@Gbawe

Loool. . . You just cracked me up with all the brouhaha you spewed. Every bit of what i wrote is very true! Well, I wrote am not full Ghanaian or Nigerian as I've got other groupings in me. . . so whats your problem with that? So any other person who's objective enough to rebuke the negative vibes from 9ja is a Ghanaian? What do you think caused the xenophobic quandary in Sud Africa against mostly Nigerians? That negative traits that inherents most Nigerians caused that! Try as much as you want to shy away from that truth but most Nigerians and that traits are like pregnancy, not matter how you try to conceal it, it shall surley rear its ugly head!

I remeber about 5 years ago in the UK when I was a new recruit in a certain company. My line manager and 2 colleagues came upto asked where I was from. They said they couldn't make me out cos I looked a bit different. Immediately I mentioned my origin, they were like oh thats why you behave and look different. It was then  they told me they had worked with some Nigerians and they were loud mouthed, aggressive and all that! I had to correct them not associate such traits with all Nigerians. So you see most Nigerians lay their own bed and they obviously got to sleep in int! Don't act as the ostrich, mate.

Did you just write Ghanaians are ingrates? Well, I could care less about that! But hey, from where i stand that isn't the case. Ghanaians are definitely appreciative of things and if anything, its the other way round.

Now, what you wrote about the BRT programme is awfully laughable!! As i said earlie, Ideas are like kids, every parent to his/her own. Whats all the fuss about the KFC and the Investment Promotion Body stuff? Well, those were never mentioned in my rebuttal, so where you plucked that from, i wonder!
Could you mention to us any Ghana government official that sought the BRT idea from Fashola? I was wondering where Fashola got the BRT idea from, oh was it from the UK, Germany Swiss or probably France?   Ideas are like Viruses, my friend, IDEAS ARE LIKE VIRUSES!  Even if Ghanaian officials came to understudy that project, was it a taboo? I guess not! And what has that got to do with Ghanaians enforcing their regulations?

BTW, I have got better things to do with my time so am not coming back on this topic. . .   Have a good day!
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 12:49am On Sep 12, 2010
@ Gbawe

Describing myself?! You Gbawe and loads of Nigerian folks believe that most things revolves around you. Reality check my broda. . . Absolutely nothing revolves around you. Well, am neither full Ghanaian nor Nigerian but have been around loads of Ghanaians and Nigerians to notice that Nigerians always 'Big up' themselves wherever they happen to be. Ignorance, Pompousness and Arrogance is the order of the day when it comes to most Nigerians!  Do you think the problems Nigerians had and continue to have in Sud Africa is by coincindence? Most Nigerians got stinking attitudes and that needs to be curtailed.

Well, I haven't been on this board for that long but have realised that anything Ghana on this board irks you Gbawe, and you're always on it like a flea, and that is despicable to say the least. Look, Mr., Ghanaians are enforcing their law and that regulation is not perculiar to Nigerians alone. It behoves all foreigners on that land to adhere to that regulation and that include personnel from the ECOWAS states. If you perceive Nigerians are being victimised then am sorry, as I said earlier, you must be living on cloud-cuckoo-land! Stop being delusional and realise that that law applies to other nationals as well.

On the subject of the BRT scheme and asking whether I even know about that programme smarks mischief. It  sparks arrogance from you. How long has the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) scheme (called Bus Lanes and Bus garages in London) in existence for in London? There's a saying that 'Ideas are Like Kids' Its never unique in it sense, bros! So did you copy that BRT idea from somewhere else?  Now get a grip my bruv. . . I even shy 4 u bringing this BRT scheme into this rebuttal. Could you name me any official that might have come to Lagos to copy that BRT scheme idea from Fashola?  That programme is very prevalent in Europe so I wonder how you arrived at that conclusion. . .

Did I just reads that?! Dude, don't big up ya self! You mean to tell us Ghana government solicit ideas from Fashola? Loool. . . you must be living in cloud cuckoo-land!

@princekevo

Even the almighty EU, and that is what made them the strongest regional union in the world today with even single, but a stronger currency to make trade easier within the member nation.
UK felt they are stronger economically and otherwise than other nation under this union and the refused to be part of the union as such exempted from all its benefits.

Naivety is like pregnancy, surely it would manifest itself!  You lot rather stop behaving like kids and reason out clearly! Face realities! And who said UK is not part of the EU? So you think since they're not using the same currency they're not member of the EU States? Loool

And who said they opted out cos they deemed their economy to be stronger? FYI, the 2 economically largest and strongest EU nations are Germany and France, and they even are part and parcel of the EU.

