I scrolled through his songs now and i couldn't pick out even one memorable one. Afrobeats heads might appreciate them but the average man of the street will overlook them.

Omah lay actually tries to combine both. Beat and melody with meaningful and soul reaching lyrics plus vibes. He has a unique way of producing his songs.

I am no Afrobeats expert but his tunes are not catchy enough for the casual observer. I watched a Ghanian show where the presenter was lamenting about how Kizz Daniel just repeated Odoyewu 20 times and had a monster hit. I just laughed at the guy's painment.
That is the type i am talking about. Omah Lay is trying to make too much sense when most casual listeners just want to vibe.

Same here. I started hearing about Omah Lay way before Asake and i have heard a number of his songs but i can't name a single one. None is just memorable enough IMO although they are decent songs. He probably needs a better producer cos in Afrobeats the beat and the melody are everything, not all these deep and meaningful songs he is trying to sell us.

The best rated is only 16 but he is small sized and not pacy. Think Phil Foden stylistically.
Because of his small size and lack of pace my fingers are crossed on him. He is no where ready for 2-3 years anyways.

There are a few other decent ones but no obvious standout.

I was just critiquing your examples. You should give an example of a Nigerian-born player that played youth football and also played top football into his 30s.

That would be a good example. People born overseas and Nigerian-born players that pafuka by 28 are not good examples.

Cos the guy keeps his head on a swivel and constantly scans, so he knows where the people around him (both teammates and opponents) are at most times. Then the few things he gets surprised in possession he is confident of his touch, passing, and dribbling to escape from danger. This differentiates him from McFred for instance, where neither Fred nor McTominay had the touch to be caught in such positions, hence their shaky-shaky daddy performances in 1st phase situations.

There will be ups and down as he still has a lot to learn especially defensively, but the potential is there. I have always known this.

He struggles with the buildup play bit but he's a very hard tackler, can pass, and he likes being offensive too. It's just his frame. If he were taller and bigger, I'm sure he'd have seen more minutes.

One thing that helps Kobbie is his football understanding and ability to play and excel in different midfield positions.

Yes i noticed. Gore's touch and turn in 1st phase is as good as Kobbie's, the difference is that he can't shrug off physical challenges like Kobbie and he does not have Kobbie's scanning ability. They used to take it in turns to play CDM in the academy and other times they both move forward and Oyedele who is bigger and stronger than both (but not as press resistant and technical) comes in to play CDM.

You are right about Kobbie's football intelligence and versatility. Gore is equally versatile and technical but inferior in terms of physical attributes and intelligence. Kobbie's calmness and authority is crazy. That was the first thing i noticed about him. He plays at his own pace and never seems fazed........ and he is always scanning.

Mainoo's weaknesses are shooting and using his left foot. Those are the 2 things he needs to work on, every other thing will improve organically as he plays more games.

Mainoo is special in what he does. But I don't see much similarities between him and Pogba. Maybe in the way they move the ball

It is mainly about how they shield the ball, move it and are difficult to dispossess. If Mainoo plays as a No8 rather than a No6 you will see him take more risk and power through the midfield a bit like Pogba does. They are also both black

He does not have Pogba's technical ability though but he works harder and is defensively superior.

There are glimpses of Pogba in his game, but he is definitely not a Pogba regen.

Is it that easy to have a best friend of your age 21/22 who is also coincidentally getting married ? If that were really the case it would likely be a mirror scenario (smalley marrying oldie) and he would encourge her to hang out with her married friend.

A 40yr old marrying a 20yr old usually is a red flag. The main reason is the guy wants someone he believes will be submissive to him and that he will be able to fully control. The mistake is not realizing that a 20yr old is still maturing and will not be the same person at 22-25. That submissive 20yr old will outgrow the guy by age 25 and the guy will now be acting shocked.

If a 40yr old wants to have anything to do with a 20yr old it should be all about mentorship and upliftment, not marriage.
