I am a product of Divine Grace and Mercy. I can state categorically that is is only God, through the sonship and Lordship of Jesus Christ that gave me this victory. Immediately i got my Ph.D full funding letter, someone introduced me to this platform for me to learn how to go about the visa application. I came here and i started reading as much as i could and i thank God and all the gurus on this platform.

Admission : Fully funded Ph.D at the University of Toronto Canada & Fully funded Ph.D at the Mississippi State University, United States of America. ( I decided to accept that of U of T and dropped that of Mississippi State University)

I stood as my own sponsor and i submitted my savings account balance of 400k and my salary account of 50k - Making 450k. In June, i resent additional proof of funds - My savings account bacame - 800k & Salary account - 90k.

Home Ties : My family members! Two siblings & Mother and Father. 2. University of Ibadan guaranteed employment letter after Ph.D. my Dean of the Faculty of Arts worked that out and issued it. 3. Pictures of family members.

The Wait : From March 1, I started waiting - First ghost update, Second, third & Fourth. No final decision. July 21 - My graduate administrator sent me a letter of visa file expedition and i sent to the embassy. Still no show till then.

Next Move - Daily emails to nairobi at least 4 times per day and webforms twice per week.

BVL & PPR - September 8, 2021.
School resumed - September 7, 2021.

Lessons Learnt - Don't forget God and keep praying. He has the Master Key that opens all ways. Beg him for his grace and mercy and keep doing good for other people. He is a good God, he loves us and wants the best for us. As you keep sending the mails and webforms, keep telling God about it and in the end you will see that - "Oluwatobiloba" No King as God. As a Christians believe in God and Jesus and Keep calling him. As Muslims, believe in the Khalimatu - Al - Shadah that stresses the oneness of Allah and the messengership of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) If you are a traditionalist believe only in " Olodumare" and not gods and spirits. The best will surely come !! God bless you all. We all are going to the maple land. What God cannot do, does not exist.

The wait was really daunting and exhausting. At some points, I was overwhelmed and doubting my application - It was after I submitted my application I join this thread, then, I began to raise webforms and SHOOTING EMAILS to Nairobi to further fine tune my application based on the recommendation and advice from the gurus here. More so, I PRAYED AND FASTED so that the VOs should overlook my mistakes�

As at this time last year, I cant imagine that I could be at this level, in fact, I was about giving up on scholarship after receiving several love letters from Professors. Then, I give it another trial this year—I am heading to UBC for a PhD program with funding. (B.Tech 2014; MSc 2019).

To God be thy glory.
Great is thy faithfulness.

To all PPR Hopefuls: You will get it very soon by the grace of God—Your labour will not be in vain. The mercy and the favour of God will envelope your application. God in His infinite mercies will cover your mistakes and color your efforts. The joy will go round. We all testify to the goodness of God and his name will be magnified. I want to ask. If someone gets visa approved after the commencement of the fall session. Would such a person still going to be able to travel ? After starting classes online ? Eg. Classes began September and gets approval october or November, can the person book flight immediately and travel ?

This application looks to be super solid. Anyway, lets wait for your gcms notes. However, in your SOP did you explain how your wife and kids are going to cope in your absence. That is, the financial arrangements for them. Secondly, is your wife employed? Anyway, lets wait for the notes.

This is painful with full funding.
However, i am not a guru but i have some little contributions.

1. Purpose of visit : " Does your bachelors degree or masters degree field align with your Phd field"? If not, is it in line with your work history ?
2. What did you use as home ties to Nigeria ? Cos the fact that your EA wasnt approved might raise a question that you wouldnt have left UK in the first instance if your EA application was approved ?
3. Your italian bank account are your sure its a verifiable account that would'nt raise authenticity question with IRCC as far as interprétation and analysis is concerned?.
4. Are you currently employed or run your own business no matter how little. ?

5. Hope you took your time to expantiate on the EA application in your SOP? I mean why it failed and why you decided to pursue graduate studies in canada now at the moment.?

Hello, I need advice, please. I am going for a PhD and did my MSc in the UK. While in the UK, I applied for my study permit before returning to Nigeria. However, when my eligibility started, my resident permit in the UK had already expired. They then requested for a whole lot of documents - proof of funds, reference letter from school, etc.
Today, I received a rejection and I am confused as to the reason. However, I want to reapply and so I need advice. Here are a couple of things to note.
1. I have a scholarship of 25kCAD per year (My school fee is about 19k/year) and a one-time scholarship of 10KCAD for the first year. I also have the opportunity to apply for a teaching assistantship in the remaining years.
2. I have a personal bank statement of 10k euros (about 15k CAD) in my Italian bank account.
3. I left the UK after my resident permit had expired. This was because I was granted an exceptional assurance (EA) to stay for an extra month due to covid and was given the opportunity to reapply. I reapplied but their reply came only when the previous exceptional assurance had expired. According to UK rules, you are not deemed illegal when you have a pending EA application. So when the rejection came I was given 14 days to leave the UK and so I left in 10 days. So legally, I was never an overstayer in the UK.
4. I didn't sit for IELTS because my school didn't need it for my application. I sat for it in 2019 but it has expired. In fact, I am only hearing it on this forum as it is not a thing when applying from the UK.

I will need advise from experts on how to proceed.
How can I prove that I will return?

I pray you get a positive decision before monday. However, if by chance you would go for follow ups on monday. Kindly raise a concern for all Nigerian students for fall 2021. At least they should be able to tell you the factors responsible for the delay and emphasize that most schools are resuming September. God bless our hustle. Thumbs up for your doggedness and courageous attempt to visit their office.

We promised, I visited Canada embassy in Nairobi today. I told them about my school resuming on September 5 and how much I need a decision soon. I gave them.my passport and application number and after checking I was told to expect a mail before weekend and if I don't, I should come for a follow up on Monday.

Application declined 18th August 2021.
Timeline:
Application submitted April 26th 2021 (PhD with full funding). Also submitted my personal bank statement (not MBS).
NSE request May 7. Ignored it and went with normal route.
Upfront medical passed june 25th.
Eligibility review always read "in progress..."

Reason for refusal: We are not convinced you will be able to pay the tuition fee. Also, you do not have sufficient finance for your accompanying family member to Canada.

P.S: My full funding covered both tuition and monthly expenses. I also submitted my account statement indicating that I can pay for my miscellaneous expenses. I did not include that anyone is accompanying me. Infact in my IMM form, I specifically selected "no" to this question.
Obviously, they did not do a thorough review.
I'm awaiting my notes.
