ElRazur: Otawa, one key point you are missing. I am not exactly arguing, but merely presenting an alternative view point. I am not trying to prove anything or argue for or against anything. However, I am asking us to look at things from a different view. Put differently, you stand for nothing, correct? You are not trying to prove anything or argue for or against anything? So, why are you still disagreeing with obvious positions based on facts, logic and common sense? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Hamas Destroying Homes Of Palestines. by Afam(m): 5:08pm On May 20, 2010 |
ElRazur: @Afam
Once again, you are missing the point.
Hamas on this occasion have done exactly what Israel do to Palestine. That and that only is the point I was aiming at making.
Like I mentioned to you in the other thread, both sides are guilty. And I am of the belief that heaping blame on one side will not achieve anything in real life. Just the same way how blaming each sides on this forum, or taking sides on this forum lead to endless bickering over who is wrong and who is right, while the people concerned continues to suffer.
Your post have done nothing but continue the blame game. I will never agree to be wrong just to justify a wrong position you may have taken. When I am wrong I will admit it, certainly not before. When 2 people fight it is almost impossible for the 2 people to be guilty for the fight so stop trying to defend what cannot be defended - all parties are equally guilty - it will not work. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Hamas Destroying Homes Of Palestines. by Afam(m): 4:15pm On May 20, 2010 |
ElRazur: Still on the issue of Hamas, bulldozing buildings etc. I mean, one can present a point that Palestine is reported to be the biggest refugee camp in the world, so how is demolishing the homes of fellow palestine by hamas meant to help? Let us approach thing from a moral point of view for a second. It is reported that there are several blockage and embargo placed on these areas by Israel, and as such building materials are regulated in a tight manner. Surely, the little shelter these people can put together out of their own sweat and blood should be left alone? No? Morally, Hamas acted wrong here.
I mean, Israel do the same thing, but I wonder how many of those who appears to do nothing but take sides see that Hamas is basically doing the same thing? The reason why you continue to wonder is because you have failed to realize the following 1. Isreali actions are meant to humiliate, maim, punish and kill Palestinians. 2. Hamas on the other hand work towards liberating Palestine from the likes of Israel who are bent on taking their lands and punishing them for what the Germans (Europe) did. |

Ikomi: And you think your making sense, your case is pathetic.
The Nigerian Govt. has the right to destroy homes built on Nigerian soil if it think it does not meet the plan of the area just like we have seen done in some areas in Abuja and Lagos, but for the Cameroonian govt., to come destroy Nigerian homes in Calabar, just because we share borders is another case entirely.
You have finally brought your ignorance to fore, accusing Ahmadinajad of issues you cant comprehend.

mbulela: N800m Stolen at THISDAY •7 arrested, 2 on the run 05.19.2010
THISDAY Newspapers has lost over N800 million to fraudsters in the employ of the company. The fraud was perpetrated through the collaboration of Accounting, Audit and Circulation sales staff over the last one year.
The police have arrested seven of the suspects, while two of the ringleaders – Messrs Dirisu Andrew Eshorame from Okpella in Edo State and Sola Popoola from Okemesi in Ekiti State - are at large.
Dirisu was the newspaper’s Kakawa, Lagos Island, Sales Representative, while Popoola was its Sales Auditor at the Account Department. The fraud was carefully carried out by the suspects who had been stealing the organisation’s newspaper sales proceeds using fake bank tellers.
In a petition to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Apapa Police Station, Apapa, Lagos, the organisation’s Managing Director, Mr. Eniola Bello, said: “On Wednesday April 28, 2010 a routine check of the account where our newspaper sales are deposited in GTBank showed some discrepancy in what was sold and what was actually paid in from our Kakawa sales point.”
Bello explained that on getting a query about the discrepancy in the payment, Dirisu quickly paid N1 million two days after he should have deposited the money into the account. Also, Dirisu, Popoola and others paid another N10.8 million, triggering suspicion by senior management.
The suspicion led to investigation which uncovered massive fraud, showing that they had been stealing between N10 - N20 million per week by using fake bank tellers. Furthermore, it was discovered that in Lagos Island alone, N175 million has been stolen from Kakawa sales point since January this year.
Bello therefore requested the police to assist the newspaper in apprehending Popoola, whose last known address was 9 Idowu Williams Street, Off Toyin Bus Stop, Agbado Road Iju Ishaga, Lagos. In addition, the paper’s MD asked the police to apprehend Dirisu whose last known address was 30 Ogunbowale Street, Ilasamaja Lagos.
Bello added that THISDAY believes that both Popoola and Dirisu are in a good position to name others involved in the fraud. The MD also called on members of the public who have information about the suspects to furnish the police with same. Meanwhile, up to seven accounting and sales staff have been arrested and are currently facing questions. Can't these guys put enough measures in place to check, prevent or track any fraudulent activities? |

