afam4eva: Every state in the US will make a prosperous country because they're semi-autonomous as it is presently. But for some reason it's downright weird that people who have no clear distinction will want to go their own way. How will they be able to differentiate a New Yorker from a Texan? How about the fact that a lot of Americans claim the state where they were born rather than where their parents are from? I just don't see this working. It's even more realistic for the US to make Puerto-Rico an authentic US state just like Hawaii in 1950 than to divide the country. Even Mexico stands a chance pf being part of the US.
