I honestly agree with your analysis. I really do not trust the western media and what they report about Nigeria and Africa In general. They never report our successes of progress but they are quick to show the world how 'backward' our continent is.

But how else can we get the world to focus on all the ill activities going on in government and top echelons of the Military. I honestly believe our soldiers are ill-equipped and are not mentally & financially motivated enough to fight this war. If a soldier is being sent on a mission where he knows his enemies are not looking to take any prisoners, he should be given the very best of weapons to fight the enemy. Its a shame what we do to ourselves in this country.

Also take for example the Armed forces remembrance day held yesterday. Did you notice just how our so called elites and the general citizenry did not pay respect or show any concerns for the soldiers who have laid down their lives for this country? I usually ask myself, is it that most people are not informed or they are just not bothered?

This BH insurgency got to this stage ONLY because GEJs administration did not ACT early enough. He and his team kept pointing fingers of accusation at the opposition rather than to CRUSH the insurgents at the early stage. If a less corrupt government is at the centre, you will surely see several more automotive assembly plants springing up across the south east. With less corruption and better security even in the north, investor confidence would be boosted in Nigeria as a whole and more foreign investors would surely troop down into the south east to tap into the juicy business environment of Nigeria.

NISSAN, FORD and TOYOTA would surely love to have a plant in Nigeria but due to the percieved insecurity and corrupt business environment (especially by govt officials demanding cutbacks), these companies have been very wary of investing a kobo in Nigeria and have kept away. The story of Virgin Nigeria and the shocking words of Richard Branson when he pulled away from Nigeria is still fresh in our minds. @all. I have asked severally for details of obs/gyn in Chicago but no one is this thread has been able to help with that information. I am requesting specifically for OBS/GYN in Chicago because this is where we have relatives and my Wife can stay there while she is in the US.

Invitation letter will also be provided by relatives in Chicago.
However, I have made contacts with doctorespirati.com El Paso TX and Dr Fagbohun in Houston TX and they have both agreed to take my wife on when she gets to the US.
If asked I Intend to declare that purpose of travel is for both tourism and child birth. My wife will birth our Child in the US and also visit relatives.
That brings me to my main question: If we take these details of correspondence & appointment with a doctor in Houston to the Embassy and the Visa is granted and then choose to proceed to Chicago to birth the baby, will this be a problem at the POE in Chicago? Or we should jejely make Houston our POE and then take a local flight to Chicago.

Dear experts kindly share your opinion on this. I am yet to fill out the visa application and i want to be careful not to make any costly mistake.
My wife is currently in her 17th week and time is running out.

1. My wife has relatives in Chicago and so we intend to have our baby over there. Can anyone please provide details of a good hospital with
reasonable charges (Budget is $7000 for medical expenses)
2.My wife is a first time applicant with a virgin passport. I do not intend to apply at the same time with her as this might be a red flag at the embassy. I will be sponsoring all the travel and medical expenses and I will get all necessary documents from my place of work.
3. We intend to declare at the embassy that my wife is pregnant and purpose of travel is for child birth and we have adequate funds to cover for all medical expenses incurred
4.When will it be too late to travel?

The reason was ' Your intention to leave member state before visa expiry could not be ascertained'. I was quite surprised because we submitted all necessary documents. Including introduction letters from our work places and clearly stating the dates of our leave and when we are resuming back at work.
However, i believe the decision for refusal was based on a mistake i made on the hotel bookings. I have written an appeal to this regard, see excerpt below:
However, I believe the decision for Visa refusal must have been based on discrepancies between departure dates on flight reservations and hotel bookings. Departure date from France on flight reservation is 18th of August 2014 while departure date from Hotel reservation is 20th of August 2014. This was a honest mistake on my part as initial travel date was between 10th-20th of August 2014 and this was the time hotel reservations were made. However, flights for these dates were quite expensive and we had to change travel dates to 10th-18th August 2014 at a better price. After flight reservations were confirmed, I forgot to change departure dates on hotel reservation and proceeded to submit Visa applications to the France Consulate-General through the VFS Visa application center.

I believe the French embassy could have easily contacted the applicant in a situation where there is a minor clarification to made on an application rather than blatantly refusing.

Also, while returning our passports, a wrong applicant name (a different surname entirely) was written on the visa refusal form that was returned to me, while the one returned to my wife had her name written correctly.
I have sent an email to the French consulate on Friday but i haven't gotten a response yet. I hope they respond by tomorrow. Depending on their response tomorrow, I will decide whether to continue with the appeal process or send a fresh application.

My major headache is that i have paid for my flight and its non-refundable so i have left the ticket open for now.