GenBuhari: @ Afam, It is very interesting to note that you now seem to be defending criminals / drug pushers. It is seems to make sense that you would be opposed to Buhari who is against corruption, criminals and drug pushers. I am not defending criminals neither am I defending drug pushers. I am questioning the very wrong act of executing someone based on laws that never existed at the time the offense was committed. The reason for questioning that action is this - Buhari could wake up one day and choose to execute all the Igbos based on a law that he just created last night. Injustice to one person is injustice to all. As a matter of fact killing someone for a crime that did not attract death penalty at the time of the crime is pure murder. So, while those drug pushers were guilty of pushing drugs Buhari was guilty of murder. I only hope you were Buhari so that you will defend the comment by other generals that Buhari believes that his ideas were always the best even when wrong. I support his position on corruption but certainly not the execution of people who committed an offense that did not carry the death penalty. If we ignore this then people who are accused of fighting may face firing squad under Buhari in future, that is my worry. |

GenBuhari: what democracy did he truncate? The Shagari government. GenBuhari: Do we really have true democracy now? Have we ever had true democracy in Nigeria? Is there anything to show us that you will usher in true democracy in Nigeria? 3 drug pushers were executed based on laws that did not exist and to me that is murder because he could round up Nigerians anytime and execute based on laws that don't exist. Admission of error and apology could suffice in this regard. GenBuhari: When a government is corrupt it ceases to be democratic and it is right and proper that it is made to answer for it is actions. This is exactly what Buhari did when his regime intervened in Dec 1983, to prevent the Shagari administration looting us down to the last kobo. Buhari today is not a soldier so the promises in 1983 may be almost impossible to fulfill today. |

