BlueRayDick: How we just manage the paper the cracks for over 60 years despite knowing the foundational problems ourselves still baffles me .
It is funny how foundational leaders like Awo, Zik and Ahmadu Bello all recognized our differences as a people ; are aware of the obstacle the differences pose to building a prosperous nation ; but somehow when it mattered most they focused on getting political power as individuals .
https://businessday.ng/columnist/article/how-nigeria-walked-into-a-disastrous-independence-and-why-azikiwe-never-became-prime-minister/?amp=1 Political shortsightedness or naivety. Compare them to someone like Ali Jinnah who ensured that Pakistan gained independence separately from India, thereby avoiding a situation in which India was a house divided and at war with itself, with a Hindu majority oppressing a strong Muslim minority. I think the difference is that Jinnah clearly saw that the Muslims would be dominated in a unified Indian subcontinent while each of those Nigerian leaders you mentioned probably underestimated the other groups and thought that his own group was superior and would rise to the top in a survival of the fittest situation. That most likely applies to Awo and the Sardauna. I suspect that Ziik was probably just an idealist and politically naive. |

CFA is flogging Naira wotowoto. All goods heading to Francophone countries for that sweet and stable French-backed CFA and Govt knows it.
Inflation has not yet caught up to Naira-CFA deterioration
CFA has gained 300% on Naira in the last 12 months, and until inflation hits 300% in Nigeria to match, it will be more profitable to sell to Francophone neighbours. Same 1 CFA you got last year for selling to the Francophones is the same 1 CFA you will get now, but it's 3 times more valuable in Naira, meanwhile Nigerians are not ready to pay 3 times what they paid last year. . . . yet.
The unspoken message in Govt narrative of "hoarding" is recognition that wholesalers will rather sell to Cameroun, Chad, Niger or Benin
Allez Les Blues

Tinubu looks like the glue holding the ship in Lagos; probably because he elevated a lot, and they owe him loyalty.
The moment Baba sleeps in the Lord, na better 2 by 2 dem go dey carry come Exco meeting.
Seyi kuku dey barb skodo. E go sweet to plank the head.[/color] Financial muscle will always grant him some relevance but if he is not sharp they will just use his money and toss him aside. If he is a little sharp he can still be a power broker and arbiter. By the time his father hands over the reins of the empire to him his bank account will read "uncountable". Uncountable money will keep him relevant for sometime. |

U see all those indigenous Lagosians flocking around Tinubu patiently waiting for a Lagosian's turn to rule Lagos ? They will swallow Seyi's money and back one of their own. 100%. If Tinubu is not alive and well his son can’t smell that governor’s seat. |

Imagine a keeper I didn't select cos he was facing City, came from the bench with an assist, 12 massive saves and a bonus point, despite losing to City.... the 10 points from Flekken gave me the win and I gained all these because I was lucky that Turner that I picked did not turn up. BlueRayDick: Okocha just put up a post on IG trying to encourage his nephew but look at what people are still writing in the comment section for 4ck sake 🤦♂️ I think we have discussed this issue on the other thread, although that was mainly about the political side of things. Nigerians on social media are too vindictive and appear heartless. Everything is about dragging people and exhibiting extremist tendencies. If any celebrity is found to have been even half as vindictive to someone else as these people have been to Iwobi, these same people that will not allow Iwobi rest will be the ones to drag the celebrity to hell for being wicked. |

BlueRayDick: While u are right that all countries have people who troll and bully players , I think we Nigerians do too much .Even so called celebrities who should know better join in the bullying and it makes no sense honestly .
Imagine a celebrity/influencer like Yhemolee who has over a million followers also joined in the bullying by posting that video complaining about Iwobi's "fine boy videos " on his page. Some blogs with sizeable number of followers did likewise . These posts of theirs only exposed Iwobi to more bulkying and it's unfair; some of them posted the video with emojis influencing more Nigerians to bully the guy.
I think among our selves we Nigerians need to tell ourselves the truth that some of these toxicity are unnecessary . If something happens now, the same people will still come out to be campaigning about mental health. |

olabode89: We don't have intelligent players... Ramsey is positioning himself between the defenders and our double pivot and it is messing with our players Dalot is playing too wide cos he is too focused on the overlapping full back (who is Garnacho's man). Then Mainoo is not awake to the situation to try to plug the gap created by Dalot. |

User09: A lot of recency bias here. No revisionism can take away how elite he was/is especially on the tactical side
And I'll say this as someone who's watched TT extensively - Except of course with Bayern; which by the way his performance is still in line or even better than the averages of their past 15 seasons
However, I still think the PSG & Chelsea experience did a number on him - He sort of plays with fear now. I saw it with Sarri too
@raumdeuter, I would put my money on Leverkusen bottling it. I watched the replays, That first cheap goal changed things
No one or team should be that consistent with luck - I only saw it once with Leceister and that was a one in a million season So after accusing me of recency bias you went ahead to say he now plays with fear. 👍 |

andrewbaba44: Agreed
But taking psg to ucl final and winning it with Chelsea the following season is not a small something o True but that PSG team was loaded and had just been underperforming and the Chelsea UCL run wasn’t your typical attacking or dominant run. The Chelsea team did not play the attractive football his Dortmund team played, which was what made me like him. He is a good manager, just not what I thought he was. |

At this point Harry Kane is looking cursed
Thomas tuchel is looking like a fraud ,I don’t know which reasonable coach will be starting Eric dier for a top team
Bayern Dey farm league e reach tuchel turn comma begin Dey ,if no he useless Dortmund e for no smell am last season I was a Tuchel fan but it is looking he might have benefitted from Klopp’s foundation and structure in his earlier teams because his recent teams do not play anything similar to that his Dortmund team. |
