How did you do it?

It means other positions will be players from 3.5m
I still had Douglas Luiz and Mbeumo. My bench was weak and i spent less on defenders and GKs.

It worked some weeks and backfired in other weeks.

This is where you are getting it wrong..

A broke country have no relationship with pilgrimages nor 1 billion 4 a committee..

You tend to absorb their excuses of being broke but on the other hand forget their spendings.

Do you know that the money spent on Remi's and the senates would do much more in reducing the prices of essential commodities thru subsidy...huh
You just agreed with him then said he is getting it wrong? cheesy

Nah.. it's not possible. You can't have Haaland, Son and Salah in the same team.... Unless you want to fill the other positions with below average players.
I had Salah, Haaland, Son in the same team, and still had Saka, Saliba, Alvarez as well.

The wife of an ex governor

But we need 1.5 billion to buy cars for her.

Then this same person will tell you that we don't have money to subsidize anything, and a poor, hungry Nigerian like me will swallow it and run with it like his life depends on it.

SMH[/color]
Let us assume the wife was a nonentity before becoming the first lady, what happened to all the cars used by the previous first lady? Or were they using camel to move around that time? cheesy

Konate was always the better defender.
I know.

afrodoc2:
Meanwhile Upamecano quietly served a disasterclass in the 2nd half of last night's game. I read an article from a Bundesliga journalist last season in which he suggested that Konate was the better defender though less lauded.

Doc are you following Charlie Savage progress in the Championship? I know United sold him, i like the lad and want him to excess so we can bring him back someday..
Savage is in League One not the Championship. I don't think he is good enough. He has a very good passing range with his left foot but ultimately his lack of athletic ability (pace in particular) means he won't be able to cope at the highest level.

To make it at the top level you need to be dominant at the academy level and must not be severely lacking in a specific physical attribute. He comes short on both accounts.

ETH just must go. Rashy ain't in form, yet you keep playing him week in, week out. Garnacho is playing nonsense too but still better than Antony.....sigh.

I hope ZeroHag can get the courage to play Amad on the right and Garnacho on the right. I have seen enough of Rashy, he ain't gonna perform this season. Dude has switched off completely.
We should sell Rashford to PSG to replace Mbappe.

I dont think he meant same game pattern, but same level of quality even as a CDM or a proper CAM. Because Bruno and Casemero will be the end of us.
To be determined. As CDM Finley McAllister (2nd year) and Devaney (1st year), as CM (Fitzgerald (1st year), as CAM Fletcher and potentially Lacey (both 1st year). Lacey is a RW but i think moving centrally might serve him best because he lacks elite pace. Then we have Ibragimov who is still a school boy.

MUTV has stopped showing the Under-21s so it is hard to judge what is going on with Shoretire (who has been very prolific this season) or Collyer.

Having said all that, none of them has shown me the quality Mainoo did in the academy. So, the answer is still no if we are talking quality rather than pattern. Some of the 1st year scholars might prove me wrong next season sha.

Meaning we have to go to the market to get replacements for Casemiro, Eriksen and Bruno...
Definitely. For one we can't just pack teenagers in midfield and also our best midfielders are 15-16yr olds.

Afrodoc do we have any midfielder like Mainoo coming through the ranks?
Like Mainoo? No.

There are some good first year scholars like Fletcher, Fitzgerald, Devaney who have some quality, but their profiles are very different from that of Mainoo. McAllister is a good 2nd year scholar but i have seen enough of him to know that he is a pure CDM and not Mainoo's level at all.

Rashford is another case, he looks out of sync with others around him. He should be benched so that he can have time to think if he wants to continue playing football.
Rashford will retire early. I don't think he likes football like that. It was just an avenue to escape poverty. Once his pace deserts him he will down tools.

Our players are not comfortable on the ball at all. They just can't position themselves to receive the ball and exchange simple passes among themselves.

Casemiro should be subbed off at halftime.

We have a new TD? I am hearing this for the first time.

Yes, we seem to be making the right moves at the right time.
Not finalised yet but it seems certain to happen. He is currently DoF at Southampton but his major success was with the City Academy where he was director.

I suspect that he will focus more on the youth development side of things while Ashworth deals with the first team and transfers. His appointment will have 2 implications, which are that Paul Mitchell will probably not be coming now and that Nick Cox our Academy Director (who has not done badly) might be squeezed out.

We need to step up because it doesn't look like Liverpool, City or Arsenal will be slowing down in the near future...
The new Technical Director Jason Wilcox was in charge of Man City's academy for several years so that is potentially a good signing. Then we are also in for Ashworth from Newcastle which is another potentially good signing. Sir Jim seems to be making the right moves but only time will tell.

No, that's not what he did. He didn't sell the narrative they were the better out of the lot.

He admitted that some of the plans and ideas they had were lofty . He admitted to mistakes they made .

He was very open in his manner of writing and he didn't try to compel the reader to be sympathetic with them (the coupists ) , nor see things from their point of view only .
Yeah. Ademoyega appeared to be quite balanced and non-emotive in his book. He was however writing about the parts he knew as even he couldn’t have known the whole picture.

You have to conside the possibility of a coup within a coup. I suspect certain elements within the coup had their own hidden agenda, and in my opinion Zik was tipped off by one of those elements beforehand.

you must aleays remember that when an individual writes an autobographicalAdemoyega broke everything down in his book. The army as at that time consisted of officers whom he divided into 3 distinct groups based on their ideologies . book he is seeking to change the narrative to present himself in the best possible light.
Ademoyega’s version of the events is the most balanced I have read. It was the most logical and the one that least sounded like a propaganda piece.

No he wasn't. He was very smart and had his agenda. His moves in the first republic proves he wasn't

Awolowo had always shown open disdain for the North and will never see them as equals or partners he could work with, The North saw him as arrogant and were all too eager to humiliate him. One of Awolowo words was that "Kaka ka dobale fun Gambari, ka kuku roju ku" (It is better for him to endure till death than to take orders from, or kowtow to the Hausa-Fulani)

Zik on the flip side saw the opportunities that working with the North created for his people

What is the better deal than you can align with the not too educated North as a partners and fill all the posts all over the South with your kinsmen like Zik dreamed of. Bello and NPC held the North and all the key posts, Zik and NCNC allies held the entire South while the AG and Awo were opposition with nothing

Aligning with the North ensured that the West which had earlier rejected Azikwe's bid to be premier in the West was now the spoil for Zik and NCNC to consume and Zik did so with relish

There was a time University of Ibadan and University of Lagos both in SW had Kenneth Dike and Eni Njoku as VCs, Benefits of One Nigeria and aligning with the North until things went sour. Akintola broke that alignment of Zik with NPC. When the tenure of Njoku expired, Akintola ensured that he was replaced with Prof Biobaku

Which is why the pattern of the Jan 1966 killings were targeted at certain individuals
You might be right about him being an opportunist rather than idealist. The main thing though is that they all miscalculated based on their belief they could somehow come to dominate the other groups (since each of them believed that their group was inherently superior).

If they had foreseen the civil war and the consequent eternal ethnic discord they would have insisted on separation at independence. Each person before independence believed that he (and his group) was superior to the others enough to be able to ride the tiger.