ElRazur: And one of the many reasons, topics like this are getting less and less reply. Again sir, the bigger picture is what am all about with my original point. Wrong again. The only reason why this thread is not getting more replies is because the facts are too glaring and obvious. Did you miss the excuses and justifications given by the US supporters? Some even claimed that using atomic bombs on civilian populations was ok as long as it was the US doing so. I only hope that more and more people will have respect for facts. You are guilty of what you are doing wrong, I am not guilty of the same thing because I have respect for facts and I leave out sentiments when debating any issue. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Us Says It Has 5,113 Nuclear Weapons by Afam(m): 9:05am On May 16, 2010 |
ElRazur: Again another irrelevant post. I was merely highlighting the irony that is ever consistent.
Please point at out how this fits into the point I made originally? Price of tea in china and riots in Thailand. So, the post is irrelevant yet you introduced the issue by talking about countries who disagree with the West and yet are using technologies from the West. Don't you see that you are clearly inconsistent and going round in circles here? You make a statement, a reply is provided and you turn around to claim that the post is irrelevant. Get a mirror and look hard. ElRazur: Speaking of tarring everyone with the same brush, it is a bit ironic that you said "This is the problem with Nigerians". Clearly, my post is my own view and not a representation of Nigerians? But yeah nice one. My mistake, I meant to write some Nigerians. ElRazur: Just in case you are about to miss it again - Both sides are just as guilty as one another. I have noticed, you are an advocate for world peace in some of your post etc. If you really are, I am sure it will make sense to you as to what I am saying in my original post. Unnecessary bickering and what not is just not needed sometimes. And to be honest a waste of bandwidth. Wrong, both sides are not just as guilty as the other. This point will never fly because you want to hide under it to cover up your blunders or wrong positions. Your position is like that of an arrested armed robber who says "yeah, I agree I am an armed robber but all of us are criminals". Such statements won't work here. Why are you diverting attention from the core issue in this post and when the diversions you created are addressed you begin to determine what is relevant and what is not. Stick to the issues or create another thread to discuss your "we are all guilty" position. On this thread, you have been wrong, proven wrong and until you recant those positions of yours you will remain wrong. Stop the diversion. Focus on this thread. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Us Says It Has 5,113 Nuclear Weapons by Afam(m): 8:20am On May 16, 2010 |
ElRazur: Afam one thing that strike me about you is how you are quick to miss the point.
I have stated this is an attempt of highlighting of how both sides have plenty of similarities in common - Although we hardly see this - but you appeared to have missed this and just kept talking about the US.
Look, I have never said anyone is wrong, and to be brutally honest, I am merely drawing how both sides are similar more than the people may or may not realise.
Where is it in my post that it is directed at you or claimed you said something?
It may not work for you, but it do not rule out the observation I made - A very valid one. Thank you very much. This is the problem with Nigerians. You believe your observation is correct and should be accepted. I disagree because you are trying to make it seem that we all argue alike which is incorrect otherwise we will not be doing what we are doing now. On my part, I believe that facts should be respected at all times and wonder when people attempt to argue issues that are glaring and facts. So, I am not missing any point, I am merely emphasizing the obvious since you are just trying to paint everyone with the same brush. ElRazur: Finally, you get people accusing the West of this and that, whist using western made technology - Internet, computers, live in western-influenced type of democracy governed nation etc. It is ironic, but that is human nature for you. This is funny because people who use these technologies pay for them and those that produced them make money selling the technologies so what is the problem here? What makes it right for the US to maim and exterminate the native indians and take their lands and makes it wrong for say Iraq to pay for internet for its own use? |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Us Says It Has 5,113 Nuclear Weapons by Afam(m): 7:47am On May 16, 2010 |
ElRazur: Just to turn the debate on its head and present a broader picture, instead of staying put in one view. Afam let me quote you here to make an explanation - Mind you, it is not a reply to your post.
It is amazing how if we turn around the tables, what will happen. Heck let's do that:
You know sometimes I get to wonder if these people do not understand what they are doing to themselves when they try to defend the indefensible just because Iran is involved.
For example, Iran supports hamas strategically to wage proxy war in Israel. Their president - Ahmadenajad - is on record denying the Holocaust etc Yet some people in here will claim those things are false and it is all media fabrication by the west. "Even when the facts are both clear and glaring you still get to see someone trying to turn logic on its head".
It is amazing how a simple twist in words is applicable to both sides of the debate isn't? If we sometimes see beyond our own views and perhaps share the views of others, we may just realise that we are not too far apart to be honest.
Finally, you get people accusing the West of this and that, whist using western made technology - Internet, computers, live in western-influenced type of democracy governed nation etc. It is ironic, but that is human nature for you.
My two cents. Just in case no one is getting my point, let me re-explain. When it comes to issue like this, each side are just as guilty as the other. There really isn't much difference if we can only see the wider picture. This is not an attempt to debate with anyone, but to shed light on some of the things we tend to miss that end up leading to endless bickering.
Peace to both sides jare. I'm out. Nice try but it won't work. Just because your position is obviously wrong doesn't mean everyone is wrong and admitting to being wrong does not translate to other people being wrong. Stop generalizing and address issues as they come. For the records I have never stated that Iraq does not support Hamas as there is nothing wrong in supporting Hamas as I see Hamas as a freedom fighting organisation. So, Hamas, Hezbollah etc gets support from countries that are sympathetic to their courses just as US supports and arms Israel. So, facts are facts and they don't change so I will be stupid arguing against a fact. There is no fact to prove that Iran is planning to acquire nuclear weapons. There is a fact to prove that the US used atomic bombs on 2 civilian populations in the past so it is more dangerous for the US to own nuclear weapons than for other nations they call axis of evil. There is a fact to prove that US lied to the world about Iraq's WMD program and used this lie to illegally invade Iraq, today people are still dying and peace (that was there under Saddam) remains elusive. Need I go on? |

Yes, there are fanatics would might want to cause mayhem in this world but the U.S is the worst culprit. Save me! I am just voicing out what I think may happen, I did not say it will happen for sure.
Prevention is far far better than cure!
Save me! And the prevention is for the deputy governor to be removed so that only a muslim will become governor if the current governor becomes VP? Does this your prevention make any sense even to you? As a matter of fact if the muslims refuse to allow the deputy governor to take over it will be a good sign that will help in the case for a possible break up. The problem here is that a lot of us are pure hypocrites and sycophants.
I have never supported anything Biafra after the war or MASSOB today because Biafra ended in 1970 and the then Eastern region has been balkanized into states that belong to different ethnic nationalities.
MASSOB as it is today will also not work because we have Igbo House of Reps members, Senators, Ministers and Governors in the same Nigeria.
These are my views and I am bold enough to have them so when silly tribal bigots come here and try to manipulate statements to read what their hate filled hearts want I will address them accordingly.
Or, are some people ashamed of their tribes on this forum? |