@ Londoner
Oh yes, i did see the laws being enforced on other nationals but not to the point of arrest. . . .  The only reason why some of the bros were arrested was that the same folks kept coming back after they've been told to move biz. Those who don't have that capital are told to come together, pull their resources together and start a valid biz. Simples! Ghanaians are not hating on 9jas. . .
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 12:31pm On Sep 11, 2010
@ Londoner

Lol. . .  I didn't know you're a woman. Sorry about that. Anyway, The other foreigners are also being asked to either combine their resources as well. Its not Naija folks alone. Its only 9ja folks crying wolf and trying to make it that they're been stigmatised. I was in Ghana 6 weeks ago and truss, its not only visited on Nigerians. Its just that 9ja happens to have the largest number of its populates there.

Well, as for the glo stuff, am not privy or conversant with that story so i can't comment on that.

BTW, am nether full 9ja nor Ghanaian as am from both worlds(9ja, Ghana and other groupings as well) Lol . . .  so you can't say am being baised.
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 12:03pm On Sep 11, 2010
Chei! Some of these Nigerian bros are as arrogant as phuck!  cheesy

@ Londoner
you know as well as I do that, petty traders in Ghana from other neighbouring countries are HIGHLY UNLIKELY to have paid $300,000 so who are you trying to kid here?

Excuse me! Kidding? Mr., Its up to the other neighbouring countries to enact and implement their own laws.

Noone is saying they should not shut up shop to those who have not obeyed the rule, ofcourse they should, but if you are honest with yourself and us here, you know they are using it to discriminate specifically against Nigerians, the same way that Glo, who has obeyed the law have been targeted simply because they are a Nigerian company. It should apply to ALL, not just Nigerians in PRACTICE.

Discriminate against Nigerians? How so? Aren't other foreigners in Ghana as well? Stop the me me me syndrome!

As far as who commits stabbing in Uk against Blacks, it may be Blacks but the majority violent crimes in the Uk are committed by Whites, and this stop and search policy has been in place long before the recent spate of Black on Black knife crime, so your point is actually an untruth. I know, I was born and raised in the UK and the statistics have always shown a disproportionate application of the law, where stop and search is concerned.

lipsrsealed Well, i wasn't born in the UK but have lived there long enough to notice that though blacks are searched most, whites are also searched. I have seen white folks being serached before so your argument doesn't hold water. Are you sure proportionally the crime rate (stabbings) reflect the true demographic figures/settings? Come again.

londoner:

@Monkeyleg, if the story was that Nigeria was doing the same to Ghanaian traders in Nigeria, would you not be saying how wicked the Nigerian government are to be doing it?

I do agree with you that Nigerians, whether business is big or small should pull out of Ghana, including the banks etc. They dont deserve the investment or job creation.

Pleeeasse! Don't delude yourself, mate!
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 11:05am On Sep 11, 2010
princekevo:

For you to say Ghana give no hoot abt the Ecowas Treaty is like rulling out the benefits of regional organisations as ECOWAS which is obtained in every part of the world. If Ghana can not respect that agreement, they should be sanctioned from ECOWAS. When that happens, Ghana will then know 'no man is Island'.

Was such requirement supposed to include ECOWAS members? I asked you a question which you failed to answer. What happens to the free visas giving to Ghana by all Ecowas memeber states, what happens to Ghanians having shops, in Togo, cotouno, Nigeria etc without restriction? Will they also be required to produce $300,000 before registering such business, or do you think these countries has no minimum requirements for other nationals other ecowas member?
You mean to tell me that a Togolese or Nigerian who want to open a small shop for selling bags must produce $300,000 before such business can be registered, while Ghanaian can do same in other ECOWAS nation without any restriction. Who is fulling who?
Jst that we have a useless governement that does not care for its citizens. if not Nigeria should influnce the sanction of Ghana from ECOWAS, lets see how that goes with them.

What question did you ask again? Oh yes, that restriction is supossed to include all foreigners including national of the ECOWAS member states. Well, Togo, Nigeria and for that matter, any country can also tighten their trade restrictions to reflect that of Ghana's.

Infact, the writer of this article/story should be ashamed of himself/herself for making this story come out as baise against Nigerians alone. Majority of Nigerians including this writer needs to pull their heads out of the sand and realise everything is not about them.
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 10:18am On Sep 11, 2010
londoner:

@Africason, you say this applies to all foreign owned business including Togo, Liberian etc. Oh really? Please provide me with the links to the stories of the same described above happening to all those foreigners in Ghana, or alternatively where they have all since paid $300,000. You know as well as I do that the law is being used to target Nigerians.

Just like in the Uk, police have stop and search laws which "technically" apply to all, but in PRACTICE they are used to discriminate against young Black boys. I do think even so, they have a right to enforce their law, and that Nigerians should divest their money from Ghana as soon as possible.

