BlueRayDick: I served 14/15.
Yes, I didn't get any support from home while I was serving because I stayed for months at home before NYSC and by that time I was already fending for myself as omo boy on the streets.
I served in the core north, I didn't travel to the South all through my service year (so I saved money off unnecessary travel expenses) and I don't eat much. I also don't feed other corpers off my allawee . I was financially displined although I dey drink black bullet steady once in a while when allawee drop.
I served in a village tho and there wasn't any luxury I could spend money on.
But the crux of the matter is : food was relatively cheap. Funny enough, the school I served had boarding facilities and we as teachers had privilege to request for food from dining hall , but I am not really into Hausa food so I didn't explore that route. Other corpers who did probably saved more than I do.
There was one mountain of fire Yoruba babe wey we dey get alignment wey dey always come inside my room to collect my sardines while she dey send her allawee to her mama to keep for her. The day I clear her ehn, she shock say shey na because of sardines I dey halla Alignment?

BlueRayDick: Thank you doc for saying the bolded the way it is. We have a culture of preparing a fertile ground for oppression to germinate among the citizenry ; that's why citizens will always justify callous decisions taken by people in government even if such decisions will not favor the citizens in any way.
I mean how can a government that has consistently agreed that there is hardship in the country suddenly give people 3 month ultimatum to develop lands and the citizens start justifying their actions? Maybe because the common man feels only the elite will be affected and they deserve it. Abi? Everybody who has the opportunity practices some form of oppression in Nigeria. Gatemen at parastatals, bank tellers, real estate agents insisting on outlandish fees before showing you the prospective property (that they already know does not match your criteria), landlords, your boss at work (not even the top dawg o but just ordinary supervisor), the people that issue registration cards at government hospitals, plus anybody and everybody that you have to pass through to get a document, job, or money. We just dey oppress ourselves. That is the reason why people will see tyranny and call it "action governance". |

Check the following for afrodoc profile na f full ground. Unlimited 22 calibre dey follow 95% m. You are minimizing the tough and thankless job of mentoring young women and pouring wealth of knowledge into them. This is why i stopped it. One hustles and sweats all day and all night, going up and down and back and forth, mentoring and molding future women leaders, and yet all one gets is calumniation, vituperation, condemnation, and defamation. It is a cold world we are living in. |

GloriousGbola: No chief na your bias dey talk here
A lot of people just buy land in Abuja for speculation. Some even build with the same intent on. Build and then sell when you need money. Abuja is full of empty edifices
No way a company like Julius Berger does not have the resources to build on land they have owned for 20 years. In fact imho they had that land as a planned gift to a politician for contract. 3-month ultimatum is still madness. Some people struggled and hustled to buy land last year and this year before the economy ran them down. So, they should lose their land now because they can't develop it in 3 months, in this economy? We have a culture of oppression in Nigeria that is not only seen in government to citizen interaction but also citizen to citizen interaction. Oppression has been normalized in the country. Dat na why blatantly oppressive actions are being justified. What he should do is carry out thorough investigations and treat each case on its own merit, not carry out a disguised land grab/fundraising venture. |

BlueRayDick: It is not a threat but an advice . Some of us know senior men who have been unable to move ahead because of educational qualification barrier .
Some of us have friends who currently regret they didn’t see their academic program through because we see openings we wished we can recommend them but they do not have the qualification .
We simply don’t want him to be in such awkward position in the future . We are talking from naija point of view and not abroad where educational qualification doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things in the labour market .
In naija , even if u make money without education , u will still be encouraged to take educational qualification in the future when it will be harder for you. Education open ur path to a world of unlimited opportunities . Even when u want to relocate from this country , emigrating as an educated person sets u apart from those emigrating as unskilled labour . He is 1 year away from graduation. Based on statistics and factoring strikes of different types, he must have spent 4-5 years already on the program. It would be unwise to abandon the project now when the completion date is so near, cos that would mean he pretty much wasted the last half decade of his life. Unless there is a sure banker million-dollar deal waiting for him right now sha. |

BlueRayDick: Sometimes u have a contingency plan and it almost fails .
I once had an online job interview which nearly went south due to NEPA wahala . I took the day-off from work that day and decided I will take the interview in my parlor .
I was very sure we would have light throughout the duration of the interview because we usually have light from around 6am till maybe 3pm. Notwithstanding, I still arranged fuel inside gen in case of any yawa.
I had already knotted my tie on my sparkling white shirt . I was seated in front of my laptop giving myself the die minute mental boost 10 minutes to the interview ; na so NEPA strike .
I quickly rushed down stairs to fire the generator , the moment I got back upstairs the gen just tripped off. I went back downstairs fired the gen again and within 2 minutes it was off. I wan craze .
I was literally speaking to my generator like an animate object “ iwo gen yi o de Jo now “ ( This gen abeg na ) 😁
Somehow the gen heard me and just started working properly . By the time I got back upstairs to settle down , the interview time had already gone by 15 minutes . I was lucky the interviewers had more than one candidate to attend to. So they had already started with another candidate while I waited in the lobby . Eventually I did well at the interview but everything could’ve gone south when agent NEPA struck . Na you wan wound yourself. You get interview wey depend on electricity for Naija and you dey depend on NEPA/PHCN? Me, i dey very paranoid about things like that. I go don put on the gen at least 15 mins before the interview and relax to use it. One kind of story that i hate most in my life is stories that touch. |

What I will surely blame NFF for is not expecting and planning for the Libyan payback. Anybody who has been following ball from way back could have told them for free that Libya will deal with them, whether the PH-Uyo debacle was incompetence or malicious intent. |
