in 2016 b4 leaving Nig.
Vo; can see on the system u were in Washington Dc in 2015, what happened?
Me; was a family trip for just 3weeks
VO: way was ur experience with the homeland securities like in 2016 in the US when u arrived?
Me; I told him I used Chicago as my POE and how my secondary inspection went, how they had to call my Hosp to confirm the payment I made via wire transfer b4 coming , called my host to be sure she was expecting me. Went thru my phone. Wanted to stamp me in for 2months according to my return ticket I refused and asked them to stamp me in at least for 3months so I will be sure baby arrives and i would be done with documentations by then. But as God may have It, I left on the day of my return ticket cos I was done with everything.
Vo; asked the date I left the US and was checking my passport
Me; I told him.
He kept tying for a very long time, and I kept praying in my mind. Finally he told me my visa have been approved I should pick up with my son's own in Abuja in 4days as I requested cos i reside in Abuja.
Note; he didn't ask anything about my son, he was busy making noise and playing
My 7yrs old I had here in Nig first. So I just told him that I will be travelling with him if school have vacated by then, if not he will come with my mum for the Xmas holiday since my mum have a valid visa by then the new baby must have arrived.

It all ended in praise, but It was a long interview close to 30mins, when I came out some people kept asking me what happened cos it was quiet long and so much questions for me.
But I give all glory to God. It's good to be truthful and pray, there is nothing God cannot do. Thanks for this platform, I got the knowledge frm here.

Hi gurus in the house, pls my sister have intrrview in lagos in sept with her son, her husband intent applying for his own after they must have gone for the interview if its sucessful cos they went together sometime in April for tourism and was denied.

But this time, she is doing medical visa. The question is because dates are getting far and her EDD is in dec. If the husband apply now, he can get a Nov date as against waiting and applying in sept when available dates might likely be nxt year and baby must have come by then.
What of if the wife's interview isn't sucessful? What will the hubby now say he will be going to US to do as the intension is really going to experince the birth of their new baby.

Pls gurus in the house, someone that is applying for a B2/ medical visa, should she fill the doctors address as contact address in the Us or she should fill her aunty's address she have been using previously on her Ds160 form. And pls for her child's form as well, which address can be used as they are applying for the visa together.

Note: she already has correspondences from doctor and hospital. Thanks.
Hello All,

I just want to say a very big thank you to you all. This forum helped me with my visa application. I’ll love to share my story as it might help the next person.

I’ve been to the United States several times in the past and still have a valid visa expiring in July (exactly on my EDD).

I decided to renew the visa via Dropbox as I wasn’t comfortable being in another man’s land with an expired visa (I later learnt from this forum that this wasn’t an issue as your duration of stay is determined by the CBP)

I applied through Dropbox with 3 other members of my family (our visas were expiring on the same day). All 3 of them got their visa but me. I was asked to schedule a follow-up interview based on a 221g category.

Many thanks to this forum I got all my supporting documents ready, scheduled the interview and below is my transcript.

VO: Good Morning
Me: Good Morning and how are you doing?
VO: Very well thank you. And why are you going to the United States
Me: Vacation and to have my baby
VO: I see you’ve traveled several times to the U.S, do you always stay in New Mexico (this info he clearly got from my DS160)
Me: Oh no, my sister just moved there from Visalia, California, it will be my first time in Albuquerque NM.
VO: I don’t know which is worse Visalia, CA or Albuquerque, NM...hahahha
Me: hahahha (I didn’t get the joke though)
VO: So what do you do
Me: I work with so so so and so
VO: For how long?
Me: x years now
VO: Are you married?
Me: Yes
VO: Will your husband be traveling with you?
Me: Sadly no because of work but my mum will be joining me later on.
VO: What does your husband do?
Me: He also works in the same place as I do as so so so and so
VO: What’s your budget for this trip?
Me: $15,000
VO: Have you made any payments?
Me: No I haven’t, I decided to wait till after the interview just in case
VO: Good decision. Do you have an appointment with a doctor and can I see statement showing you can pay for this trip.
Me: Sure...handing him the appointment letter from the doctor’s office, the hospital and doctor’s bills and also my statement of accounts.
VO: Oh great, after reviewing for about a minute. He returned all documents and starts typing for what seemed like forever and then he says...
VO: Your visa has been granted, you can pick up your passport at the address circled after you receive an email or text message for pick up.
Me: Thank you very much.

From time of entry to exit all took about 30minutes. [/quote

Good day gurus in the house, pls someone that was denied on the grounds that she did a letter of change on intent and used the visa for birthing, who reapplies after 5 to 6months with the family(husband ,wife and son). When asked u were here months ago, whats new or what have changed, what will the person answer, knowing that the person is now pregnant for a new baby, which she wasn't by 6months ago when applied earlier and now wants to birth in US again.

Also should she apply alone this time around without hubby and son, knowing they were all given 221g form and all went for interview but were denied that 6months ago.

MiracleMum:
@Lagos US Consulate office

VO: Good morning, nice meeting you - may I have your passport please?
Me: Good morning, my pleasure - sure you may have it.
VO: where in the US do you intend going
Me: Houston Texas
VO: for what purpose?
Me: childbirth
VO: I can see you were here last month, so what has changed now?
Me: Based on the questions the previous VO asked, I deduced she wasn't convinced I had strong ties home to make me return after birthing. So I decided to reapply without my hubby and toddler. Knowing fully well that it's not illegal to birth in the US as long as you can afford it.
VO: how old is your toddler?
Me: 3 years
VO: you had her here in Nigeria so why have you decided to birth your next child in the US?
Me: her birth and survival was a miracle and its not an experience I'd wish to go through again, hence I'm soughting for better health care in the US for my unborn baby.
VO: is that all?
Me: I also want dual citizenship for my baby
VO: DO you have hospital correspondence and acceptance?
Me: yes I do, would you like to see them?
VO: yes please
Me: handed them over, she looked through and kept the documents beside her.
VO: how did you find the doctor and hospital
Me: I checked online, read various reviews and picked out some names and contacts. Requested for their bills for self paid patients, reviewed same before requesting for an acceptance letter.
VO : where would you be staying?
Me: I booked an apartment in downtown houston. Would you like to see the booking reservation?
VO: yes please
VO: what do you do for a living?
Me: I am so and so in so and so company
VO: okay, I can see your husband works in same company
Me: yes, we actually met there and got married
VO: you married your boss?
Me: with a smile. Not my direct boss, though he's one of my bosses
VO: how long have you worked there?
Me: xyz years
VO: and your husband
Me: xyz years
VO: what does he do there?
Me: xyz job function
VO: how much does he earn
Me: xyz amount
VO: DO you have his statement of account here and yours as well
Me: yes I do, would you like to see then
VO: sure, pls pass them over
VO: what's your budget for this trip
Me: 15000$. I do have a budget sheet here, can I pass it to you?
VO: please do
She then types for a long time and brings out a white paper, wrote my name in the space provided at the top and went to the bottom of the paper to circle administrative processing, she then turns to me to explain what she just did and said I'd be sent a mail within 3 working days informing me to come pick up the documents and passport. and then handed over the white paper to me.

It was quite a long interview.
Congratulations, that means ur visa is granted, i tap into this.
