GloriousGbola: to add to this does OBJ believe he beat falae fair and square in the election? While the election wasn’t without irregularities, if they somehow found a way to make it completely free and fair, OBJ wins every time. The PDM-Ekwueme juggernaut was unbeatable. PDP was a combo of majority of the North and majority of the SE and SS. |

BlueRayDick: From my undertanding of the news article and the little I know about history I don't think Obasanjo is trying to rewrite any history.
If u read between the lines he was referring to 1998 LGA election when he was fresh out of prison, was being proped to be PDP presidential candidate. He was recently out of prison and was out of touch with the reality of things outside.
His party members asked him to bribe and settle INEC but he chose not to and they lost the elections. He further stated that the next election his guys went heavily on the bribing which he supported(staying in house as stated in the article means he approved of it ) and it didn't work out as planned.
U can infer that Obasanjo later fine-tuned the bribing/rigging machinery he learnt from his party members and he used it to win subsequent elections while he was in government and even to install Yar Adua.
There's a reason Obasanjo didn't tell the story between the 1998 incident because there's no way he look us in the eyes and claim he won those subsequent elections on merit for his party. Unless it is his own local government election alone, there is no way anybody in PDP in November 1998 was asking for permission from OBJ to offer bribe in an election. There is most definitely no way OBJ was overruling PDP top dogs if they decided to bribe people. OBJ that joined the party just a few weeks to the election? The OBJ of later years is not the OBJ of 1998. He just didn’t have that much power then. PLUS We have very good witnesses that can confirm that PDP bribed people during that election. |

BlueRayDick: Aswear, Lord of Ajasa, 9ice, tuface, etc.
Listening to 9ice and looking back now, I feel he came ahead of his time. If (ice had come out like a year or two ago, he will be swimming in serious digital money now. All those egbons missed out on the streaming income and other money's social media has made available to artistes Yeah some of those guys would have made even more money and more waves now, but they too did far better than the people who came before them in the late 90s. The people who will come in the next decade might also so do far better than the current crop. My suspicion though is that Afrobeat might soon max out. It has started being saturated with a talentless guys sounding similar and when the novelty wears off there might be a regression to the mean. |

This is why as previously discussed documentation is important.
In our lifetime Obj is attempting to rewrite the history we all lived through.
And some people will latch onto this as the true version of events.
At this rate Give Obj enough time and he will tell us yardua election was Nigerias most free and fair election. One where Micheal Jackson naturalized and voted for pdp. Obasanjo who was released from detention in June and only joined PDP in October (last week of October sef) was the one making decisions in PDP in November and December? Before we even talk of the fantabulous story that PDP did not offer bribe during the elections. |

BlueRayDick: Na the remix of this song I like pass that year .
I don’t know why, but anytime I’m driving or at home and want to just blast music I always end up searching for “2000’s naija hits “ on Spotify . Most of the songs they sing now don’t appeal to me as much as 2000 -2013 hit songs . Bar for a few like Burnaboy and those street songs ; I still prefer old school naija hip hop/pop. I have been blasting those songs for the past few days on my drive to and from work. This morning it was Lord of Ajasa medley. I started with Otiya, moved to Esa Lobade, and ended with Le Fenu so. |

izzou: The only excuse that can fly would be that PDP was the GOAT of politics then, and whatever divisions we had now were very sketchy and minute as at then.
Everybody would know he was Igala. His opposition would know.
There would be no way he could hide it, even to rule the second time. That Shekarau is Igala is not certain. He was claiming Kano indigene cos he was born there but Kwankwaso's people were claiming that he was a non-indigene. Some said he was Kanuri, and others said he was Bura. Now i am reading Igala here (which i doubt). His tribal mark looks a bit like Abacha's own so if they asked me on WWTBAM i would say Shekarau was Kanuri. |

Cos I expected him to get some minutes this November. Maybe the coaching crew are prepping him for a build up role in the team. They are being cautious about if for some reason. Maybe he is still behind in terms of fitness since his pre-season what cut short by injury. With the injuries we have in midfield i expect him to get good minutes after this international break. |

But then u also people trying to tell their story how it favours them. That bias is something that makes everybody have their own version of the story and then hope foreigners believe our own version of the story above other people's Yes, people often try to push their own version of history. The thing about documented history and archaeology is that it helps to debunk a lot of propaganda. |

There's so much claims and counter claims in their respective accounts of history and culture It just gives you an idea of how pitiable our documented history is and the amount of work that needs to be done in terms of archaeological research in Nigeria. All these claims and counterclaims are about things that happened 200-1000 years ago. Not that long ago in the grand scheme of things. |

Also he knew some of those guys growing up, so he probably didn’t have the fear most outsiders would have for them. One of the guys who took care of him as a kid (after his drug dealer mother died) was Preme’s mentor, and when that one went to jail it was one of Preme’s associates that started looking out for him. 50 is certified. |

Ibime: Puffy never had problems with Jimmy and Haitian Jack and guys like Zip while they were terrorizing the whole industry, he was partying with them, that's why he's a deadly guy. Also his guy Wolf was a terror.
I won't consider Supreme part of the music industry as he wasn't involved operationally, he only fronted Gotti brothers with start up capital. Yeah Preme wasn’t involved in day to day operations but his money was involved and he rolled in those circles to some extent. As they say, every gangster wants to be a rapper and every rapper wants to be a gangster. He was part of the culture. One of the reasons I have respect for 50 is that he is one of the few to have beef with almost all the bogeymen of hip hop and still walk away smiling. |

Let's not even talk about the Usher incident and rumors of grooming. Diddy dey move mad, you should hear what 50 has to say about him. Go and watch Diddy on Drink Champs flirting with Fabolous 😂😂 and see how uncomfortable Loso was and that's a grown rich man at least 11-12 years my senior
I also find it curious that he's suddenly released everybody's Masters. Mase, Biggie's estate, Lox, 112.
R@pe is very hard to prove between partners sha, I'm more inclined to believe the violence, assaults and other stuff
Anyway na civil case so he will probably have to pay a hefty settlement and that will be that Diddy is the deadliest guy in hip hop. The only people probably more dangerous than him are career criminals like Preme, Jimmy Henchman, Haitian Jack them. |

patrickmuf: Every other match week we struggle to beat the weakest of teams in the league and when you complain about the performance Christo and his guys will be quick to point to the structural deficiency and lack of qualified personnel in these roles as a reason why we are struggling.
Now, we have Ratcliffe coming in with in with investment and the proposal to get club running as have been suggested here and elsewhere by the fans who heap all the blames on the management and what you start reading almost immediately is that it does not matter but rather performance on the pitch. While it comes across as a genuine take, you can't help but wonder why fans are already pessimistic of the changes even though it is what they have clamored for all along and more interesting, it's the names they bandied around that are rumored to be under consideration for the positions.
Can we all agree that the management have gotten it right if the rumors turns out true so we don't go back to blaming them when results on the pitch don't improve? You are making it seem like there are no structural problems and these were all fabricated. We know people who were denying that there were structural problems until their idolo Ronaldo co-signed that allegation. What exactly do you want? That we should praise the new management and executives just for existing? We shouldn’t wait to see if they are actually good at their jobs? |