1. Target Nigerians? Really?! Why is everything about Nigeria? huh? The other nationals have got nothing to report because they come with the required capital to set up their businesses unlike many of these my Nigerian folks who who are doing petty trading! I read somewhere the Ghanaian minister of trade advising those who believe would get the required amount to pull their resources together, reach that amount and start something.

They already have enough petty trader in Ghana and thus don't want the country to be infested with more of these petty trading stuff! If you want to do business in Ghana, then get serious and come with that much capital or 'on ya bike mate'! Simple as that! Nigeria can also enforce such laws if they want. They've got legitimate Nigerian businesses in Ghana, which have not been touched because they've met the laws.

And oh, about the search and stop analogy you made. . . which ethnic minority group are noted for social vices? Go read the statistics how many blacks have been stabbed by blacks in the 6 years and you'll get the picture.
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 12:41am On Sep 11, 2010
princekevo:

My Fren go read the terms and agreement of ECOWAS which Ghana was signatory to and a member, before you come here to spew rubbish. Almost all the country in the world needs visa to Nigeria except ECOWAS member states. How would ECOWAS member nations feel when they grant us free visas to their country and we rule them together under the same visa requirement with EU, American, and Asian nationals?
Ghana nationals are enjoying the free trade agreement in other ECOWAS Member nations, then in return ruling the same member nations together with other foreigner nationals in their new trade policy. Does that make any sense to you? If Ghana is ruling us together with other foreign nationals they should withdraw their membership from Ecowas lets see how they can survive alone within the ECOWAS region.

Dude, get off your high horses and reason clearly! Do you think the Ghanaians give a hoot about the ECOWAS treaty? In anyway, this is called protectionism if you don't know. . . They are doing it to every other national regardless of you being an ECOWAS member state or not. I believe they are asking for any individual or group of individuals wanting to do business in Ghana to have like $300,000 capital to qualify.

Folks can pull their resources together and reach that sum quite easily. . .
Business / Re: Ghanaian Authorities Shut Nigerian Shops, Make Arrests by Africason(m): 3:08pm On Sep 10, 2010
Very sad indeed, but why is this story being made to be like the Ghanaian authorities are victimisingd the Nigerians? Look, that law was inacted to sometime ago to check all foreign entities and not Nigerians alone!

Its for any biz foreign including that of Liberians, Togolese, Nigerians, Indians and all all things foreign. . . Please lets stop this bull crap as if they are targeting Nigerians businesses alone. . .

Sneaky, Sneaky Shesi you are back again with your fronting and sneakiness. Its is  Ghana people who have bad belly and are extremely jealous people they are usually talking bad about Nigerians to any foreigners who care to listen, I have also heard them cussing Togo, Angola etc.  You know it is true so do not hide behind your screen trying to overturn received wisdom
For the most part Nigerians do not care about other Africans we’re not into criticising or bad mouthing other African usually it is other Africans who join the European bandwagon in cussing Nigerians.

Nigerians often defend Africans and black people but all we have received towards us is badmouth so we are beginning to learn. Once upon a time, I would have been jumping for Ghana to win because they are a black team but now I’m not bothered. I can’t speak for all Nigerians but in my circles Ghana is far away Cameroon is nearer in terms of foot-balling rivalry.

To prove you are lying, I  challenge you or anyone to go compare Ghanaians site/ articles to Nigerian sites/articles. If you did so, you will see that Ghanaians are obsessed with Nigeria and Nigerians but Nigerians only care about Nigeria.

Immediately Ghana realized most of their regulars(1. M.Essien, 2. Muntari, 3. Appiah, 4. Pantsil, 5. John Mensah, 6. L. Kinston, 7. Annan, 8. Agogo) were not going to be at the ACON, they were wise enough to draft in 7 of those victorious U-20 team to bloody them for the future!

These are the names of the Seven U-20 drafted into the full Ghana team with 4 of them regularly making the first 11 in this tourney and 1 as sub thus far:

1. Inkoom
2. Agyeman badu
3. Opoku Agyeman
4. Ayew
5. Adiyah
6. Osei
7. The second GK(I forgot his name)

So you see, instead of Naija drafting some of the younger players and blooding them for the future, they chose to to stick with these lazy fat slobs! Ghana is giving its young ones experience inorder for them to step up to the plate when need be. FUTURE, FUTURE folks!

Of course he has to deny it. His superiors advised him to for the sake of his career. Put yourself in the same position. Can't say I blame him. What would you do if you were in his shoes?

The coach never said he gave the 'phone' to Dede Ayew when he was preparing to take his penalty. How could that be possible? The guy was on the field so how could he have received a phone call? Further, Ayew also said he never SPOKE to anybody and it was only after the match the he heard there was someone called TB Joshua who was praying for them. What don't you understand?
